The Agent of Oblivion question of the day

By the way, I'm enjoying these, AoO.

The Agent of Oblivion question of the day

I read that a few days ago, but it is kind of hard to believe, isn't it? Given how disliked he was, I expected more of a gala. To be fair, I'm coming off a week in which I worked 86 hours - I haven't boarded hard for a while now. I agree with what VX said (for the most part) the more I think about, but I basically interacted with him in the HD thread...and that's about it. Furthermore, Venk agreed with him on the HD lust, as do I. You should all get on that. When Venk talks, I listen. Three misc. items: I beat him in Round 1, '07. Still no one has answered my question about sub-field drive in the HD thread. That's enough for me to justify Marvin sticking around. Finally, Painted Marvin was awesome. EDIT: I actually edited in the third item. The hilarity that was PM trumps my desire to learn more about plasma television refresh rates.

    Pictures I Like

Who are you? And, lest it appear I'm taking sides in the EMHE-Pbone showdown - why'd you post a picture of EMHE?

"Rent" implies he'll return said books/movies. Don't see it.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

Not in Canada. Sorry. Starting today, through the 23rd, all 360/PS3/Wii games are minimum $10 trade credit. Any game. </shill>

    Sporcle Thread

My Achille's heel in any trivia medium has always been the Elements. This might help. Country results forthcoming. What score did you hit in Geo Challenge, by the way?

    Moments So Contrived

I'm sorry, but Maria probably didn't find The Condemned to be a lot of fun. That's okay, though - Santino was hilarious in that whole series.
  8. I'm out for tonight's roundtable, but I'd very much like to get in on 16-20 and 21-24. I think each is a gradually improving scale of what I could bring to the table, conversation-wise.

    Botches that actually improved matches

It led to Mickey's pantomiming of oral sex seconds later - maybe the hottest thing I've ever seen in my life. That improved the match, though it, too, was cut from the DVD release.

ECW reunion show - Legends of The Arena, 6/27 in Philly

Corino is confirmed? I don't see that happening.

DLo buying condoms for....someone (PMS, maybe?), and the two girls behind the counter who recognized him.

Staring down Patrick Kane in the best hockey game ever comes to mind. Sadly, it's all been downhill since. He's been pretty good in the regular seasons so far, but wide-eyed in the playoffs, and the same since the All-Star Game.

Heel Characters That You Agreed With?

I still love hearing Jesse rant on Hogan whenever he'd break the rules. Another one that I agree with more and more after the fact... Vince McMahon and the "Bret screwed Bret" speech. I'm also on board with pretty much any heel that brings up how big a screw-up Jeff Hardy is. I'll bite my tongue on Vince, to avoid another Montreal debate. Yes to Hardy. Good call. I'd been meaning to mention, as well, how much I agreed with the initial two of Nowinski and Hussan. Jesse at the 89 Rumble had a line from Chapelle's show! Body: "Look at the poor sportsmanship of Hogan, beating up Akeem and Bossman after he was eliminated!" Gorilla: "They got revenge on Hogan after a loss on SNME!" Body: "That was weeks ago, Gorilla!"

Heel Characters That You Agreed With?

My first instinct was Bret Hart in '97, followed by an inverse answer of Hogan in the Rumbles, specifically '89 and '92. How good was Jesse Ventura on commentary when Hogan bent any rules?

    TSM Death Pool -- 2009

Mrs. Gordie Howe died today at 75. Does anyone have the man? I took him off this year's list.

    HDTV

Needless to say, I was asked this constantly during my seasonal Best Buy tenure. My answer was always....sort of. They're not too bad, but HD when viewed OTA was incredibly laggy, and froze a lot. I suppose this could be a moot point if you're watching using a cable box (I really can't say for certain, since all we displayed was ota), but I'm willing to bet the song would remain the same. I'm not going to entertain the potential rebuttal of you not watching HD, as you damn well should be. The Dynex, another BB house brand, were the better of the two. Unquestionably, the two brands are priced very well, and while middle-of-the-road, the specs are typically respectable. A Viera plasma I'm looking at boasts "480 hz subfield drive". The measurement of hz suggests it's the same, or similar to, refresh rate - is it? Can anyone fill me in?

Moore to Buffalo for a second-rounder. TSN swears the 'other circle' report of Pony to Nasvhille is not true.

I really like the Leclaire deal. Why did Gary Roberts and Miro Satan clear waivers, but not Eric Reitts? (sic). The Leafs also picked him up on waivers - I've never heard of him, and I'm willing to bet I've got his name wrong here as well.

Got called into work at CIM last night, in addition to a shift at Blockbuster during the afternoon, which ties nicely into my post: Did a post-17 call to a guy named Martin Gerber (I don't remember which movie he hasn't returned). My 'return it or you'll hear from collections' scare caused him to leave town - The Leafs have claimed in.

The Agent of Oblivion question of the day

Not really, no. I can usually get a few notes, but very seldom more. #8 on my Bucket List was to whistle the opening part to GnR's Patience. I did. I also can't snap my fingers.

The Agent of Oblivion question of the day

My first date was Hillary Campbell, summer of grade ten into eleven. We saw Scary Movie, followed by me apologizing for nearly all of the drive home. Kissed goodnight, saw each other twice before breaking up about two weeks later.
