The Simpsons Character Draft
CanadianGuitarist replied to CanadianGuitarist's topic in Draft Faggotry
It was removed by the editor/program co-ordinator, but when I was writing in college, I did a column where I referred to something as laughble. The following line was: "Well, you all know what laughter sounds like!" -
The Simpsons Character Draft

"Up" is the current draftor. "On deck" is the person who follows. "On the clock", when applicable, means anyone who can pick but missed their priority. -
This is the Broncs' eight-straighth win over Cleveland. I don't want to say I'm surprised Denver won tonight, but I really thought Cleveland was the better team going in. Jay Cutler throwing for damn near 450 yards will do that, I guess.

Constantly. I was called names I'd never heard before during the hockey draft. -
On that note, I have an upconversion question. Having established that the 360 can indeed upscale 480i/p DVD's, a discussion on GameFaqs has my back against the wall. I offered that you may need the HD add-on to upscale, given my experience a few weeks ago: I ran my 360 off HDMI on a 720p TV, but my movie stayed 4:3. The wheels that are being spun centre around my inabilty to argue that upconversion also turns 4:3 into 16:9, on the grounds that all HD is widescreen. Yay or nay?

Awesome. I mentioned this in the HDTV thread, but I got hired on at Best Buy for seasonal work, with the possibility of staying on in the new year. My Facebook work info thing lists my job title as Christmas Ape. I fully intended to change it to "Christmas Ape goes to Summer Camp" if I get hired on permanently, but thus far, no one got the reference. -

Cowboy didn't actually make a pick; you've got, in theory, till early Saturday morning. Realistically, you'll have until sometime tomorrow evening. No worries. But while we're on the subject, I did allow posters to PM me their potential picks in the hockey draft. If anyone would like to pm me a few potential draft picks and quotes if they're going to be away, I'll fill them in. -
Some big nights for some big names: Ovechkin and Malkin each have three assists in their 4-3 and 5-4 wins. Iginla has two goals and two assists in the Flames' 7-6 win. Another similarity in the latter two? Both Pittsburgh and Calgary nearly cough up huge leads: Pittsburgh led 5-0 at one point, and Calgary squeaked by after opening 4-0.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

EXACT quote from a law seminar a buddy of mine conducted in Grade 12. We were assigned "Hi-Tech Crime". Neither of us knew anything about it. Neither of us bothered to learn. Our seminar consisted of the George Peterson clip from Ferris Bueller, and this: "It used to be that yelling was the only way to communicate across far distances. But with the Internet, there's far fewer sore throats." As was marked on our 30/100: "The Ferris clip was entertaining, but not really hi-tech crime. I hope you do a lot better on this project next year." -
As both a leftist and a lousy football prognosticator....I like the top ones better.

It's hard to believe, isnt it? I know it's been dwindling to a halt for about six or seven years, but I'd say, when I was at Wal*Mart, I sold about three VCR's a week, and probably a dozen combo units per week.

The Simpsons Character Draft

Some of you may have noticed that I updated the board about an hour prior to my pick. Well, I blame it on three things: First, a good football game getting the better of my attention. Second, trying to decide between two picks still out there. I went with the more obvious, as I believe the second can make it back to me in the next round. Third, trying to find a good picture. The pic I used, it turns out, will be the same as when I used a reference by this character in the hockey draft. "What else could cause such a delay? A fat-free fudge cake that doesn't let you down in the flavour department like so many before?" Kent Brockman.....UCKman! -
I don't follow. Did the link open up my YouTube favourites, or are you saying my dad looks like DC? Both of those are reasonably likely.

Denver. Cleveland will win, but the extra half-point opens up a second drive, and that's enough to sway me.

Case-by-case basis. "Drunk" and or "Professor Barney" are duplicates. "Squeaky voice teen" will probably be allowed. -

This is indeed what I meant to say. Board is updated. Scorpio is a fucking fantastic pick, and I thought Sideshow Bob would slip under the radar enough that I could scoop him up. I'm back to the drawing board. -

You must have missed something; I don't know what you're talking about........... -
Bob Barron had never seen this. If he were anyone else, it wouldn't necessarily surprise me*, but given his regular posting in the sports thread, I'm astonished. Come to think of it, Gundy did rag on newspapers, which is Barron's gravy train. *Red Baron and I have been known to have entire conversations when drunk in pissed-off coach lines, along with our mutual friend Nick; Nick and I did this a few weeks ago, but he didn't recognise "I'm a man, I'm 40!".

Albeit for seasonal, I got hired Tuesday at Best Buy. Home theatre. No commission, which I'd have liked, but considering I was working for a placement agency the last two months, I'll take it.

Rando, have at 'er. -
Go on........ That's it. Why do your parents refer to your ass whatsoever? Let alone with a name like "Professor"? Does a fart at a really high or low tone sound smarter than others?

From Toronto yesterday. My Dad and I went to Gretzky's restaurant to eat, when we see Cake from Rent a Goalie. We got a picture of him, but then we went inside and Walter freakin' Gretzky was there! Not ten minutes prior, we were discussing how, if meeting any celebrity, we'd much rather have a picture than an autograph. As it turns out, we got both. He was almost too freakin nice. We felt a little guilty getting just one pic from him, but he took three, and offered to take more on both our cameras, etc. When signing (albeit, pre-made papers), he kept asking "anyone at home I can sign for?", and both of us saying "I live alone", he found more: My brother in Alberta and my nephew in Newfoundland now both have Walter's autograph.

Ditto. Not withstanding, I just a had a feeling it wouldn't be Homer, even though he surely comes to mind for each draftor.

My thoughts exactly during my brief run as Tweeter. Off the top of my head, you and Barron were the only regulars who never had a name change.

Go on........
