When I'm drunk on Facebook, I call it Faceboozing. Does a similar term exist for being drunk at TSM? -
Two strikes against me. We eliminated all traces of the faux second vote, and I don't have drunken posting to blame this time. What's with the name change?

To clarify any potential confusion: The NFL Draft rule is in effect. If time expires for a draftor, he she does not lose their pick, they simply lose their priority. Scroby's 12-hour window has closed, meaning HollywoodSpike has a 12-hour window until 6:37 am, eastern. Scroby may still pick as soon as possible. If anyone misses a few picks in succession, we'll look at eliminating them, but no one can "lose their pick". Franchise posted something similar, can we work this into the rules part of YnA's first post?

DEN @ CLE I don't quite know what to expect out of Denver, but I could say the same of Cleveland and Brady Quinn. My "first game" theory didn't work out with Mike Singletary two weeks ago, but with Denver's defence, Cleveland should get the win. NO @ ATL This is a tough one. I think coming off the bye week, New Orleans gets a win. TEN @ CHI Toughest of the week. My same reasoning from Denver-Cleveland might apply to Grossman, but Tennessee's still got the best defence in the league. They're not going 16-0, but they are going 9-0. JAC @ DET Nope. Upset ain't happening. Jacksonville, albeit too late, rights the ship this week. BAL @ HOU This is a tough one too. Baltimore played a really strong fourth quarter against a better-than-their-record Cleveland. I think that's enough to get them by. SEA @ MIA Dolphins by a million. I know that sounds funny, but they're playing well, had two straight good wins, and its Seattle on the East coast. GB @ MIN Just a hunch, but Vikings. BUF @ NE New England's gotta be seething over losing to Indy, and they handled the Bills last year easily. New England's a night and day team from this year to last, but with the trouble the Bills have had the last two weeks, specifically with the AFC East, the Pats get the win. STL @ NYJ Jets. CAR @ OAK The Raiders get the KKK Rams treatment in my sig after this week, underscored by their 200-point loss to the Panthers. IND @ PIT This. KC @ SD With their backs already against the wall, San Diego should win this one against a competitive Chiefs team. NYG @ PHI Philly needs this, but the Giants pull it out. SF @ ARI Cardinals, not even close.

This. Was Scroby Pm'd? He has until 6:37pm tonight.

Way ahead of ya; I let 'em both in, even before his line.

You never asked. What am I, a mind reader? I knew you made references, but why the hell wouldn't you express interest if you were perusing the thread? Milky gets picks #16 and 17, etc., if he has a relevant reference based on anything I typed in this post. What do you think I meant by "YEAH!" My interest is implied by my existence! CG: "We're off and running." NH: "WHY THE HELL AM I NOT IN THIS?" CG: "I can't see through metal, Milky!" Ok, I'm in. You son of a bitch, that's good.
-
That reference is good enough, especially given the death/old people context thing. Edit: Jesus Christ, you told me about the draft! Fuck, my heads's killing me. Fuck it. Milky's in. NO MORE ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED. Surely to God we can come up with 170 memorable characters.

Cuban Linx (1) Scroby (2) HollywoodSpike (3) Gosunkugi (4) Rando (5) JJ (6) mattdotcom (7) Franchise (8) yNa(9) CG (10) Al (11) Aero(12) TakerHart (13) Cowboy (14) BrooklynZoo (15) Dr. Venk (16) Milky (17) We're off and running. Rules: * PM the next person when you've selected. * We'll start with a 12-hour window, which may close to eight if necessary. * No couples or groups together; one at a time only. Sorry. * Justify your pick, even if you don't need to. Have some fun. * CubanLinx' window starts at 6am eastern.

I'll allow Franchise in. He's the last. Leonard Rockstein posted "I want it." This may mean "I want in." Or, he was referring to Milky's sass. I can't tell. Can you? Order will be posted around 1am tonight, at which point we'll begin. Eight-hour rule begins at 9am eastern tomorrow.
-
Done. We have 14, so ten picks is reasonable. I have a job interview and am going to a Leafs game tomorrow, so drafting can begin early Wednesday. I'll post the order tomorrow night, and welcome suggestions in the meantime, but I like YnA's rules, so they'll stand for now. Shout-out: This draft of 14 selectors (like the hockey draft) includes three hockey draft GM's. And the eight-hour rule is in effect, coupled with, ideally, a PM to the next draftor. Also, as mentioned, absolutely everybody is up for grabs. Finally, I didn't get Milky's YEAH! Was it sassy? A markout? Both?

Take a deep breath before you read this, ala Yakko in NotW. Fucking AWESOME find. Yes to everything above the line. I don't remember below it, but I like the sound of it. I loved the fuck out of Bugs as a kid, but he really was a prick, wasn't he? Iffy - Though I kind of agree, "Looney Tunes" as a whole is too vague, given all the characters. It's like saying: "What's your favourite food?" "Meat" "Not veggies or candy or anything, just meat? Well, which one?" "Meat" I really like how they give a mature synopsis of it. God yes. I fucking hated them both, and this was back in the day when I didn't root for the bad guys. GOD YES. My buddy Yourke and I, in the summer of Grade Ten, only called each other for three reasons: one was to arrange plans. The other two were immediately following ECW on TNN or Wacky Races to discuss them. Dick Dastardly is one of my favourite villains ever. Snidely Whiplash is close, and they're basically one in the same anyway. I defy anyone to say "Arkansas Chug-A-Bug" without marking out. As mentioned, Rabbit of Seville and What's Opera Doc are phenomenal. I can't recall which episode it was, but Bugs was conducting a fat tenor; he took his glove off and it defied gravity, causing the tenor to hold his note to the point his face was all different colours and he was pounding his fists in impatience. My bro and I were watching a thing on golfer John Daly a few summers ago, including a look at the '95 British Open, which he won in a playoff. One of the most famous golf shots (a highlight of which was shown) of all-time is the ridiculously long putt Constantino Rocca made to force that playoff. I said "I wish they'd have shown Rocca's reaction." When my brother asked me why, I described Rocca as being like the tenor above. He instantly doubled over laughing. I'll see if I can find that, but I doubt, even with a tourney at DisneyWorld, that golf could produce something that would invoke memories of a Disney character. Edit: Got it. 1:40-1:50

Venk suggested I run it. Cowboy did volunteer first, so he should have the reins. If not, I'll do it. I'm also in, pending his limits.

The TSM Market Research Thread
CanadianGuitarist replied to Cheech Tremendous's topic in General Chat
Something occured to me as far as my answers go: Benoit caused my return to watching wrestling, as well as the demise of it. That stat's a little manipulated, as I wasn't entirely off it from the time ECW folded up til the '04 Rumble, and I wasn't quite off it altogether in June '07. Still. -

Was/is there one? How likely is its success? My "Simpsons Week" thread in July fizzled. -

How does Bob Barron not have a DVD player? That's nearly unheard of. -

Can I run the next Poster Tourney? I have amends to make for the hockey draft....which wasn't too bad, but we waited too long to implement the NFL Draft rule. Also, I was drunk for much of it, and I'm not drinking much any more. -
That's not.......that bad.
-
Or a Czech member title.

They obviously don't play to win the game. Hello!? Like Jim Mora, that'll never not be funny. If I get down on how bad the Raiders are, well, at least they're better than my KKK Pick'em.
-
God dammit. I had a pretty good tiebreaker pick (off by four). Verne Gagne had a perfect tiebreaker pick.

New York and Tampa in Prague start off in about 90 minutes, with Ottawa and Pittsburgh immediately following in Stockholm. It's back, baby!

As of 9:45, the only team I incorrectly picked on ProLine was the Rangers. I was pretty well inventing swears out of anger at the Leafs. (I've forgiven them, as I also had the Sens). Still, that nullified what was a remarkable five minutes of hockey. They certainly figured out Valiquette: Goals one, three, and four looked almost identical (though some replays may prove me wrong): All from the top of the right circle, all over his left shoulder. In the same vein, no one's mentioned the Habs four-goal third period, but that's easy to overlook, given our recent history against the Isles, coupled with the Leafs-Rangers head-to-head records. Don Cherry may have been right about the Leafs, they absolutely don't quit. I don't know what them going halfway through the third, but seemingly all of a sudden, they got going. From immediately after Betts' goal to about the ten-minute mark, they just looked lost. But Stajan's effort and great pass on Mitchell's first goal really woke them up, and the crowd was really alive. What a fun game to watch. What's the bounty on Steve Ott, Max? I'm beginning to get, like you said, a Big Bad Broons vibe from them.

I want in. To my discredit, I pronounce your name as "Lef-tenant".
