How many is a lot? I'm certainly not denying how much help Crosby has, but how many realistically? Twenty? Thirty? Fifty? I think the last two are a stretch, and calling 20 people "special" out of 650 or so isn't unfair. Also, why hasn't made any retard jokes with someone many posts involving the words "Crosby" and "special". Finally, re: the entire interview, that does put it in a whole different context, and I don't necessarily disagree with the Kane assessment. But to deny the talent or ability of Crosby is absolutely asinine. I also think, in light of his "heroes and villains" comment, Sean Avery is probably reading the article while jerking off and laughing like Ted Dibiase on cocaine.

I was literally just starting to read this when it came up on Sportscentre. I'm dumbfounded. Also: "I don't see anything special there....he scores 100 points."

That's even worse since it's (or appears to be) on a golf course.

Character Moments That Now Make You Cringe or Shudder
CanadianGuitarist replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
Before the Benoit incident, for me, the cringing came with how many times Joey Styles said Mike Awesome could die and such. Yes. I'd forgot all about Joey Styles talking about Awesome until I re-watched the show about a month ago. -
* The Habs only need to stay healthy to have a legitimate shot at the Stanley Cup. * I don't follow the Raptors closely enough to fairly comment. * The Blue Jays' bats got going once Cito took back over. Assuming they played .500 the first two months under Gibbons, that puts them at roughly 90 or 92 wins, which probably won't be good enough. So, a full season of good hitting and a little more power puts them in decent shape. To maintain that, however, they absolutely need to hang on to Burnett, and they'll probably need one more 10-win pitcher with Marcum and McGowan out for 2009. * Al Davis needs to die. My Dad and I discussed this Sunday; decent running game, pretty good defence. If Russell can mature a little, they could be a 6-10 or 7-9 team. Al Davis' shadow no longer cast over them almost instantly makes the Raiders better.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

Self quote! Upon re-reading this, I probably could have found a better word then flirt. On the other hand, I, for some reason, envisioned that Pepsi commercial a few years ago where the guy dressed as a (hot dog/Pepsi can or fountain drink) falls in love with a girl dressed as a (other of the previous things) to "No Rain". -

It was Heatwave '00. This is what I was going to post. -
Winner. I rewound that commercial quite a few times to make sure what I heard was real. A friend of mine still says that when she's drunk. It's her answer to my Armando Alejandro Estrada.

The TSM Market Research Thread
CanadianGuitarist replied to Cheech Tremendous's topic in General Chat
1. How often do you visit TSM? How long are you here on a typical visit? How many minutes, or hours, do you spend here daily? Probably two or three times daily, usually 15 minutes or so at a time. 2. Which folders do you spend the most time in? Why? Which ones do you skip over? I'll always hit up, in this order, General Wrestling, Current Events, Sports, Technology, Food, Chocolate Socket. If I'm not in a hurry or anything, I'll check out the other threads. I don't make a point to skip any, but I very very rarely go to TNA, RoH, MMA, and Comic Books/Toys. 3. Who are your favourite posters? What makes a poster "good"? Pretty well all the sports regulars (specifically hockey). 4. Who are your least favourite? Why? I don't actually dislike anyone here. 5. Who is your favourite mod? Can you actually name the mods we have? I'd say no favourites.....Czech, Venk, Treble. I think Alf, AlKeiper. 6. What brought you to TSM in the first place? Do you still come for the same reasons? Do you still watch wrestling? I was actually using a spare handle of The Rocket's when I first started posting. An anti-Iraq war tirade brought me here. I come, for the most part, out of routine, but there's usually two or three good threads going, and there's been times when there were a dozen or so threads I was monitoring. I don't really watch wrestling anymore, save the Rumble-Wrestlemania span. My interest had been dwindling since I started here in 2004 in the first place, and the Benoit thing really put a damper on it. Still, General Wrestling has always been decent. 7. When was the board at its best? No one time jumps out. Early '06 will probably get the nod, as there was a span of no Mike, but Hoff, and my first poster tournament. 8. What is the one thing, above all else, that keeps you coming back here? As mentioned, it's kind of a tie between routine and legitimate enjoyment. 9. If you could change one thing about TSM, what would it be? Things are fine the way they are. 10. How much longer will TSM be around? Why would it be going anywhere? -
I'll never be able to find this, but there was a commercial in 03/04-ish for CanadaReconnect, a fly-by-night phone company. This black woman was complaining about her outrageous phone bill. Her reasoning? "It was my cahhhhhhzin's fault".

The Things That Anger You Thread.
CanadianGuitarist replied to Man Who Sold The World's topic in General Chat
I'm sure their might be one, if not two people we can think of for thinking AIDS is funny. One of them is because he's a dickhead, the other is just for spite. We meaning you and me? We meaning TSM as a whole? I don't see where this is headed. Also, there's someone who thinks AIDS is funny for spite that isn't a dickhead? Didn't Marvin flirt with AIDS for a while? -
I don't like use of the term "fun size". I've never said "this is fun" while eating a specific food. If I did, wouldn't a bigger treat = more fun?

No one actually said it, it was just the first guilt-inducing thing I could think of. It shouldn't be long before anyone you know prompts a similar discussion to above. Trust me. -

The episode of South Park with the Mormon family pissed me off. It just seemed intolerant, though I realise it ultimately wasn't. I do think the Mormon beliefs are pretty out there, but the episode wouldn't have pissed me off so much had I not such loved a former co-worker whose family and her were scarily like the family on said episode. No more integrity for me in this post: In the same vein as lying about "my wife is (whatever person is ranting about)" try this if you ever get the chance: Dickhead friend: Bahaha! That guy has AIDS! That's a funny disease! You: Not it's not! My cousin has it! DF: *ashamed* Oh, Jesus. I was just jokin', I'm sorry. You: Nah, I was just kidding. He doesn't. -
They hit the wall after the Campbell trade last year, but the case I continually made for the Sabres was how deep they were. I'm puzzled by the Sens. I can't get too deep with my analysis, having only seen them play the two games in Europe, but I really thought the loss of Emery would be improvement enough. Judging from Leafs postgame, the Sens were awful tonight. My buddy, a Sens fan, is blaming the ex of a mutual friend, who became a Sens fan sometime around last December. Scapegoating is fun.

God help me, I agree with Star Ocean. But I can't say why, since it's standings related. I wonder if there'll be a new word for it, like we did with nigger-teddy bear a few years ago, or the Glenn Beck-gay sex thing in the spring. "Folks, Colorado's three-game win streak has seen them shoot up the heroin in this early NHL campaign."

Czech's next avatar might as well be a Steven Richards "Yeah huh!" The Blues started off well last year, too, as I recall. We'll see. Tkachuk and Kariya are too old for 75 more games like this.

When I was driving a bread delivery truck last fall, we got some ridiculous bread for a promo. I don't even remember what it was, but it was some ridiculous amount of grain. This post isn't to discuss the merit of multigrain bread (which I don't like as a rule), but 200 grains are too many. Anyway, the other guys at my depot and I agree that we weren't likely to sell too many, so we all ordered a dozen per store, which we thought would suffice for the week. It more than sufficed. The first Sobey's sold one, the other twelve went bad. The second Sobey's (site of my fist pump over Pavarotti's death, no less) sold none. In fact, when I visited them a week later, there were thirteen on the shelf. How the hell was there one more? Would someone really buy a loaf of bread from one store and return it twenty kilometres up the road? I had planned on devising a similar scheme to Czech's but never did. I quit the job a few weeks later, the catalyst being equally ridiculous. No Frills had ordered fifteen-or-so boxes of fruitcakes, which arrived for delivery on an already busy day. I said "the hell with it, I'll bring 'em tomorrow. Who needs fruitcake in October that urgently?" My boss called me and told me hightail it back to the depot and bring them, lest they be stolen by the warehouse employees. By the way, the warehouse was primarily for the LCBO. And also something by Mott's.

Doctors are taking a green approach by not using any water or chemicals that could hurt the environment to clean off surgery tools. Everyone has to do their part to save the environment! But I cleaned them with my napkin!

^ I have no problem with the shootout, but I like everything else said above. I recall a few years ago, during a roundtable, that idea coming up. It was muddled, however, with perhaps the worst standing suggestion, ever: Three for a win, two for an OT loss, one for a tie, nothing for a regular loss. The middle two might be interchangable, but come on. More columns in the paper? Horrible.
