I have two additional controllers, but am not sure how to add them. The guide on xbox.ca wasn't much help, and incredibly, posting this question on GameFaqs didn't go smoothly. Help?

Yes. I remember you describing the steep change almost suddenly, but it really is the case. We should boost, as well

This could take some work; I do have a bunch of half-finished games on my hard drive.

    This Week in Baseball 8/18 - 8/24

There's a new wave of HI commercials with Joe Bookman and Cal Ripken. Not the goofy guy, sadly. I can't even find those on YouTube or Google any longer

    Gas Price Check...

Some buddies of mine from Buffalo were in Canada on the 3rd, and they said it was over $4 per gallon. I'd never heard of it topping that. I filled up in Buffalo yesterday for $3.95 per. Since I got back to St. Kitts, it's been in the $1.25/1.30 range the whole time.

    The OAO Wrestling Quotes Game

A TSM Favourite, tied in to Luger's match above. I bet I can still do this from memory: Interviewer: Mr. Luger! Mr. Luger! I saw what just happened out there with Ron Killings. I just wanna know what's your plan for him at SuperBrawl Saturday? Luger: What kind of disgusting, depic, despicable...(sighs) lack of respect does that Billy whats-his-name show? Bookin the Total Package in a match at Superbrawl? Super Saturday? What is it? I don't even know what it's called, what is it called? I: Superbrawl Saturday. L: Superbrawl Saturday? Can he even afford to pay me to wrestle Ron? I don't know! Gah! And your t-shirts are too tight too, Billy! And you book a match with me, against Ron Killings? Look at me! I'm the total package! I'm gonna rip him apart! I'm pissed now! (walks off) I: And... L: The door's locked, too!

The "Fuckin Wisconsin" thread reminded me of an awesome Paint pic from here a few months ago. Like a TSM demographic. Can anyone find that? I thought it was from the poster tourney, but I perused it earlier to no avail.

Ben Berrnanke doesn't want you to take a raise this year*

I don't know a great deal about economics, so I'm potentially setting things up to make things heated, and I'm probably beating a dead horse to a degree. But this is the very basis of why I'm liberal; everything about Marvin's post, who I'm not attacking personally, struck me as selfish.

A list of foods I hate

I'll echo everything in the post above, including KKC's quote. I never really mushrooms as a kid; then they became a pizza staple, then good in salads and on steaks and burgers, etc. My buddy who hosted Summerslam yesterday made some unbelievable stuffed mushrooms. I'm effing on board. Meatless burger? The eff?

    1) I brought this up a few months ago and it was never quite answered, although it was more thinking aloud on my behalf. A buddy of mine said that TV's with a 1366x768 NR, by and large, had to render 1080i/p. As such, a TV with a 1920x1080 NR maintains the integrity of a 1080i broadcast as opposed to stretching it out. (Tantamount to comparing a Blu Ray disc to an upconverted DVD). As I also said when I brought it up, it struck me as a pretty neglible difference, to the point that "what I don't know won't hurt me". I've never actually heard of 540p. I wonder, as SuperJerk and I pondered a few months ago, if it was being used as a comparison for 1080i. Additionally, I saw a TV on Future Shop's website a while back that boasted the ability to show images in 960p, which I've never heard of in practise, either. 2) Given the 5.5 years I spent in Connections/Electronics at Wal*Mart, I don't blame you for taking this with a grain of salt. I'm certain it's just a rumour. Even spending a brief period with a competitor, along with spending considerable time ordering product for Wal*mart, which included corresponding with our buyers and meetings with management, there was little difference in the invoicing costs from each supplier. I think the fair assessment of Wal*mart selling brands with inferior component kind of got blown out of proportion. As for the differences in the same products in different stores, I never saw it first-hand, but I'm told our buyers were often pretty unethical with some suppliers, to the point of bullying.

Has anyone yet to sign up? I'm freakin hooked on Virtual Tennis. It's going to get worse before it gets better unless something (read: this league) pries me away from it.

    The Golf Thread

And the Playoffs begin Thursday at the Barclay's in New Jersey. The field of 144 will be cut to 100; some notable players currently in that tier include recent major winners Rich Beem, Zach Johnson, David Toms, and Angel Cabrera. There's also about 20 recent PGA Tour winners, including a current champion in Richard S. Johnson, along with crowd favourites Jesper Parnevik and Chris DiMarco. Padraig Harrington, Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson, Robert Karlsson, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Justin Rose Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell, Martin Kaymer are the ten on the European Ryder Cup team, so far. Faldo still has two captain's picks.

That's huge; I want both NHL 09 and the new Tiger Woods, but can't, or more accurately, shouldn't, buy both. If it's just in the States, I'll be very upset. Edit: For fuck's sake.

    The SummerSlam Thread

1.) Favourite SummerSlam show overall? 1998 was hands-down my favourite in my mark days, and it's still up there, thanks to the awesome storytelling of Austin-Taker. I'll say '91. 2.) Favourite world title match? Two immediately come to mind: Bret-Owen in the cage in '94, and Austin-Taker in '98. But, I actually had two others I'd bill: '06 and '97. I've always liked Edge as a heel, and watched '06 with a house full of Cena fans. I'm sure there'll be plenty of Bret on my list, so I'll give '06 the nod. 3.) Favourite mid card title match? I'm going to give an incredibly slight nod to Bret-Perfect. 4.) Favourite tag title match? TLC - 2000. Nothing even close that I can think of. 5.) Favourite non-title match? The Mountie vs. the Big Bossman, probably because of the next answer. 6.) Favourite segment? I'll second "Fuck it!". Also, though it doesn't count as a segment, Jesse Ventura's answer to Tony Schiavone of "Well, what if took out a gun and shot him? Would that be alright?" 7.) Things you hated besides Goldberg screwed out of winning the Elimination Chamber? Didn't see the EC, so I can't comment on that. I didn't like that the Warrior squashed HTM at '88. My intial answer can be found in question #9. 8. Least favourite SummerSlam overall? '95. 9. Least favourite match? DX vs. the McMahons. Made Big Show, Finlay, Kennedy, and all of the SS look like idiots. 10. Most underrated SummerSlam? Despite what I just said, '06 wasn't bad. The Flair-Foley "I quit", though the ending was anti-climactic, was fantastic. 11. Most underrated SummerSlam match? I'll agree with Hakushi vs. the 1-2-3 Kid.

Is this with pretty much the DLP technology itself, or just 1st-gen DLP, older DLP????? My folks' DLP was manufactured in 2007. I don't see it as unfair to blame the technology.

    The Old School questions thread

Bravo was involved in illegal cigarette smuggling; it is, or was, a very lucrative business. As I understand it, an operation that Bravo was part of went wrong, and a large shipment for cigarettes were confiscated, by the RCMP. This obviously upset a lot of dangerous people, and Bravo apparently fell foul of them. Evidence suggests that Bravo not only knew his killers but was comfortable being around them; there was no sign of forced entry, and Bravo was killed while sitting down and watching hockey on TV. Nobody has been charged in the crime, and likely never will be. As macabre as this must sound, the only details I knew of Dino's death: 1) It was from the mob, regarding cigarettes. 2) I recall hearing that he was shot 12 times in the head, the bullets forming a circle in his skull.

That pretty well answered it for me. Thanks! To return the favour: Pros: Fantastic contrast/colour reproduction, "bargain" in the sense that bigger sizes are cheaper than similar sized flat-panels. Though not flat, they're still fairly thin (my folks 61" is about eight inches deep), and they're certainly not as heavy as CRT of the same dimensions. Cons: As we've discussed, laggy; response time seems to be an issue. Now that I think of it, Guitar Hero looked like it was being played through rabbit ears with so much noise. Additionally, the lamp life is not as long lasting as a flat panel (exponentially shorter in most cases), and DLP's are prone to what's called a "Rainbow Effect". I've never seen it in person, but I'm told it makes the colours blend together. Marvin could probably explain that one a little better. I'm so disappointed with the lag on my folks DLP that I'm considering getting a Vizio plasma instead; The LCD's response time is decent at 6.5, but the 5 on the plasma sounds really good. As I often told customers who asked me, I fall asleep in front of the TV alot, which can't be good, but if the plasma has better response, better colour, and is 100 bucks cheaper, I may learn to be careful....

    Staying Productive

I'm in a similar predicament. Madden's keeping me busy; don't look at me for production in any way. Speaking of VX's habit transfers, anyone remember that Family Guy episode where he could only play the piano whilst drunk? There was a span of about two years where I was the same way with Halo.

I actually think a nine-team league is ideal; 16 games, home and away versus each team.

I have to know where Milky's vast resevoir of obscure Simpsons' pics is. My Simpsons thread withered and died, partly because of a lack of pics. Come to think of it, Gert (I think it was him), had a good one in the hockey draft, so maybe it's the Indian and not the arrow.
