I don't have a rebuttal list, but: a) I think WM14 made Austin more than 13, as least as far as influence. b) I don't know the story on #2. I'm not HTQ as far as wrestling knowledge or anything, but if it's so important and/or influential, shouldn't I know the story off-hand? I could see Sheik-Hogan from MSG in 84, and that's a stretch, as your list is missing: c) No Hulk-Andre?

2008 Stanley Cup playoffs - conference finals
CanadianGuitarist replied to CanadianChris's topic in Sports
What's he at? 100 or so games for that record, 4.5 years for the age record? It's tough to imagine him playing another five years (even for him), but shit, if anyone can pull it off, it's him. Or maybe the other guy in my last post, Gary Roberts. -
I'm going to go against the grain and start off between the pipes: I don't like him personally, but he's, in my opinion, the best goalie of all time. Even though I've cooled off on 'wins' as a stat, 534 is still nearly 18 years of 30-win seasons (and he played in an era with ties). Add that to three Conn Smythes - no one ever came to play like St. Patrick. Angle, the floor is yours.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

One day at work, someone put up signs for the Safety "Comitee". Before the day was out, someone had stuck up a piece of paper pointing out this typo. There was something else spelled wrong, but I can't remember exactly what...it was a work like, thinking, but they had written "thinnking", and the person who stuck up the paper also wrote "thinking has ONE n, not two". I simply could not resist the temptation to highlight both N's in the word, and add "Good job." By another day or two, they had removed all the signs, and replaced them with ones that had committee spelled properly. Before that week was out, someone actually CROSSED OUT one of the m's and one of the t's in committee every time it was used. I was flabbergasted. There's also a bunch of boxes labeled "Distroy". I don't understand why a company like Wal-Mart can't afford a few dictionaries. Now that I'm back at Wal*Mart, I'm going to agree with you. (I would have agreed anyway, but I'd forgotten a bit): There's a file cabinet by a Wal*Mart house brand that says 'cabient' - this is presumably so in every store in the country. Also, they're spelled 'clearance' and 'safety'. I hate it when people mispronounce 'vice-versa' as 'vica-versa'. -
It's a sad day for humankind if anything even remotely involved with Three Doors Down costs more than a good digital camera. I don't hate Three Doors Down, but 60? I paid 45 for Rush a few years ago. 45 FOR RUSH! Are they 25% lesser a band than TDD? I certainly don't think so.

2008 Stanley Cup playoffs - conference finals

Here's an interesting stat: Gary Roberts will claim the record for most years between Cups if Pittsburgh winds up winning this year. His stretch would be 19 ('89 in Calgary). The man he'd take the record can prevent Roberts from doing so: Chris Chelios, who went 16 years between Montreal's '86 win and '02 with the Wings. -
Right now, since my 3-day non-stop work marathon is now over. Let's do the 12-6-2-1 roster. The same guy can't be drafted twice under player/coach rules, as mentioned. You can draft an ex-player as a coach (or vice-versa) to your liking. For example, if you'd rather have Guy Carbonneau beind your bench instead of a two-way centre, go right ahead. Snake-like order draft, which I just drew at random. 1) CanadianChris 2) EHME 3) CanadianGuitarist 4) Angle Is God 5) UndertakerHart 6) KingOfThe909 7) Gert 8) MFerExtreme 9) Niskie 10) Treble 11) Smartly 12) Baron 13) Goblin Clock will be 24 hours - starting at 1 am eastern on May 15. Feel free to speed things up and submit your pick if it's your turn. Anyone who misses two straight picks will be disqualified, and have their roster thrown back in the pool. CC, lead us off.

Ditto. Ditto again.

Whaaaaaa? Why am I just learning of this now?
-
Sorry, guys. And I've got a soft spot for (Democrat) Paul Goydos.
-
I titled it the "NHL Draft", but I've got no problem with pre-NHL'ers.

Twenty men and coach = do it! Where's Nskie, Max, and Czech? I don't mind saying this would be lesser without the three of them.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

Though it was a bit frustrating, this didn't really anger me - it flabbergasted me, though: Went to the Blue Jays website to download Tom Cheek's call of Joe Carter's homerun off Mitch Williams in 1993. It's only available to US cell subscribers. -
Minesweeper always reminded me of that game on The Price is Right where you've gotta form the correct price of the car using a chain of numbers that you're standing around.

Doesn't dumping a body seem kind of careless or half-assed?
-
That seemed like a lot, but if there's only six or seven guys doing this, compared to the 16-or-so doing the NBA, 23 could be feasible.

I have a new all-time favourite sig.

Does Anyone Still Play World of Warcraft?
CanadianGuitarist replied to Red Baron's topic in Video Games
Hey Baron, Jay's response wasn't bad. When I saw he responded under my name, I was sure he'd call me gay or something. -
Tortorella hasn't been fired yet? It'd be cool to see him in Ottawa. I'd give everything I own to be a fly on the wall during a Tortorella-Murray argument.

Well your first problem is you aren't joining a guild. Guilds have players that will help each other out. Secondly, you need to be more diplomatic in the general chat or when chatting with players in the province you are leveling in. You should never be grinding for the first 30 levels of the game at least. Tons of quests to capitalize on. Perhaps move to another province. Just wait till lvl 40 when you get your first mount to ride. -
Awesome Wrestling Pictures

That's true, but the truth should not make it any less funny. The two Taker entrances, and Flair at the Citrus Bowl, are both fantastic. -
I like Staind, but that doesn't mean they don't suck. They're my early 2000's Hall & Oates.

Attendance is down, but I don't think 'trouble' is all that fair. It was like when Tiger was allegdly slumping in 2003. Detroit's got a lot to cheer for right now in the Pistons and the Tigers - still, 18,000 a game is hardly trouble. -
Jonathan Coachman leaving WWE for ESPN
CanadianGuitarist replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
I didn't mind him as a knock-off GM. I once described him as The Stuart Scott of the WWE. Square one, now. -
I'm kind of indifferent to this subject (speficially, an athlete I've never heard of, who presumably threw a dart at a map) - but Ortonsault: That's an oh snap reply! I mean shit, I had no idea what HIV stats were in the Phillipines, but if I were going to do HIV work in any way, I could name a dozen countries I'd likely go first. Check out my recent comment in CTDWAT here before replying (if there's an answer), but it's always been kind of rumoured that when a young Ben Hogan was carjacked, it was Byron Nelson who picked him up. Ben said in an interview that he didn't remember who it was. But there was always a kind of unspoken rivalry between him, Nelson, and Sam Snead (who were all born within six months of one another, all enjoyed golf success during the pre-PGA Tour days, shortly after WW2). Again, a reply to my CTDWAT post may supercede, but Ben Hogan, who you crappin'?
