This is the thread where we discuss animals fighting
CanadianGuitarist replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in General Chat
Ok, so we'll start with water-habitat animals. Submit two or three picks who you feel could make a run - if you want to be specific and nominate, say, Nile crocodile, go right ahead. If you just put 'crocodile', that's fine too. After nominating dies down, I'll put a bracket together, possibly along the lines of a global-based idea. Also, if it turns out that if vague nominees win out, I'll look for the most average of that species when I put pictures up for each match-up. I'll start with: Shark Whale Crocodile No team attacks (sorry, piranhas), and no weapons or anything. Each location will be as barren and neutral as possible. -
I've never heard of chicken and waffles. Can it go together with an ampersand?
-
My first vote, provided it doesn't go head-to-head with my nomination: Mac and cheese.

What's the benefit of an LCD rear projection? Wouldn't it make sense to go either one way with LCD, or another with CRT? I suppose I should point out that I'm not entirely sure if LCD RP uses CRT's or not - I thought it used three, the way a CRT RP does, and only the screen was LCD. Also, what's the lifespan of a DLP bulb? I've heard 3000 hours, but that sounds awfully low, doesn't it? That's only about 18 months at 6 hours a day, compared to the usual 40 or higher thousand hours of a flat-panel.

Did they actually invite Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton? If no: What, is this gonna be like Trump-Rosie last year? They didn't learn their lesson from that? If yes: Is a pro wrestling show in South Carolina a leftist hotbed all of a sudden?

2008 Stanley Cup playoffs - first round

And as Baron and I discuss the improved play of the Habs today, Phil Kessel undresses every player on Montreal, including the bench, to score a beauty. Tie game. -

I can't decide which I miss more: Any announcer but Bob Cole, or HD. It's tough to watch the Habs game with neither of those. It's also pretty tough to watch the Habs whatsoever - they're playing like they're lost right now (though not as badly as Thursday) - this is Boston's series to win at this point. At least Carey Price doesn't look too rattled. -

One I've noticed a lot with driving: People who block an intersection during a red light. If the light turns green, and the car ahead of you can't make it through the intersection because of backed-up traffic, don't just drive into the middle of the intersection if you can't go anywhere. Wait it out. The amount of times I've seen perpendicular traffic get fucked when their green light came up because some numpty thought to plow ahead needlessly. Guhhhhhhhhhh. -

You didn't answer the 20 Questions? I was just perusing through those actually, looking for something stupid Baron said. No such luck. -

I also don't get the ChocoChocoChocoChocoKhan thing. Wouldn't ChocoKhan, ChocoKhan, ChocoKhan be a wicked name for a Chocolate Socket variety of Right Said Thread/I'm Board Da Ba Dee Da Ba Di? -

Thanks for asking. To be fair, I often just don't shave, rather than specifically growing anything. Goats are classic, but if you're feeling daring, I had a Lemmy beard prior to that. As RB pointed out once, I once tried a Droz, but it doesn't come in between my lip and sideburns very well; If the latter above applies, and you can pull it off, run like the wind with it. -

OH REALLY?! Hockey predictions review will be done shortly. Also, I've noticed that everyone pretty well did what I did 30 hours ago: Posted, then re-read the thread from the beginning. I can pretty well say nothing I mentioned in the prior 18-month lifespan of this thread bothers me any less now. -

Do you often have buttsex at bank machines? If you do, then my realisation was not ironic. And, just because I feel like an online slapfight - I guess it doesn't come off as ironic to you, since you always need to have cash on hand when you get laid. -

I've noticed this a lot lately, or more accurately, it's been irritating me a lot lately: People who describe, say, a scene in a movie that has music in it. "First, she kills him. Then, ALL YOU HEAR is that song that played in the beginning" "All you see" seems to be said a lot as well. -
Owned. I'd hate to meet someone he considers a prick if he's an "overall nice guy".

I actually remember what ATM was today, ironically, while at a bank machine. -

Which games have you been getting the CBC feeds of, Nskie? I don't recall ever hearing the guy who's been doing the Calgary games (Mark Lee?), but so far so good. I can take or leave Bob Cole, who's been doing the Habs-B's, but Jim Hughson (who usually does the western games), who's doing Pittsburgh-Ottawa, is fantastic. -

Interestingly, the US is getting the CBC feed for some of the later games that they're playing on Versus. I feel bad that y'all are getting the inferior US feed, and the US is getting the Canadian one. Sorry about that. If you mean in the Studio, it's "Mad" Mike Milbury. The two of them are horrid together, it's such a forced shtick. Milbury is trying to create a quasi-Don Cherry persona, and him & McGuire do these stupid (and blatantly forced) arguments. The only good thing about Milbury's shtick is that he sometimes does the Bruins coverage for NESN and he's always willing to say the contrarian thing ... which is a breath of fresh air around here, normally it's everyone toeing the company line no matter how wrong it is. No, I meant Emrick. Trust me, I know Milbury - I've hated him as long as I can remember, and he's routinely an ass on the TSN panel. In my opinion, though I don't think it'll be disputed, Nonis' lack of activity at the trade deadline is what cost him his job. Also, thank you Al. I had been to baseball reference a few times, but never had it bookmarked for some reason. I also had a so-so hockey history site favourited, but these are both fantastic. Thanks, eh? -
How's Wayne Gretzky doing? He's like 45. Walter would be a good pick, but I'd almost feel worse about picking him than Wayne.

I noticed that too, and it's distressing - Cuthbert is one of my favourites ever. Who does the NBC games with McGuire? I've heard him a few times so far and don't recognise him. -
98 was a good one - fuck, imagine if Jack had won. I also remember Furyk and Azinger having chances to get into a playoff with their last hole as well (although it wouldn't have mattered with O'Meara birdieing the last two anyway). I get the US Open vibe a bit, but not so much this year as the last two or three. They almost made the course easier in a few places for this year, getting rid of trees and shifting tees. I mean, yeah, they did add some length, but the course didn't give me an all-around demanding impression the way it did in '06 and '07. I'll remember the high scores this year and last year due to tough conditions more than I will for the course's difficulty.

As shitty his act in Game 3 was four years ago, he scored 35 this year. It wasn't a bad deal when it happened, but Dallas made out like bandits, regardless of how we feel about him.
