That's a lofty standard to compare it to; I equate Mickelson's breakthrough to the BoSox or Benoit's wins of that year as well. As far as excitement, I'd say only 86 was better.

Where are we partying, Baron? From what your fiancee told me about my drunken antics yesterday, BP is out. I have BP conditions.

They never had milkmen in Canada? They were fairly common in the States around forty or fifty years ago (so my elders tell me) You know what? I was gonna make a good-natured snotty remark back. Then I was going to question whether or not you were being sarcastic. But now? I'm pondering it myself. I'm sure they were, but I've never heard any elderly person ever mention one. And hells yes to the Red Stripe. Slogan of 'Hoooooooray, Beer!' was pretty well my mantra in college.

I saw the last line in practise constantly when I was in retail. As for the tickers? The earlier, the better. I hate to sound arrogant, but the general public are either: stupid, lazy, careless, or indifferent, if not a combination of both. The more press this gets, the better. Who makes Vizio? I saw a fantastic deal on one today at Costco - I'm not buying a new set until I get my own place again in the fall, but if all Vizio's are that much of a bargain (sounds like they are), that might be the one I pick up. The reviews on them have been great, and they do seem priced really well; just curious who was behind them.

16 was so symbolic of his day. Good tourney, as always, despite a fairly slow day Sunday.

2008 Stanley Cup playoffs - first round

I only saw the second period, but they didn't look good defensively at all - I can recall three times where there was a Bruin(s) in front of the net alone. The PP has been disappointing (it was indeed the league's best), but penalty killing has been surprisingly good across the board so far. San Jose, as just shown on HNIC, has a toilet seat hung in their dressing room, with someone's picture underneath it. They won't say who. Ron Wilson thinks it's him, and that he'll be flushed if the Sharks don't get through this series. I wonder if we'll see a Rachel Phelps cut-out in Round 2. Oh yeah, Marc Savard is no longer my boy for the next 2-7 days. -
What's the story about that? It's never quite been revealed why/what, but Vince left commentary mid-match to tell Shawn and Mankind something. It actually came up here a few months ago, the consensus being he was telling them to go home, since it was nearly 1045.

Isn't that French for something (legit)? Edit: yeah, to grate, or something. Befitting, as that picture is GREAT!

I've never heard of anyone delivering milk. That in itself is kind of awesome.

When does Ron MacLean sleep during the playoffs, if ever? -
Post here if you dislike Will Ferrell...

He's had his moments, and on a scale of ten, like....five and change. He is not a comedy great by any stretch. -
Good day for past champs. Sandy Lyle shoots a 72 (reminiscent of Tommy Aaron's Thursday 72 in 2000). His 98 predecessor, Mark O'Meara, is -1. Didn't Gay Brewer shoot 72 on Thursday sometime this decade? I wanna say he did.

Fuckin Thomas. Not one hit in SIX at bats. Four K's, two walks. Jays get swept, when they could have won all three (although Tuesday was a stretch).

Pun intended? The Flames just killed 85 minutes of 5-on-3 (it was actually three, during most of which Sarich had no stick), and are now shorthanded again. Kipper is reminiscent of 04. As it happens, with the Jays game going 12, every bit of Flames hockey I've seen tonight, they've been shorthanded. Fuck. 2-0. Yep, Sharks on the PP. -

Not that two wrongs make a right, but if the Leafs finished the year in fir.....hahaha, I can't even finish that statement. However, the Kovalev thing is fair of you. Balanced scoring, competent defence, solid goaltending, and great special teams got the Habs into the playoffs, not just Kovalev. -
You missed the chip-in for eagle at 15 after two straight bogeys. A bogey at 13? He must've dunked one into Rae's Creek.

My buddy, a Sens fan, texted me to the same effect - why the hate for the singing? It's the fuckin playoffs, and it's been a little shy of two years since our last playoff game. Edit: The fuck? Why/when have my sig and avatar been reset? I deleted some cookies the other day when my internet was clunky, is that it? Or is this part of the email address login rigamarole? Or, Treble-based sabotage since I'm a Habs fan? Yeah, Baron doesn't have the Falkland thing anymore - Treble's fingerprints are all over this. -
Never missed a cut, and tied for 3rd in 2006. Incidentally, he shares the cut streak record with Gary Player at 23, which he'll break this year if he plays the weekend. What's this about Tiger waking up? I didn't see him play at all today, but he finished at even.

My Mickelson-Palmer parallel gives me a 1A pick. KJ Choi finishes top 5. And I'm gonna say Couples is in the mix on Sunday. He's been playing well, lately - fifth last week and first-round leader at Bay Hill.

Even though I agree with Lundqvist, can I reserve my homerism for a controversial call in a few weeks? -
A win by Mickelson would really start to parallel Palmer, who won green coats in alternate years from 1958-1964. Interestingly, Mickelson's also run-up in the US Open in 02, 04, and 06.

There's a bit of a Boston-Montreal vibe to it, though. There is, or should be, a tonne of pressure on San Jose, playoff underachivers since 1998. Still, there's no doubt I'm playing the odds by picking the Flames. -

With little steam, this thread heads into the Masters, featuring, for the first time ever, a televised Par 3 contest tomorrow afternoon.
