I was going to post that re: his Sesame Street thread. Instead, I didn't. "When Elmo came on, and I was like 'done' " got an incredibly hearty laugh from me.
-
My bad, it's a 42". The only two I see on there now are a 32 and a 42.
-
Cammalleri could hit 40, but the Flames also getting scoring out of pretty well everyone else as well.

Nope not yet, but my plans may be put on hold a little while longer since our tax return might not end up as big as we initially thought... The Sceptre you were looking at is down to 599. The Panasonic plasma I had my eye on is down to 899 - that's 400 cheaper than 2001 Audio Video, where I was looking at it. Plus, free shipping in the States (a buddy of mine will let me ship it to his place), and a sensible amount of sales tax (compared to roughly 45% in Ontario).

HEY, CANADIANGUITARIST... YOUZA STRAIGHT BITCH!

Why was this given three stars? -
I thought I was the only one who remembered the unexplained absence of Bam Bam-Kamala. YKRG, you're basing your case with GameFaqs as your defence? Good save. EDIT: Fuckin Venk, beat me to it, that magnificent bastard.

Shit, I missed this altogether. I'm gonna have to pick 'er up.

This is a frightening, frightening time. Is Zach Parise a Hart nominee?

He's kind of like Quebec - don't really want him, but don't really want 'em gone either. -

Wouldn't it have made sense to post Iginla instead of Laracque....since, you know - Iginla, perhaps the league's best player, plays for your Flames. Laracque, posted by EMHE, plays for the Habs. Groan. -
And here I was, after a night of KoaBoarding and Faceboozing, thinking: Hey, nothing wrong, embarassing, or otherwise nonsensical! Oh, edit button.

I'm too drunk to find the Niger, Please map. Didn't Keenan get Chicago to the finals in '91? You can make a strong case at any given point in the season, the best three at their positions are Iginla, Phanuef, Kipper. Calgary wins the NW and disposes of a young Phoenix or Edmonton squad, or a Minnesota with a pouting Gaborik on the bench. I'm not saying the finals (or even the Western finals) are a gimme, but Calgary's in good shape right now. Anaheim isn't a ridiculous choice, but I don't see it happening.

I don't know who said that, but they're blatantly wrong. you canadian twits. its because every major sport is in session. mlb playoffs. almost halfway through the nfl season. and there is a lot of enthusiasm for the beginning of the nhl and nba seasons. don't discount the beginning of playoffs for the cfl, too. cmon men. You come on. MLB is starting, NHL playoffs, stretch drive for the NBA, March Madness. CC will have my back on this, as it'll be a tough sell on anyone who doesn't like golf, but the Masters is absolutely everything that's right about sports. I have no idea what will happen in the West.

No fucking Ray Bourque on defence? Nothin else to see here.

I had one on Hardcore Hockey Talk a few weeks ago. It is kinda cool to have them say your name on air, isn't it? What was your email? Both were pro-Boston Bruin. Yuck. Three emails make it on per show: the first is whomever answers trivia correctly the quickest, then the two emails related to the 'Question of the Night". Steve Kouleas called my latter email 'elite', and Mark Osborne said "excellent point, Brian from St. Kitts". Part of me wishes I could have had the Quizno's gift card given to the trivia winner.

I disagree. The Rangers will likely wind up in fourth, fifth or sixth. (I'm going to assume the three division leaders remain so). The Rangers would likely beat the Habs, who they've played consistently well against the last two seasons. As good as Washington is at home, their road record is still a little shaky for me to get behind them as a playoff team - they're also a fairly young team, so while I'm not selling them short, I don't think I'm quite on their playoff bandwagon yet. Of the three teams New York would likely play, New Jersey would frighten me the most as an opponent, but they do play the Devils six times a year, so they should have some idea of what they're up against. Does anyone actually see Pittsburgh missing the playoffs? I know there's a lot of hockey left, and a lot can happen, but realistically, teams 1-6 in the East right now will make the playoffs - they're all more than good enough, plus they'll all be shopping on March 4. That leaves two spots for Buffalo, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Florida and maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Toronto to fight over. As a Raiders fan, I'm beginning to see where my Dad's coming from: "Hey, great, you played a great final few weeks, wound up with a decent record. But, you screwed yourself out of some good draft picks and even if you made the playoffs, then what? Get clobbered in Round 1?" I won't even touch the Al Davis-Harold Ballard comparisons. This could be one of the more interesting trade deadlines in a while: What does Buffalo do? They're basically the same team that was praised for its depth during its two runs to the East finals. Does Florida gamble and assume it has a playoff spot? What happens if they miss and they lose a pending UFA (acquired at the deadline) and Bouwmeester? What do they do on deadline day if they're shopping; what goalies will be available? Maybe Joseph or Toskala, Gerber, Cloutier, or Raycroft? Edit: Olaf Kolzig or Manny Legace don't sound tooooo bad. Jesus Christ, look at the western standings - St. Louis, in fifteenth spot is SIX back of a playoff spot. Would someone remind me again why October is a better time of year for sports than late March - early April?

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

Surely EMHE has called someone here a honky or cracker. -
Get used to it, although his trade value has to have taken a severe dip with an injury this close to the deadline. Since Bob mentioned his Cup favourite earlier, I thought it'd be fun to take a look at our pre-season finalists. How proud/ashamed are you of them? What changes, if any, would you make? I'm sure a few of you would like to: 909: Tampa over Montreal, Detroit over Dallas TakerHart: Montreal over New York, Detroit over San Jose Smartly : Montreal over New York, Dallas over Calgary Max: Washington over Pittsburgh, Dallas over Detroit Angle: Montreal over Pittsburgh, Detroit over Dallas Chris: Pittsburgh over Montreal, Detroit over Minnesota CG: Montreal over Boston, Detroit over Chicago Czech: Washington over Pittsburgh, Detroit over Chicago Someone named Hitman: San Jose over Philly Maybe my most hated Def Leppard song: Montreal over Boston, Detroit over Calgary Fartsauce: New York over Montreal, Detroit over Dallas Nightwing: Montreal over Philly, Detroit over Dallas Dallas has snuck into sixth place in the volatile ground that is spots 5-11 in the Western, so I'd say only 909 has a guaranteed X on his picks at this point.

Did you decide between the two links, Mike? I talked to a guy at a gaming store a few days ago, and he swore up and down Sceptre were a phenomenal TV.
-
Blockbuster, at least in Canada, is re-introducing minimum $10 credit for trade-ins on current-gen systems. I thought I was stuck with those four 2k6 games. Booyah!
-
When is Brodeur back? I don't entirely disagree with you, but I don't like Scott Clemmensen as my playoff goalie. On the other hand, Weekes did get Carolina through the first round in their '02 run to the finals.
-
The Isles have won three in a row. Doesn't remove that title, but it's something to consider. On that note, Washington ended New Jersey's winning streak last night. The Devils had, pretty quietly, won 8 in a row.

^ Awesome.

Though it was from 9am-5pm due to a graveyard shift the previous night, I had an extraordinarily good sleep yesterday.

It's noon, and I'm already drunk! Woooooooo!
CanadianGuitarist replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in No Holds Barred
Barron, 'drunk, coke using moron' should have read 'drunk, coke-using moron'. No hyphen suggests that a bottle of Coca Cola, is, like, paying a dumb guy very little money to do his laundry or grocery shop for him, or something. Not that I'm that picky about punctuation, but the idea of a jerk soft drink avoiding mundane humanly tasks wherever possible amuses me. General Chat, here I come.
