It's this time of year that I really kick myself. I just haven't been able to make the jump from casual to hardcore fan the way I did I've done with golf and football.

Watch the third-period highlights of tonight's game at the HSBC. You'll warm up to it.

Equity, despite what I said five posts above, is a big deal to me if I can get a mortgage for around the same price as rent. I'm going to need a new car when I come back from out West, and having paid rent on a house (not an apartment) for the last 2.5 years, that's probably 5 grand in equity I could have saved up, let alone my last two tax returns.

Colorado and Edmonton are your winners in the two western games. Colorado moves into a tie for 7th with Calgary at 86 points, only three back of first-place Minnesota. The Oil are still three back, Nashville four, and even Chicago are only six behind. What a crazy two weeks this is going to be.

Did you say law forbids sale of booze until 8? That's awesome. It's 11 in Ontario. Yeah, I'll be up. There's only so much spring training you can watch before it salts the wound.

Thanks. You could be the best new poster we've had in a while!

This seems like fun, but I'm not sure there's five things interesting about me that I haven't mentioned at one time; I had a similar fear when I took the Jeopardy contestant exam - Nearly all my good me stories have no place on a G-rated tv show. I'll give it a shot.

No, not at all. This just means that baseball season starts earlier for me than last year. Six hours. I might wake up that early tomorrow morning. And tell me this isn't the story of the Sens' year between the pipes: Gerber gets the hook in the first after allowing three, but Emery does no better, allowing four. The Habs take a 7-1 lead into the third, where the Sens score four times - giving Emery the loss.

I'd say 500 hockey in the four against the Sabres and Leafs gets the B's in. I've said this before, but Washington is too green (no pun intended) to hang on for another two weeks, and Florida can't be this good.

How much bigger was Bret's contract? He said he was making 2.8 mil a year - is that really that much further ahead than what Hogan or the Outsiders got? I don't think them making 2mil a year was a stretch.

I haven't accepted that he's white yet.

I've noticed that with CBC as well. It seems like they have a higher quality HD feed they use for national broadcasts and a lesser quality one for the other games (including the 10 PM game sometimes). I don't know the technical details well enough to explain why but there is a definite difference. My assumption is every camera isn't HD, but they stretch them out. That's certainly the case with the netcams. Isn't it awful? Speaking of awful, I'm glad I didn't bet anything tonight. I would have bet my house on Pittsburgh and Ottawa, but they're losing 3-1 and 4-1 at the moment.

Questions to be answered by the next person to post in the thread

SaveOnFoods Centre in Victoria. I've often wondered if most corporate named venues are bad by design, and we just got used to them...would someone from Vancouver groan upon hearing Air Canada Centre? Also, Great American Ballpark and Nationwide Tour are exceptions to this rule. -
Similarly, my Itunes won't convert WMA's I got off Bearshare into AAC if they're protected. Anyway I can bypass that, or convert WMA into MP3?

I hate to do this here since it involves HD, and I hate even more to agree with Nick Kypreos, who just said this on whatever show is being simulcast on the FAN 590: "After the Leafs-Sens Saturday, in high-def, CBC switched to Boston-Montreal, not in high-def (it was though). I've gotta say, I could hardly watch. It's like my daughter took off my eyeglasses, licked them, then put them back on." Four games on tap tonight. Pittsburgh should take care of Long Island, but three big ones for playoff positioning: Ottawa-Montreal, Calgary-Colorado, Minnesota-Edmonton.

Geoff Ogilvy closes with eight straight pars for a one-under 71 and a -17 total; good enough to win by one over Singh, Furyk, and Goosen, who all finished one back at -16. Tiger finishes fifth at -15. All players mentioned not named Ogilvy fired 68 in the final round. So Ogilvy, along with his win at the 2006 Match Play becomes one of three players to have double WGC wins.

Good to know, also. I'm not buying a house out west, just going out there to work for a while. I just assume there's a lot of Mikes in Calgary - invariably my discussions with the locals would get heated, since I'm a hippie (as you could obviously tell me, KKK). After playing around with the mortgage calculator a little further, I found a rate of 5.5 percent, which given the house I looked at, meant 575 a month over 40 years, but only 31.7 if I do the accelerared bi-weekly. That did include the CMHC insurance, but not homeowner's and property taxes (estimated by the realtor's website to be around 775 a year). That means slightly more than a third of my income in a month would go to mortgage/taxes, which doesn't seem outrageous. Also, I decided to save up a little more money off my Calgary budget towards a down payment, and moreso, buying appliances and furniture (or even financing them from wherever I buy). The difference in rates from a regular to cashback mortgage was more than 3%. Incidentally, I had actually been renting a house, not an apartment, for the last 2.5 years, so my utilities estimates would be about right.

I still can't believe he's white. Imagine how many kids who were affected looking for pictures of Squirt from Finding Nemo

Oof. I still think I'm the only person alive who won't eat those, but it's easy to explain - I've never liked food that was really rich or gooey. Mentioning my dislike of cheesecake often gets me the same look of shock that most of you probably got reading this.

And the Isles are officially finished, losing their 200th straight game by a score of 4-1 to Philly.
-
And we wait till tomorrow with the rain. Ogilvy still leads by two, but a good field on his tail, including three major winners two strokes back in Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh, and Retief Goosen.

Hack. Actually, I take that back. Run with that in Graphics. I had meant to, but it seemed attention-whory of me to start such a thread after bringing it up in here, plus I didn't know what to do outside of the thread title. I suppose it could have been a photoshop of her with darker skin or something, but that's an awful lot of work for really no reason. At least Paint Marvin was funnier than shit.

Where the fuck is the Chris Hansen pic? For chrissakes, we're 30 posts in! THIRTY!

I haven't been back since the JayMac Dontcha incident. I don't miss it.

Want yet another reason to hate Johnny Miller? (I might have this slightly off, but the quote by Miller is letter perfect). Earlier today, Adam Scott and Geoff Ogilvy, paired with Tiger in the last group, are keeping ahead, as Tiger pars along. With Ogilvy in the lead, Scott lines up a birdie putt, which would tie him for the lead with his fellow Aussie. Set the scene for us, Johnny: Fucking idiot. He could have shot four straight rounds of 63 at Oakmont and I'd still hate his commentary.
