When did the Vince McMahon of Hockey say that? For someone who's as intelligent as Burke is hockey-wise, I really hope it wasn't recently. Come to think of it, saying it in October or November only means more egg on his face anyway; Good on him. You can underline that with Edmonton's win today, in which they played about 53-1/2 minutes of top-notch hockey. Baron was spot on: Iginla's hat trick, two guys named Pouliot getting their first of the year against Alberta-based teams, a shootout in Montreal, a blowout in Steel City, the aforementioned Oilers win, and an phenomenally entertaining Leafs win? What a day for hockey, indeed. I'm sorry, Max.

Given my lifelong hatred for HBK, I'm not sure how fairly I can answer this. But no. I know he can still work and all that, but any title he gets, it could be argued, would be a nostalgia run. They don't work.

Good gamer of pickup hockey at Rexall. The Oilers started the third with a 4-1 lead, routinely capitalizing on lazy defence by the Avs. Colorado stormed back to tie it by the four-minute mark of the third, and Edmonton just took it again. Marc Pouliot with his first of the year.

Why learn anything else? That's fuckin awesome that you can play that.

Roomate thing. On the other hand, I'll stick out like a sore thumb in Calgary with all the Tories - and we haven't even addressed that I'd be living with Manley. Are you staying in Fort Mac? When are you leaving? My tentative plan is to come home Canal Days/Mini-Masters/King of the Wing weekend, and stay if I'm miserable; if not, stay in Alberta till mid-fall. What will RB and CG plot next? Find out next time on Things we probably didn't need to discuss here theatre

Can someone explain to me, as I do my ProLine homework, why I'm struggling with the thought of picking a Leafs-Sens winner? No Sundin, and the Leafs play on back-to-back nights? CC, ball's clearly in your court.

Questions to be answered by the next person to post in the thread
CanadianGuitarist replied to a topic in Sports
Next question: If you could apply any one facet of the pros to your own game, what would it be? Any sport, and either the pros in general or a specific one. Example: Throwing a 90 mph fastball, the precision of a Tom Brady pass from 40 yards, etc. -
I came around on both of those after years of just slathering it in hot sauce; It's much much better with the two peppers.

He should be the next "Let's get to know" (Are we still doing those?). To my knowledge, he's the only current poster in TCS purgatory. As such, he has a kind-of-fucked-up-Edge-circa'98 mystique to him.

Beat me to it. My real guitar work has suffered a bit since GH was introduced to me last April. There was discussion a few months ago whether I played, or my name was a gimmick. I genuinely have been playing since I was 9-1/2 (I'm currently 23). I have an Ibanez electric and a Bentley acoustic (yard sale, bay-bee!). I mostly play metal and power chord shit. For about 5 or 6 years, all I played was blues, which I still do pretty often on my acoustic. Interestingly, I wanted to play drums when I was 5 or 6.

What pisses me off about that clip was not only the match itself, but the first listed link to it: Rhino vs. Chris Daniels from ECW in '99. My two favourite big men in history, both criminally misused in the E.

Something to consider indeed, especially given how you answered my question (I didn't realise interest compounded the way, say, my credit card would, I thought it was all from the initial borrowing, like my example). I looked a little harder at mortgage rates over the last hour or so; I think I'm better off working in Calgary for another 3 months (or yecch, staying at home rent-free for a little while)and getting my list of things to buy from my own pocket instead of the banks. Cashback mortgages were 7.5% from PC and 8.05% from TD, compared to anywhere from 4.25 to 5.75 for ones that didn't have such a perk; Using a mortgage calculator again, it made accelerated bi-weekly at around 600 a month (for a house of $120). That I can do, especially since I had mis-added my monthly budget and was overcharging by 100. Thanks, all.

And says Bob McKenzie, roughly 2/3 of GM's don't want no-touch icing. Granted, I have nowhere near the hockey knowledge of any of them, but it's time to insititute NTI. The neckguard-rule suggestion that was tossed around after Zednik's horrific injury was fairly knee-jerk, and Zednik was a fluke (not that I'd be opposed to the introduction of neck guards). But the type of injuries like we saw on Wednesday are not one-of-a-kind, and not all that rare - it's time to bring it in.

My rent isn't going up at all, I just wanted to own a house for the sake of owning one. The place I was at for the last year and a half was 750 plus bills, so about 1200 a month. (As mentioned, I had roomates, which I don't want). The place was probably worth about 85,000. I thought if I paid 500 a month for mortgage and 350 or so for bills, it'd definitely be worth it. I don't particularly want to live in an apartment or condo/townhouse - with many condo fees covering utilities, it might work out to about the same as my budget.

Interesting changes in the standings. Philly moves ahead into 7th with their shootout win tonight. With a lead late in the third, looks like Toronto wil move to five back of Boston for eighth. This negates the ground Buffalo would have gained with a point. Instead, they go from one to two back, and Washington also loses ground, assuming Atlanta hangs on. Edit: The Isles win over the Devils, which drops New Jersey to fourth and moves Pittsburgh into second; Why is that? They both have identical records. I noticed that New Jersey had fewer goals, and it looked like, from a glance, Pittsburgh had a better goal differential. Is that what determines positioning in a tie? Or head-to-head results?

Niagara. I have no qualms about my credit, it's 675; It's money I'm worried about.

Based on what Baron told me of the West Edmonton Mall, you'll be in the Mall of America for awhile. Also, I didn't know you were into hockey; if you're not, and you're going for a lark, you chose potentially one of the best games all year to see.

Bruiser Chong's Birthday Celebration
CanadianGuitarist replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in No Holds Barred
Edit: Have yourself a big, juicy, birthday. -
In time for tomorrow night's back end of the home-and-home, no less.

Yes, hair dye does not exist in Japan. Dye or not, how many blonde Asian women have you seen, anywhere, ever?
-
Top right - is she blonde? This is huge!
-
Burnt to a crisp, or bloody as hell? I'll go with medium.

The LNT4061 is a great set, and a good price. 8ms is actually pretty good for an LCD. The set I decided on, however, was the 42LB5D. I'm not actually buying either until I buy my house in the fall, but I've spent about two months comparing them. The screen size isn't a stellar difference, and since I'm dreaming right now, the 200-dollar difference in price isn't a big deal, either. The 5ms response is what does the trick for me as a gamer, however - something to consider if you're going to do some gaming. But the 4061 is a great set. Samsung are, for my money, the best put-together sets. As I mentioned above, the DNIe processor does a great job on standard broadcasts. The specs on the 4061 are great (all of the LNT60/70 series, for that matter), along with full 1080p, QAM tuner, great contrast ratio, plenty of inputs - go for it.

That would have been interference any other time. My guess is they let it slide given the score and gametime.

And their team pitchers are only 29.95 on Clifton Hill, compared to 34 in town. This, of course, is good marketing, as food prices are about 30% higher. 2.50 drinks on Fridays at Big Bucks. Used to be 2 dollars. I guess they're trying harder to keep the high school kids out.
