Remember my buddy Ian Shantz from college? Kicked my ass at crokinole second year. Haven't played since. My bro and I played it all the time as kids.

Careers! My grandmother has that game when I was about ten; I had never heard of it, and to this day, I'm the only one I know who has played it. That's awesome. My friend Adriana and I are in the midst of a best-of-seven Scrabble series. The winner gets lunch, including drink, dessert, and tip, at our favourite restaurant. I thought I was pretty good, I scored in the low 200's both games so far; she's hit 300 both times.

No, it is cheating. It is, however, delicious. I've always preferred Glosette peanuts to raisins.

$3 and $4 dollar pitchers! I was going to post my usual Saturday night eat at the Belmont: $11 pitcher and $2.25 hot dog platter FTW.

Adze is my favourite little big word.

I just saw all three. What a beauty his first one was.

I keep reading the thread as "Urban Leena". Did we figure out if she was Boff? She must have been. If that's true, give her the Benoit treatment. If not, let her back.

In other news...... What a crazy night, again! The Rangers beat the Devils in a shootout, 2-1. The Devils took an early lead 1-0, and incredibly, the game wasn't boring, but instead, pretty entertaining. Rangers get the tie with about three minutes to play. The Devils do get the OT point, giving them first alone, with a game at hand. Buffalo scores SIX straight, to overcome a 4-1 third-period deficit to win 7-4. This helps them leapfrog Washington, at least for now. Looks like it'll be for at least a few more days, too: Chicago opened with four first-period goals.

As much of a fan of Halak's as I am, to say that this goaltending duo with its obvious wealth of experience is going to be unstoppable is one of the most Habs fan biased things I have ever heard. And yes Halak is better than price.......Don't ask Canadian Guitarist though....He doesn't know who Halak is, and is still waiting for the NHL debut of some french canadian goalie named "Lesac" As much as I liked moving huet, save for getting nothing for him, It'll be a few years until either goalie can show they are the long term goaltending solution for the habs. How's Christian Hueslius doin this year, fucko?

I suggested this for Leena. LEENA! Surely Slayer has, within easy grasp, my approval of him during nominations of the TSM Best tourney. My drunken elephant noises will no longer be as fun. Farewell, Hoff. My favourite poster Nah, fuck it. He'll probably be back.

I don't like black licorice, but I do like black jujubes and jelly beans. Go figure.

I'd be intrigued as to the city criteria, as it's in Beamsville, but I didn't see it in St. Catharines. I didn't hear anything about it being a farewell thing.

The Leafs beat the Islanders 2-1, but the game will be remembered for Rob Davison's goal on Toskala. Didn't see it? You will. I won't ruin it, but it'll be all over the sports shows.

Did you pull that from my Facebook album? Also, no one got my line "Yes, that should provide adequate substinence for the Dr. Who marathon".

September 15 is Mexico's independence day.

Just one? I must hate a lot of 'em if it's Tiger that prompted comment.

Why is it that so many, including me, root against Tiger? With Bellicheck, there was an alibi to rooting against the Patriots. But I'm enjoying watching the Rockets win all these games in a row. The thought of them winning 25 or 30 or 35 games in a row seems pretty cool, and while it's lessened because of the World Series, I loved the story of the Rockies this year. I mean, for nearly 15 years, Tiger has broken records, smashed records, and had records invented because of him. There's legitimate sports history being made, yet I find myself hoping to miss a putt on Sunday afternoon.

Never been to Toronto, have you? And honestly? I'll be the first to admit most Hab fans, including myself (and certainly the media) are a pretty fickle bunch.
-
And on to Doral, where Tiger's won three straight CA championships. Additionally, he's won the last three tour events at Doral: CA last year, the Ford Championship in 2006, and the ridiculously entertaining 2005 Ford Championship.

Who? Hey, that means it's a good answer. -
Noticed this while looking at LCD's: Is there any reason why a 1920 x 1080 resolution is more common in larger screen sizes? Just a coincidence? Bigger screen size = more money, anyway? Technological limitations? I was looking at 32-40 inch screens; I don't think any of the 32's I looked at had it, maybe 1/3 of the 37's, and about half of the 40's.

Spot on. On that note, since I think "Who's the most deserving not in the Hall" was already asked, who's the least deserving player that is in? Any sport. -
No, I expect them to win a lot of 5-4 type games. Anything Gerber can give us is a bonus. The Sun had an article on the back page yesterday on how Emery could be cut for only a $500K cap hit per year over the next four years. I was pretty happy to hear that. My dad and I were discussing that yesterday: Do buy-outs count against the cap? From what it sounds, the entire salary isn't paid, but there's a penalty. If the player is under 26 years old, only half his salary counts against the cap if he's cut. (Emery will be 26 in September.) The team is allowed to spread it over a four-year period. What if he's older than 26? Full salary? If that's the case, I might sing a different song on the Leafs needing to buy out McCabe, Kubina, and Raycroft.

Two teams who have quietly stayed in the playoff race: The Oilers are 8-2 in their last ten (including stopping San Jose's 11-game winning streak yesterday, in OT, of course) to get five back of eighth-place Vancouver. In the East, Florida's got it to just two points back, winning seven in a row,

The basement of my folks old house flooded in 2002; I came home to have my room renovated about a week later, including, which I still haven't figured out, a six-inch-long piece of wood about a foot over my head. Six inches is a pretty generous estimate - Slayer thinks I look like David Cross, but it's more like the animated guy from Forrest City Auto Parts with a beard. Oh yeah, I moved into another bedroom about a month later.
