    The Old School questions thread

If memory serves, he never hand-picked them or anything like that, but it began by the two of them helping him 'train' for McMahon's match against Austin.

Yes. The stupidity of people is that they don't realise it's a joke, and think they're being worked. My buddy carried a picture of Snap, Crackle, and Pop in his wallet as recently as 2004. He thought he looked like one of them, and thought that would be a good conversation starter. Did the same thing for a spell in 2002 with Nitz from Undergrads.

I have never, do not currently, or will never, like Creme Eggs. Yuck. Mini-Eggs are still the king of Easter, despite a quality effort from Hershey Eggies. I suppose king of Easter candy is a more appropriate denomination, but I like how mine sounded.

That's a bad omen for my forthcoming job interview.

For all the stupidity I see in a shift at work, nothing has quite opened my eyes to the overwhelming stupidity of people like Diamond Shreddies. This is most fun to say in a voice like Tim Allen talking like a mother-in-law: "Well, oh my god, they've always been diamond. That's so stupid. They really had to come up with those? How gullible do they think we are?"

Bounty is miles ahead of Mounds. Did Czech just say he was from New England?

I demand respect for my comment earlier. Fucking gold. Cadbury's Crunchie features, what they claim to be, a honeycomb centre. In England, as you all know, there's a variety of terms that are said differently compared to North America. Elevators are often referred to as lifts, for example. Honeycomb, for another example, is actually the British colloqiasm(sic) for "styrofoam".

Remember in '04, when we toppled the Bruins? This is a much different kind of confidence.

Sen-sens, despite sounding like pandas, look like condoms. That's befitting, because.... Fuck you, Czech. Mounds are awesome.

I assume. I've never actually seen one. I just really wanna prove my friend wrong. If nothing else, I should tell him to blow me as I'm more than happy with my TV, but, you know, thats not as good.

We'll see with Calgary-Phoenix, and Cujo, who as CC mentioned, gets another start. The Flames were up 2-0 before I left the bar. Oh yeah. FIRST PLACE!

    Xbox 360

Alright, I'll try again with the first question, as we've just argued about it. My TV does 720p/1080i via component, and 1080p via HDMI. What happens if run my 360 using the component-HDMI connection kit?

    Xbox 360

Three things. Incredibly, asking these on Gamefaqs became a flame war. 1) I also brought this up in the HDTV folder. My buddy claims my tv is "junk" on the grounds that it only has 1080p input, and not output. He bases that on his claim that "360 only has 720p signal, it has to output a 1080p signal". True? Though I've never really looked, I haven't seen too many tv's that had component or HDMI out... 2) Does the 360 upconvert on it's own, or just with the HD-DVD add-on? I understand it's gotta be done via HDMI or VGA. 3) Finally, I've also heard claims that a network card for WiFi on computers will do the same trick as this. Though I just answered my own question, I always thought it connected via ethernet, and not USB.
  15. My favourite, in no order, are Tom Cheek, Danny Gallivan, Vin Scully, Jim Hughson, and Paul Romanyuk. They're probably not the best ever, certainly not the last two, but they're mine. Also, how easy do you think it would be to sweep the betting under the rug? That seems like a pretty big thing for the PR guys of a franchise to deal with (although I agree with the arena/casino statement), when the first thing that comes to mind with most people and Vegas is gambling. Edit: Swap Scully and Romanyuk for Foster Hewitt and Chris Cuthbert. Order remains the same.

    WWE 24/7 Discussion - March 2008

I'd forgotten how good Taker-Orton was from Wrestlemania 21. I'll have to check out the rest of the shorties, especially with my Anthology collection in storage. I don't recall seeing either on the list here, but Taker-Flair from 18 and Shamrock-Rock from 14 are my two sleeper faves.

    HDTV

Two more things about resolution: First: Is 1920 x 1080 really that necessary? Are that many things broadcast in 1080i, compared to 720p, especially considering how many sports I watch? If the native res is 1920x1080, and I watch a lot of 720p television, aren't they going to be stretched out, ala an upconverting DVD player (which I have still been recommending, even with the HD DVD news). I mean, as I've eluded, I didn't notice a difference. Is my Asian friend going to complain that my TV's native isn't 1080p, even though it's capable of 1080p input? Second: Same Asian friend (who, by the way, sucks at DDR and photography, as long as I'm stereotyping) claims that Xbox 360 only is capable of 720p input, and as such, need its signal re-routed by a 1080p output....Is that right? How many TV's actually have 1080p output? My Toshiba 37HL57, which I'm more than happy with, doesn't have HDMI out....should it?

And first in the Northeast! Plekanec with the hatty, Kovalev has FOUR assists. If the Habs do get into first overall in 5 weeks, I have no problem with Alexei as the Hart winner. Where else would Chris Higgins and Tomas Plekanec be 20-goal guys? The Sabres loss would have been much more meaningful for the 'playoff-hungry Leafs' had they hung on. Alas, a 3-2 Bolts win continues the streak of Toronto teams against Tampa, and "This is a team we should beat! Why do we struggle with them?"

I don't get the Marvin hate. Mike by far if it's all time. There's no one I currently cringe at, but let's see if EMHE returns to Hyde.

Can you offer anything more than that? I've always wondered about that; I knew he left the E on unbelievably bad terms, but I don't know much more than that.

    This thread is gay

What a cocktease, pun blatantly intended, that This Thread Is Ghey can't offer anything here. As it turns out, I can't really offer anything apart from that, either. Edit: Yes, I can. I Guess Thats Why They Call It The Blues FTW. Double edit: My second FTW in a day and change. That's a new one. I'll blame Taz's debut on 24/7 this week.
