Lemme know how things go. Of all the expired foods to ate, you probably hit the bottom of the barrel. If you survive, you'll be able to theoretically eat anything. (see Leena). Edit: OH SNAP! I completely ad libbed that! And I'm pretty drunk, too! It turns out vodka and Gatorade DO kinda mix. Double edit: In CWDWAT, of all places. I'm on a roll.

I still have the following, in even-numbered sequential years, a la Arnold Palmer's Masters wins (Maybe like Phil, if he wins this year. I digress). 2002: Olympic Pucks and Stand: All eight initially named 2002 Team Canada members, with a fifth puck featuring the Great One. My lesbian friend, who, as you can probably guess, doesn't follow hockey, was with me when I purchased it. She said "This might be a girl question. Have you seen that commercial? How come no one cares about him when he drops the puck? They only want the puck." It wasn't. 2004: Trophies. Baron and I made some frantic last-minute calls, but I've procured them all now. Probably the best thing to come from my career at Wal*Mart, as far as the direct Wal*Mart - McDonald's relationship goes. 2006: Olympic Jerseys. Nash, Luongo, Brodeur, Crosby, Iginla, Lecavalier....I think. I should find them tomorrow. And oh yeah, Burger King's 360 games FTW. EDIT: HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I forgot the Mario 3 toys! I got a Paratroopa the night I saw TMNT: The Movie. Since the bulk of my post relates to hockey, I'll share that my cousin ruined the ending of the movie for me. Relevancy? Her prom date was Kevin Bieksa.

I've given up on my Aucoin love. I was right about Savard; I'm going to milk that. The Leafs win 4-3 in a shootout, and, ahem, stay in the playoff hunt. Never mind it took them over 30 minutes to look interested, and played probably the sloppiest I've seen them play all year. And also, discussion I had with my Sabres friend yesterday: CG: See who they got? CF: Sucks. CG: I don't know. It's not a benefit, but Bernier's underrated, and a first-round pick? That's pretty fair. And they're tied for eighth now, let's see. CF: Sucks. See my msn name when you get home. It was "How to dismantle a Cup Contender in less than a year: The Darcy Regier story". Now it's "Two goals and an assist in 25 minutes? Welcome, Steve Bernier." Ah. Sabres fans.

No, so they intend on putting it on 2/3 of their kitchen table. -
YES! What news! Bryan Murray should have a mic in front of him at all times. I youtubed him a few days ago, and imagine my delight when there was a clip entitled "Bryan Murray sings". Sadly, it was a high school kid doing a fight song or something, and not a lispy cover of She Sells Sanctuary.

I disagree. Sure another sport could, but how likely is it, at least in our lifetime? Not very. The NFL, besides being exceptionally well-run, has a variety of factors in its favour: First, for some reason, scandals don't hit the mainstream as hard, or don't seem to. There's still a bad vibe to a Dany Heatley or a Kobe Bryant for their out-of-game incidents, yet I can't name a single player on the Party Boat two years ago. Second, marketability. Sixteen games means every game is important, and TV knows that. That's a tough fact to impress when there's 80 or 160 games still to play. Not only that, the fact that they're all held on the same day; That's an easy sell, something else incredibly unlikely to be duplicated in other sports. Add to that the eight-home-game factor: If I wanna see, say, my Raiders on television or in person nearby in Buffalo or Detroit, how many chances do I get? Maybe, maybe, once a year? I better get on that. If I wanna see the Yankees play, or watch A-Rod in person, and miss my chance in April due to work; oh well, I can see them next month. Finally, gambling. Until gambling can play a part in the other big sports the way it does in football, nothing's taking over. (See the first page and why soccer hasn't caught on). Let it ride, I'm sure there's people on both sides of this. Again, I'm not saying that something can't or won't take over, I just don't see it happening in my life. -

Six USB ports? Yowsa. I'm fine with my 17" laptop screen. Conversely, my soon-leaving roommates just got a second-hand computer specifically for gaming; It came with a 21" CRT. That's bigger than the TV they're taking with them. -
I agree with this...for now, at least.
-
Either Higgins or Ryder, Grabovski and a pick would have been fine. Ryder's turning it around, and Higgins has quietly scored 21 goals this year, and he's a solid +4.

Imagine if it was Esposito instead of Hull. As Czech said, the end result would have been folding/immersion into the NHL anyway, but no Espo in the 72 Summit Series? Yikes. Who's your favourite no-name athlete of all time? Guys who aren't stars that you just really like. -
What's this looming election? I'll be stunned if Dion renounces the budget, and the NDP and Bloc don't have enough seats between the two of them to overturn it. Harper's in no hurry to call an election from what I've seen, and Dion would be a fool to with last week's support numbers.

At the risk of sounding really stupid, how is it, and how is it made? Do they actually crush the cereal, or is it like a flavoured syrup? I might have to make my own.
-
My assumption is they were trying to clear some cap space for Hossa - and were then outbid by Pittsburgh for him. I'm glad he didn't walk for nothing in July, and I do think Price is the right guy in the playoffs (based upon his Calder Cup and World Junior success), but the Habs are not Cup good...yet. Today did nothing to improve the on-ice product. And, with apologies for sounding like a dick, why can't anyone other than CC and me spell 'calibre' properly?
-
My grapes are clearly sour, but CC is bang-on.
-
Bruins, Sens, Canucks, Ducks are all done for the day, reports TSN.
-
Brad Stuart to the Wings for second and fourth rounders.
-
Pittsburgh getting Hossa trivialises, even further, the Huet trade.
-
For Armstrong, Christensen, Esposito, and a first-round pick. Meaning the Capitals might as well have stolen armfuls of memorabilia from the Bell Centre as long as they were getting Huet.

It's now time for The Battle of GM's You Dislike More Opening round shots: Brian Burke's response to James Duthie's question "I could answer that a lot more effectively if I could hear you." Or, Mike Milbury while discussing NTC's with union head Paul Kelley (Kelly?) "Oh, they wanna play in the same city, stay with their families? That's great - be a damn plumber."
-
The Avs traded for Ruslan Salei about an hour ago; they've also got a deal worked out, with no specifics, for Adam Foote. From what I understand, only two teams were privy to the Rob Blake sweepstakes: Colorado and Anaheim. We'll see - Burke hasn't done anything so far. As I was typing that, Darren Dreger reported Sergei Federov is headed to Washington.
-
Won a Cup in 06 with the Canes; That's about all I can offer.
-
Tuomo Ruutu to the Canes for Andrew Ladd.
-
I've probably flip-flopped about this over the last six weeks or so; I'd rather have Price over Huet in net in the playoffs.
-
I can't honestly imagine any GM in the league saying "What, you want us to have Ray Emery? Sure, send em over."
-
SEVEN? That's too much; I guess it's fine if it's a rental player. Sutter announced the Tanguay thing last night at some point, yeah. Text from my buddy, a Sens fan, just now: "Emery needs to go."
