No. It worked out alright for Edmonton two years ago. Bob 'Big Head' McKenzie said rumours were flying that it would be Emery to Chicago for Khabibulin.

How much does Hossa make? At the risk of being very Don Cherry, I'd much rather get Tanguay than Hossa. Obviously, that's not likely to happen at this point.

It'll be worth it in the end. My boss is a Habs fan, he understands. Cristobal Huwhatever has been traded to the Caps for a second-round pick. I like that they're giving Price the reins, but I'd have liked a little more in return.

Agreed, but they're close enough that it doesn't say "We're packing it in." I like Bernier, and the loss of Campbell is obviously big, but I think there's still enough pieces in place for the Sabres to get into the show. Pierre McGuire is being coy about it (fuck, I hate him), but "The Habs wish might come true in the next few minutes." Also, the Richards deal has been finalized; He's in Dallas with Johan Homlqvist, for Mike Smith, Jeff Halpern, and Jussi Jokinen. Since I'm sure you were all wondering, I got obscenely drunk last night, facilitating the hangover I'm currently suffering, allowing me to stay home.

CC beat me to it. I'd like the Campbell deal if I was a Sabres fan. It's believed Brad Richards has been traded to Dallas.

Belak to the Panthers for a sixth-round pick.

    HD DVD/Blu-Ray

I don't know if that should count as ignorance (not that I'm letting them off the hook). How many commercial for Blu Ray have we heard as "Now available on DVD and Blu Ray HD?"

The OaO Raw Thread for 2/25/2008.

    I really think Edge is gonna end the streak; I'd watch Wrestlemania every year anyway, but now I'm watching Raw out of anticipation of it;

The OaO Raw Thread for 2/25/2008.

I know this has been mentioned a few times since it's inception, but I notice a substantial improvement of the SD feed of Raw as well; I don't get the Score HD, but things look much cleaner, and very little noise around the wrestlers when the move. I still like how Regal mangles the pronunciation of Umaga.

    Carbonated drinks.

This has to be a thread in the TCS. Full-week schedule, fantasy booking, play-by-play, and so on.

That is a bargain, even refurbed. I've heard nothing but praise for Vizio so far.

Compare 90s WWF to 00s WWE

Yes, the 00's by a considerable amount. Even with the nostalgia factor and the sprinklings of great matches, a lot of them don't hold up as well; Wrestlemania 17 is still an unbelievably watchable card, as was 19, and the 03 Rumble - as one-sided as the Invasion got, it was made up for.

I can't quite put my finger on it either, especially when I can just as easily watch Sportscentre tomorrow. Alas, I'm enamoured with it, and have been for as long as I can remember.

I meant to post this on Thursday: The Score's Hardcore Hockey Talk (I like Steve Kouleas a hell of a lot more as a TV host than a radio one) claims that Sundin was willing to waive his clause if: a) He was traded to a list of teams of his choice (list not revealed) b) The team re-signed him for at least two years, by the time this year's playoffs began c) The deal was for about 6.5 a season. While this was being discussed on The Score, TSN said that he was only willing to go to Detroit or Vancouver, but nothing else was known about his demands. Ahhhh, deadline inaccuracies. I'm torn about tomorrow from a work standpoint, also. I'm supposed to work 8-4, which would obviously interfere. However, our loopy satellite system at work has been able to get The Score since about 3 weeks ago. I've campaigned against leaving that channel on at work for two reasons: First, there's a fair amount of risque language/topics/highlights during shows that are simulcast on their satellite radio network; Additionally, a customer returned a plasma last week because of screen-burn in from a sports ticker (He shouldn't have left it on for eight hours, but that's not the point) - It'd be fairly hypocritical of me to leave trade deadline talk on all day, let alone the fact I actually enjoy doing work. I'm gonna have to come down with some kind of virus in the next 16 or 17 hours.

I agree with this example in particular, and in general, I'm fine with the idea as well.

Two tidbits regarding no-trade clauses: First, Tampa's Brad Richards has submitted a list of teams he will accept trades to. This is in contrast to Mats Sundin, who has refused to waive his clause; As per a work conversation, is Sundin being selfish? Discuss.

Ok, who wants to get raped?

Obligatory Matt Young joke. Well, Mike would be more appropriate, but, you know.

You're both right. I'm sure someday there'll be broadcasts in 1080p, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it.

How did you land the job that you have now?

They offered me a job as well last year; It seems so hit-or-miss, like I was selling used cars or something. I don't know, maybe you're more comfortable working on commission than I am, but I didn't like the sounds of it. The girl who got me the interview used to work at Wal*Mart with me. She was the fiancee of the guy who offered it to me; She specifically made a point to ask me about it when I was drunk. Oh yeah, she's back at Wal*Mart with me now.

    HD DVD/Blu-Ray

I like that theory, but I'm not sure it'll hold up altogether. It might help out HD DVD at the beginning, but there was a time when no one knew what a DVD was either and people refused to buy them. True. Also HD DVD may also appeal to the general public a little more due to price as well. I don't really care who wins (I'm going to wait for 1 to die off before I ever think of buy a High Def DVD player/TV) but right now I would give HD DVD an edge because it just may be easier to push that on the general public. Probably five customers since Sunday have mentioned/discussed this with me; alas, I sold a plasma to a guy this week who told me he 'wanted just a tv, no bluetooth player or anything'. Conversely, a guy was looking at cell phones, and asked me what this 'BluRay' feature that came built into it was.

A friend of mine and I were just arguing about this the other day. He was looking in Wal*Mart at the sets we sell, astonished that none of them were 1080p. I told him it was overrated, not from a practical point, but as a selling point. How long before programs become regularly broadcast in 1080p? I'll say ten years before they become commonplace (outside of Blu-Ray and what, 5 video games?), and probably 25 that there's a mandate that they have to be broadcast, let alone in 1080p.

    Authority Figures...

McMahon was the most believable; Bischoff was probably the best heel. I'd say Cyrus in ECW was my all-time favourite, though. He was just fantastic in his role.
