I don't remember Connors as being all that hostile; moreso, for his grunting. So, my answer's McEnroe. What's the biggest collapse in sports history? Steve Smith scoring on his own net in the 86 Stanley Cup Playoffs? Jean Van de Velde in the 99 British Open? Edit: Who called a time-out in the 87 Final Four without any timeouts? Was it Chris Webber? -

Can I get away with calling our national game, lacrosse, a fringe sport? Insanely fun to play. -
Who wants to see EHME/Simon Adebisi/Carlito Brigante banned?
CanadianGuitarist replied to a topic in No Holds Barred
No. He's not 'ban' bad, he's just bad. Why in God's name would anyone ban Kamala? -
Long name or not, he doesnt steal the page the way "Yeah-huh" does. What was his old one? It had to have been a yeah-huh. Not the dancing/hard-walking smiley. Edit: I like the big-walker smiley, but it's not all that Czech.

When has a black guy ever said "most likely"? Let alone during a slapfight...

If only beer were free.

I'll hop on a bus right now. Fuckin' idiot.

We don't care. Doesn't someone else do this already? Imagine if I started calling people fags. It'd be received pretty poorly, wouldn't it? Let's give it a shot: You're a cockass.

I'd been looking for this for a while too. What a great build. I had no idea how to look for it, though. Fantastic find.

Explain. Other than Lemieux vs Gretzky, this would have been a four game sweep. I second this. Also, it's a bit of a stretch for 'dream final', as the Pens were out in the second round that year. -
The Islanders did their part to help you out tonight, Treble.

No surplus. If the ballot that year allows for 362 players inducted, that's how many get inducted. (Hey, as long as we're being hypothetical.) Tecmo Bowl. That question needs a "for its time". Tecmo Bowl now is incomparible to say, NFL 2K5. Tecmo Bowl 20 years ago to 2k5? Now you've got a debate. With my addendum in mind, let it ride. EDIT! NHL 95! With the player creator? Ah man! Good times. -
This won't make its way into Baron's signature. It's from Hate Mail from Cheerleaders, an xmas gift from my dad - all columns of Rick Reilly. Look, your average Seahawk fan drives a Prius - Your average Steeler fan, a Ford Excursion, which has Priuses in its tire treads. Seahawk fans own poodles. Steeler fans eat them.

Who here hasn't changed their screen name?
CanadianGuitarist replied to Ravenbomb's topic in General Chat
I was going to change it to CanadianAspirin, but I never bothered to watch that Berman rant - so I don't know what CanadianAspirin means. -
Only bump this thread

Remember the guy who tried to tell everyone I lusted for Hannah? Vince Russo paid him a visit. HE LIKES HER! By the way, my dad once called S Club 7's Hannah "The World's Sexiest Palindrome" -
Went back to look at those two TV's today. Commission-based salesperson shooed me away from the 4069, saying it really wouldn't be much different unless it was on a bigger screen, like 56 or higher (no fucking thank you). He could not, however, tell me about the QAM tuner in the 4065. Here's what I've narrowed it to: A) Will allow for broadcast of digital channels within OTA range that are only currently available on digital cable/satellite. Example: TSN has a broadcast tower in Toronto. I can pick up CTV's Toronto affiliate using rabbit ears. TSN is only available on digicable/sat. The QAM tuner allows me to view TSN with rabbit ears. B) Will unscramble a variety of currently blocked channels on my set-top box. For example, to watch something on The Game Show Network, I need to pay Cogeco another 2 dollars a month. I don't want to pay to see Pat Sajak circa 1987, so the QAM tuner will unscramble certain blocked channels on my set-top box. C) Both D) Neither I seem to recall Marvin mentioning something pretty similar to B, but I don't really remember. Potentially really stupid question: Why don't projection TV's/CRT's have contrast ratio/response time/native res, etc? What makes them different, in that regard, from flat-panels?

I think its nonsense that we (media, congressmen, and fans) are spending this much time and effort in trying to corner ball players into admitting that they are cheating. Its just a game and the "sanctity of baseball" is really just bullshit and myth to me. I do agree with Czech's sentiments that steroids need to stay out of amateur and youth sports. I ultimately agree with you, but I'm gonna take a different route getting there. I do see the 'sanctity of sport' argument, and while I'm not overly happy about it, I do think it's been blown a fair amount out of proportion, especially by politicians. At the risk of sounding like a tool, I don't want to know the person who doesn't agree with Czech's sentiments. I think water polo might be my favourite summer event. Incidentally, the only Olympic moment on my all-time sport moment Top 10 is Daniel Kigali in Sydney. Part of me thinks this was asked already, or at least something similar, but I didn't see it during my navigating back: Let's say every sport with a HoF adopts the same criteria for membership. What should it be? I say close to MLB's: Every player ever, maximum of five times on the ballot, 75% of voters agree. -
Feuds where both guys turned..... and continued feuding

Why was that? -
This is my new favourite Czech post ever. Ever. Ever. Ever. Ever. And I just re-read "Let's right this ship." With the ship's re-alignment in mind, I assumed an old thread had been bumped, especially when I read that NYYankees had been banned. I had to look three times at the date and his status to make sure everything was in order. (To be fair, I've just come off a night shift). How could he have been a member here when I left for work, and gone when I got home? Since it's too late to post my opinion on the subject, I'll tell this random tale: I'm smitten with a counter girl at the variety store up the street. My two roomates went up there yesterday and saw aforementioned girl. To try and wingman for me, one turns to the other, but directed at counter girl, and says "Hey, that's some big dick CG has, eh?"

We gotta give Manley's address to Brigante. Manley is the Brigante of our friends. They'll call each other fags or various compound-word insults that include "dick" for hours on end. Then they'll drink. And fuck.

^ I was just about to post that. Ed Belfour still remains at large. Instead, big trade out of our nation's capital: I've always liked Stillman. That's a big move.

Yes to Steve Nash. Albert Belle to CanadianChris' question. No-touch icing to Baron's question. For one time only, you've got the chance to play in an arena/stadium/course of your choice, anywhere in the world, under any circumstance you want(weather, opponent, etc.). Whaddya pick?
