What's Cox Bloc? Hopefully satirical, if a guy's name is God.

Results pending. I'm having my first rye and Coke since Grade 9. Expect some Koab-like posts in an hours time.

Pull for a Canadian hockey team this season. There was a point last off-season where no less than three posters had Gary Bettman in their sig/avatar. -
Can Chardonnay go bad? I only have four beer in my house and wanna get plastered; I got the roomie's thumbs-up to drink it, but she 'thinks its bad'. Doesnt it get better with age? I have no idead when it's from, and I hate wine, so it'll be gross anyway, but am I gonna be, like, really disgusted by it, or made sick or anything? Same question for the Black Label, Polar Ice, and GlenLivet samplers. I guarantee I'm the only person in history to ask anything about Chardonnay while listening to MotorHead.

Well, that's good. I'd hate to have two of our top three scorers out against a team that'll probably score a dozen goals against us. Heatley's streak ended last night against the Islanders, though. I'm picking Washington on Pro*Line tomorrow (ten games for the jackpot instead of the usual 13 or 14. I gotta do it). You're a rational human being, but you're also a Sens fan - can, or should you, talk me out of this? Edit: I'll let your death pool/KKK Bowl records slide Fuck, I wanted to post the Fletcher news, simply because I brought up Todd Gill in Tsar's Question thread.

Since Tsar didn't ask a follow-up, I'll answer VX's: I didn't really follow hockey that much until I was about eight, I was always into baseball (The Blue Jays two World Series wins compounded that). The year I really got into hockey was 92-93, which will still go down as one of the best seasons ever for the sport. Since my twin brother and I were both 8, we simplycouldn't possibly cheer for the same team. The Sens hadn't entered the league yet, and Toronto-Montreal was still the big one. With my family being all Leaf fans, my brother the most noted, I jumped onto the Habs bandwagon. The forthcoming possibility of a Leafs-Habs final cemented it. The Habs, of course, won it all that year. Fun fact: My bro and I split a place for about ten months in 2005, three years after he got kicked from my folks' place. We had a hockey video game that featured a variety of old school teams, the 93 Leafs and 93 Habs among them. We had a best-of-seven series one afternoon, which my brother dubbed 'The Shoulda-Been Stanley Cup Finals". I won in seven games. He punched the wall. TODD GILL, of all people, scored the OT winner in Game Two. My question: What record, in any sport (modern era only), is least likely to be broken? -
Take your sigh of relief, CC. Spezza should be back Tuesday against the Caps. Still, Heatley's streak of 283 consecutive games played will end in Landover.

So the 2-3 weeks I was told my 360 was to be in repairs sounds like it could be much less than that. A buddy of mine sent his out the day before mine and got it back Friday, which means it only took about a week to repair and send back. That's not bad at all.

TSM Poster Tournament 2008: The Round of 32

Twice in what, five hours? Too often, Czech. -
I sold mine all a couple years ago, save my Gretzkys. Number nine on my 'bucket list' is to collect them all before I die, or at least what's listed in Beckett. I've got I think 81 right now. There's probably about 250 or 300, which I think is possible thanks to Ebay. Before Ebay, part of me knew (and at least still thinks somewhat), that I'm gonna wind up selling them someday. I probably will, but I'll make a run at it. I don't have any order to them per se, just chronological. I don't think they're arranged by year in anyway.

Fuck, you were all over that, eh? The Lucky thing was funny, but I wanna vote for Alf instead....Greatest LA King of them all? Fuck that noise. That's a double whammy - last year against Al, at least I had the Canadian vote. You're like the face authority figure who put two heel buddies together in the main event. -
TSM Poster Tournament 2008: The Round of 32

The results for me Venk are about what I thought; I had a good run, Al probably beat me by more last year. Even though it's grossly irrelevant, I'm going to post the same thing I did during my defeat to Al. Take that, Doctor! Milky Consistently the poster who makes me laugh the most with Hoff's vacation. Ripper Flipped a coin. Venkman I copied and pasted the bracket onto a notepad, and am reading them off as I input my entries in this reply. For some reason, I typed Venkman first instead of reading it aloud. He wins. I obviously like me more (tho Venk's good people), but I'm drunk, it's a runaway, and he got his comeuppance above, I'd say! KKK I like Matt, as I've mentioned, but the KKK bowl supercedes. Sorry, bro. KingKamala Responded to me after he had changed his name. I had noticed it already in the Inaccurate Wrestling Predictions thing, but it still seemed like good manners. I'm big on good manners. King Like 'em both, but my KOAB drunk theory....yeah, that again. Carnival CLOSE! But Carnival indirectly put a positive spin on my coital Czech-thinking. That trumps. Treble Big fan of Mole (thanks for the vote, this round), but stickin with Canadiana. Czech I like Alfdogg, but Czech takes this one. Snuff Coin. Vitamin X Still my boy, even if he turned his back on me. Come to think of it, my love of my job should conflict with my hippy-ness. Alas. You're lucky. Barron Coin. Lushus I like the guy. Incandenza I can't really think of anything Edwin's done off the top of my head. Al Sneaks by. Scroby Smues is great, but I just can't vote against Scroby. -
Meatball-and-deep-fried anything is a heart attack. I'll give it a try this weekend; Excessive or not, I'm intrigued.

As I mentioned yesterday, I have no problem with Carlito, verbose as he may often be. But, and I'm gonna speak for my fellow Canuck TSM'ers....we don't like to think of him as anything but "Carlito". -

KamalaTookMyBabyAway (or KKKTookMyKamalaAway) CanadianKamala (covers both me and CC). VitaminKamala I'm looking forward to the results of this change. -
Yeah I saw that number too. Holy shit was exactly what I was thinking when TSN put the other one out there. Crazy to think that he got that without an agent. Ted Leonsis has never exactly been allergic to spending money on big names (see: Jagr, Jaromir). That contract is insane. $9 million a season for the first 6 years, $10 million per for the next seven. They'd better hope the cap goes way up, or else Washington is going to be in the basement for the foreseeable future. I hadn't even considered the cap, as crazy as that sounds. I would have thought Leonsis must have really sold Ovechkin to the effect of "13 years. If we want you for that long, that shows we're committed to being a winner for a long time." Factor in CC's salary cap thing, and Leonsis must be either crazy, or know somerthing really really big that we don't.

TSM Poster Tournament 2008: The Round of 64

Good call. I'd go so far as to call him my favourite poster. Even if it's just one vote per round, I think that's a whole new dynamic to the tourney. -
TSM Poster Tournament 2008: The Round of 64
CanadianGuitarist replied to a topic in Poster Tournament
I lost to Al in last year's second round. I'm gonna get absolutely slaughtered by Venkman this year. But I have no World Series clips to taunt the victor with this year. So, it's my goal over the next, presumably day-and-a-half, to find out which sporting moments made him cringe, then exploit the fact. -
Roomy says there's likely a 360 Blu-Ray add-on in the works...anyone heard about this? I suppose it's possible, but isn't it a little soon to have any info on such a thing?

I had a great zinger lined up, if anyone did have him; "The first man to scale Mt. Everest is now the first man to earn anyone points in this year's pool". Oh well, next year.
