I think what Next USC means by Taker/Shawn being a throwaway segment in the Rumble was because it never lead to a feud or a match at Wrestlemania or anything. I personally think it was done just to give the 07 Rumble an epic finish to it, and that was one of the best Rumbles. Would Cena even be back in time for WM next year? I thought his injury was for at least a year or so. And I would like to see Taker/Shawn at WM next year, but I just don't see WWE doing it, since HHH needs a challenger, and Taker is obviously going to be that guy. That match will also be a political nightmare backstage too.

When I saw the Hassan/Taker angle on TV, I actually just laughed at how stupid it was. I laughed that WWE was that dumb to keep the segment into the show, when they could have just cut it out, and also because the angle is just hilariously bad. I did like Daivari's sick bump though, when Taker threw him into the announce table. I don't really know how anyone could have been offended by the Benoit "tribute", since WWE had a timeslot to fill, and they needed to show something, and they didn't know the full story of Benoit's death at that point (though, you could tell they found out about mid-way through the show), so they just decided to show Benoit matches. I was more offended that they had wrestlers say their feelings on Benoit, even though these guys had to give their fake feelings on the McMahon death angle weeks earlier.

Welcome to TNA, dude. I've said before that if someone was a first viewer of TNA, they would be totally thrown off guard by all these rip-off gimmicks. Like, why is Shark Boy acting like Austin? Why is there a Steiner look-a-like? Why is Jay Lethal acting like Macho Man? TNA expects people who watch to be long term viewers, I guess. Petey Williams still looking like Steiner is the most puzzling though, since Steiner has been injured for months, and Petey just looks like this now for no reason.

Oh, the first thing I thought when I heard that Spider-Man 4 and 5 were going to be back to back sequels, I immediately thought "too late, why didn't they do that with 3 and 4?" Venom is a character who's story needed to be told in 2 movies.

Well, I guess I don't completely hate Limp Bizkit, as I do find the songs "Re-Arranged", and "My Way" to be fairly decent. I thought Blink 182 had some pretty good singles back then as well.
-
I hope they make sequels to Mr. Brooks. Even though the movie didn't make any money at the box office, I think it will become a cult hit on DVD.
-
If you want my opinion, I thought music was awful in the late 90's. Bands like Limp Bizkit and Korn becoming popular just made me lose my faith in music at that point.
-
Yeah, I guess so. Its kind of like TNA is setting up both Sting/Jarrett and Sting/Joe at the same time.
-
yeah, some people didn't like the ending of Mr. Brooks, thinking of it as a cop out, but I had no problem with it, as I like the storyline of him having his addiction to kill for the rest of his life.
-
Its only a matter of time before those Civil War photoshops show back up with Sting/Joe!
-
Hmm, David Goyer was going to write it? That might not have been that bad. At the time when I heard about that, I thought it was insane, but considering what we got with Spider-Man 3, that Venom movie probably would have been for the better. Also, what would the 5th movie be about? I know 4 will probably have the Lizard, but what for 5?
-
Mr. Brooks is all kinds of awesome. That movie was a very big surprise to me, because I thought it would suck, and it ended up being a very bizarre decent movie. Very underrated. I will probably see Lakeview Terrace at some point on DVD, and it should be an unintentional comedy, or maybe it is meant to be funny, I don't know.

Tazz is my hero for mentioning the Cabinet as the worst faction ever, as I always considered them along with X-Factor to be the worst or 2nd worst. At least with X-factor though, X-Pac is a decent worker, and Justin Credible wasn't bad either, and Albert wasn't an awful worker or anything, but the Cabinet were just awful. JBL sucks and can't work, Orlando Jordan sucks and can't work, and the Bashams sucked and couldn't work. And worst yet, they put titles on these guys! I really liked Jim Ross mentioning the No Limit Soldiers as his pick for the worst faction as well, because I think they were a big factor in WCW's downfall in 1999.

Now we know where they got the idea for the coffee angles! -
I'm happy with the way Jarrett has used his wife's death on TV. He actually has used it just to say that it happened in case you didn't hear, rather than using it for a sympathy title run or something. I was really worried last year, that he was going to pull that shit in the king of the mountain match, but instead they did something classy and showed a video package of Jarrett's thoughts, and then he put Chris Harris in the match instead. I'm glad Jarrett didn't give us a Rey Mysterio type title push.

Wasn't there actually plans for a Venom movie years before he was in Spider-Man 3? That would have been so weird to see him in his own movie, and not in a Spidey movie first.

See, I think WCW didn't put Cactus/Vader on that tape was because it was actually GOOD. I always thought the tape being called a "best of" was something meant to be ironic! -
It was also hard for years for Jarrett to get over as a face doing his act from the WWF. When I think of Jarrett as a face, I think of the USWA stuff with Lawler. Thats the real Jarrett to me, anyway. He can get over in TNA as a face now, because his character is different judging from that promo (although he needs to get rid of the guitar and that annoying ring music), and the fans were also chanting and rooting for him! When did we ever think we would see that?
-
Well, I don't even know if Jarrett was a face or heel in 96 and 97. In fact, I don't know if the Horsemen were heels or faces either, since they would feud with good guys, but they would also feud with bad guys (NWO).

My local radio station played quite a bit of these newer songs, and I have really liked what I've heard so far. I'm glad to see that Metallica did a reboot by trying to pretend the stuff after the Black Album doesn't exist. I got excited about hearing this new album once I heard Rick Rubin produced it, and the band themselves said they are going back to their 80's sound. I've never listened to the St. Anger album, but the singles I heard from it, sounded like SHIT. Those songs were just laughable. Bad lyrics, guitar sounded out of tune, and those really annoying drums. UGH! Just awful sounding. I've always wanted to hear the whole album though, since I wanted to hear how bad the whole thing was.

Even if some people didn't like Jarrett's promo, you have to admit that this has been by far the best part of this confusing storyline. I too, always wondered why promotions always made Jarrett a heel, as he makes a good babyface. The only time I can think of that he sucked as a face, was in 2003.

I find it funny that it was the Yeti's only appearance! That tape was pretty much a roll call for wrestlecrap, except for maybe 2 matches. -

Holy shit dude! I got that same tape about 10 years ago, and I too found that tape to be the funniest shit ever! I mean, a best of tape that has the chamber of horrors, AND the monster truck battle with Hogan/Giant, AND THE YETI!!! -
To be honest, WWE needed to just stop with the shades of gray crap with him, and just make him a terrorist heel, because like I stated in another thread about him, the fans didn't want to hear this crap of an Arab American who thinks he's descriminated against due to 9/11, because it makes the fans uncomfortable, and the guy wrestled like a heel, so WWE might as well just go all the way with it, and make him a terrorist. He would have drawn more heat that way. Of course then there was the Undertaker angle airing the same week as the London bombings, then he was toast.
-
HAHA! I actually remembered that. I had no idea that was him! If you want another unofficial debut, how about that Dan Rodman guy being one of the wrestlers standing in the hallway before McMahon blew up in his limo?
