NOES re-make casting updates
DarKnight replied to LivingLegendGaryColeman's topic in Television & Film
This Nightmare on Elm Street remake is just a bad idea. This is a case where Hollywood can't just remake a movie just for the hell of it. See, the other remakes like Halloween, TCM, and the upcoming Friday the 13th have silent killers, but Freddy is an actual character who has lines, and I just can't see anyone other than Englund playing him. -
A full fledged characterization of Zsasz would pretty much have to be in an R-rated Batman movie, and we know thats not happening. Same thing for Black Mask. Thats why I think the Ventriloquist would be a good idea for a villain in a future movie, since he's disturbing and twisted, but doesn't require an R rating.

Does anyone really know what Nolan's plans are for the 3rd movie? He said himself that he thought of the series as a trilogy, but we don't know who the next villain will be. Most signs point to the Riddler, but David Goyer keeps saying that he wants to write a script with villains that haven't made the big screen yet. If they go that direction, I vote for the Ventriloquist, since he's about the only villain you can follow the Joker up with, since he is very twisted and psychological.

Well, I think if Russo booked that storyline again, that we can all say it wouldn't be as bad as the WCW version, but I don't think it will be good either. Russo is too obsessed with doing shades of gray crap, that I don't think anyone can really get over in the storyline. I think Jarrett's return should be just to put people over, but its a gamble.
-
Yeah, because none of TNA's shows the past 2 years seem like Russo shows at all! I don't know why people in the company are so afraid to admit Russo does the writing. If they don't admit to it, then why is he there? If they think signing Russo makes them look so lame and pathetic, why did they do it in the first place? And I don't know why people never say this, but the reason why TNA will never gain mainstream popularity is because they have that six-sided ring. In the eyes of mainstream wrestling fans, it makes them look 2nd rate and cheesy. I remember tuning in to one of their shows in 2004 when they were on Fox Sports, and I remember seeing that six-sided ring for the first time, and I immediately thought "What the hell is this?!"

Man, I really feel sorry for that referee, since he lost his job due to the fucking Miz. Words wouldn't describe how angry I would feel over that. Since Miz is the one who fucked up, shouldn't he be released then?
-
No, I wasn't referring at all to storyline, just real life. Obviously, I would like to see Sid be a psychopath, and just cut really bizarre promos.
-
Well, they can't have that much plans for Colt Cabana, since they jobbed him to Brian Kendrick in about 2 minutes with no cheating. I don't know why WWE keeps jobbing people in their debut, because some people don't recover from it. I too the past few weeks have seen similarities in Edge and the Joker. Hell, last night he basically just acted like the Joker, doing things that are funny to him, but scary for Vickie.
-
Daivari will most likely just have a cup of coffee in TNA. I think he will be there for a few months, then get released, as I don't really see anything long term with him. The Impact last night was ok, but I have a real bad feeling about TNA's future, since they treated Jarrett's return like a return of a legend or something. Hell, isn't everyone thats a TNA fan glad to see Jarrett off the show for good, since pushing him makes them look 2nd rate? I heard that Russo wants to do the Millionaire's Club/The New Blood feud again, and this can be the 2nd time he ran a promotion out of business doing that storyline.
-
Another reason why I like the idea of the return of Sid, was because I think it makes a great comeback story after that horrific injury in 2001. Oddly enough, I wouldn't mind him going after Punk for the title. Its better than main eventing JBL at least.
-
I can't believe Stevie got released. Didn't he have an office job too in the company? Colin Delaney isn't surprising at all because the dude just looks like a jobber, and that was also his gimmick. I thought it was funny that WWE turned him heel though since when I was watching the GAB, and when Dreamer's match came on, I thought "What if Colin Delaney did a heel turn?" Of course, I was only joking, but WWE did it anyway.

that fan made poster was pretty cool.

I thought the Fountain was alright. It was really bizarre though. I think Requiem for a Dream was Aronofsky's best movie, but damn that movie is a downer. Pretty much every character in it ended up with a horrible future.
-
I too, thought of this same line when I heard the Joker telling people different versions of his past. Downey's comments are obviously bitter towards TDK, since it has completely overshadowed Iron Man at this point. Both are great films though, and I will watch these a lot when they come out on DVD.
-
Its a plot hole. There is no way for that to make sense logically. In fact, that was the most obvious plot hole ever in a movie.
-
Is there any point of this Clone Wars movie? I don't really think that will make that much money besides the Star Wars fans.
-
Nighthawk, I agree with everything you said about Spider-Man 3. When I first saw the movie, I too didn't think it was that bad. When I watched it at home a few months later though, oh my god it was bad.
-
Someone backstage needs to tell Russo to stop doing his bizarre booking with Joe. Joe needs to be booked as a normal face champion, not this shades of gray crap. You don't book that kind of shit when you need a guy to be the face of your company.
-
Eh, besides the Undertaker match at No Way Out that year, I don't think Angle was really that good. Him getting the title immediately made Smackdown look like a B show because he spent half of 05 just jobbing to Cena, and then jobbed to Michaels on his last night on Raw. What was WWE thinking by having Angle/Taker at No Way Out, and having Orton in a WM main event? I mean, how was anyone going to take Orton seriously getting a title shot at WM instead of the Taker?
-
I know this isn't saying much, but Sid was one of the highlights of WCW in 99. How can anyone forget that hilarious promo where he said "You are half the man I am, and I have half the brain that you do!"?
-
Oh, ok. I just remember reading some observer notes that it occured sometime before Wrestlemania. Smackdown was really awful in early 06. This was the height of the Eddiesploitation garbage, and the 3 guys they had for the WM title match were all undeserving and had no heat.
-
I personally have no problem with Sid coming back. I have always enjoyed his very bizarre and incoherent promos.
-
It is scary to know that there are fans like this out there somewhere.
-
He's not just an idiot for this, but also the many other things he's done in WWE the past few years. I'm sorry, but a guy who smokes a joint right in front of management the day before his WM title match where he was scheduled to win is an idiot. I just can't stand the guy, and I'm glad he won't be back on TV for another few months.

That Domino vignette was pretty interesting, but yeah, it was a total ripoff of Cena's thug gimmick a few years ago. Thats the reason why they decided against it, because it would remind people of how cool Cena used to be.
