Whats worst about Tenay and West, was that I don't remember them being bad in TNA's early days. They were very calm then, but it seems like ever since they went to Orlando and had their failed FOX Sports TV deal, they've done nothing but just yell and scream.

Wow, 2007 was really the most profitable year for WWE? That really depresses me, since that year was horrid for the company, with the embarrassing McMahon limo angle, bastard son Hornswoggle, the Benoit tragedy, Cena getting injured and having Orton as champion. As for minor bad things, how about the bad luck Smackdown had last year, with Kennedy, Edge, and Undertaker getting injured while being involved with the MITB/title situation?

Was Colin Delany really shoved down people's throat? I mean, you wouldn't even know he existed if you didn't watch ECW, but I think he did appear on a Raw this year. I agree with you on the others though. Gimmicks like Eugene and Gowan are the worst guys to have on wrestling, because when people watch wrestling, they want to see larger than life characters, not disability gimmicks. It didn't help that these characters were so annoying and pushed to hard, to where you wanted to see them get beat down. I mean, who really would want Eugene to beat HHH? Why would you feel sorry for Zack Gowan getting beat down, since his character on TV was that it was his dream to be a wrestler? If the guy wants to be in a violent sport, let him get beat down. Also, it would be really embarrassing if anyone jobbed to a one-legged guy, and I think Matt Hardy is lucky that jobbing to him didn't kill his career, as WWE realized jobbing him was a mistake and Gowan never appeared on TV again, and got released. I don't mean to sound like a jerk or anything, but thats the way I feel about those gimmicks in wrestling.

I don't buy that at all, that the WWE is doing better business now than the attitude era. In fact, in the eye of the public, being a wrestling fan now is considered sort of embarrassing, but during the attitude era, EVERYONE watched it. And I only think Austin's heel turn ended up doing bad for business was because they did nothing with it. They immediately teamed him with a guy he tried to kill on PPV (HHH), and then Austin and HHH get hurt within the year, and also the invasion storyline didn't meet people's expectations (and I don't understand why anybody thought the WCW guys should beat the WWF guys). Also about Cena and merchandise, didn't the Rock when he was heel in 98, sell a bunch of shit? I mean, kids obviously didn't give a damn if the Rock was heel or not, they loved the guy regardless.

Yeah, it made the movie just look overproduced and stupid. I don't think TDK will beat out Titanic, but hey I wouldn't mind. I understand that Titanic made the kind of money it did considering during the late 97 and most of 98 had nothing out, and lots of teenage girls went to see it, but I don't think the movie is that good to win best picture and all that. Its really a **1/2 cheesy romance kind of movie. And a lot of people since have made fun of it, and wonder why it won best picture.

Yeah, I wish WWE woud do that for their WrestleMania title match too. I think the Jericho/HBK/Batista storyline is by far the best storyline of the year. Even before Raw became a great show after the draft, I could tell something good was about to happen to that show during that feud, since it was a storyline that was very mature and complex than anything Raw did from 2002-2007, so I felt that a good change was coming.

I really don't blame Ross for making fun of that shit. It really was the worst stuff I've ever seen.

Wow, this thread is crazy now. You really just cared about Liger only? No one else? Not even Somoa Joe or AJ Styles? And I might know what PPV your talking about. Was it Bound For Glory 2005, since that show had a Liger/Joe match on it? I couldn't think of any other TNA PPV that Liger was on, but I'm pretty sure he was on another one, since he was probably in the World X Cup.

The Mummy 3 isn't getting mediocre reviews, its getting BAD reviews. RottenTomatoes.com has it at like 10 percent, so I don't think anyone is going to see that now. Hell, people didn't want to see it anyway, but they might have bit if it didn't get badmouthed that much. However, now that they've heard its terrible, I think they're just staying away from it. I even went back and watched the first 2, and I completely forgot how fun those movies were. I think the first one is actually a pretty fun movie, and Returns wasn't as good, but it had its moments. But looking at the trailers for the new one, I just got the "Why?" vibe from it, as it looked nothing at all like a Mummy movie.

I never thought the ending of part 8 was confusing at all. They show Jason dissolve in the toxic waste, and it was very obvious that him as a child was a hallucination. I think that movie was meant to be the last one since the slasher movie genre was going out of style by the late 80's, so thats why they had Jason dissolve in the toxic waste. New Line of course bought the rights to Jason and made Jason Goes to Hell, just for a quick buck, ignoring the previous series. I thought that movie sucked since having a Jason movie where he takes over people's bodies and then kills people is just beyond retarded. I did like the one scene where the guy melts in the house though, that was sick.

I actually thought the newest episode they showed was lightyears better than that one that had that football crap. The newest one seemed like a regular wrestling show at least. The matches weren't any good of course, and I also found Candi Divine to be really hideous looking. The Beverly Bros. didn't get DQ'd for doing the doomsday device, they got DQ'd for... wait for it... jumping off the top rope! Anyone noticed that any promotions that do that kinda crap always goes out of business? I too found the Bischoff blue-screen stuff to look really bad. Did anyone notice one of the announcers calling him a choir boy?

Oh god, Tenay and West are horrible! They act like everything they see is the most important thing in the world or something. They could be another reason why some people just can't get into TNA. Ever since TNA went to 2 hours, I haven't noticed any pacing problems, but rather I see way too many run-ins or gimmick match after gimmick match. Sometimes they even have gimmick matches building up to later gimmick matches, like during that Team 3D and LAX feud.

Well if you want my opinion, I really think no wrestler draws on his own. I too have never seen anybody say that they have to go to a show just to see 1 guy. It depends if the card is good and sounds interesting. This is a reason why WCW ran out of business, their cards for house shows and PPV's sounded terrible, so nobody went.
-
Yeah, Trips did have his moments in that. Especially the line "Hey dickface! You seen my dog?!"

Well I too enjoyed the first one for what it was, but I meant that the reboot would finally end confusion that many people have over the first movie not having Jason in it. I like the Friday the 13th series better as a whole than the Halloween series, since these movies actually do something different in each one. The Halloween series was just like watching the same movie all over again (except for 3 and 6, but those suck), and I've also found the Halloween sequels to take themselves way too seriously, and kind of come off unpleasant. Jason movies however are just fun.

I don't think so. Things have WAY better pacing now then they did during those 06 Russo shows. Hell, I remember a ladder match on one of those shows, and it lasted 2 MINUTES! I think Jarrett actually cracked down on Russo backstage, and told him to write stuff more normal, and have more wrestling.

Exactly. Thats why its stupid for WWE to be worried about turning Cena heel because their afraid merchandise sales will be down. Who honestly gives a flying fuck? Cena hasn't increased ratings at all. Since 2002, Raw has consistently had the same ratings in the 3's and only went to 4's in 2006 because WWE went back to USA the year before, and there was also the ECW angle. Sure, I know Cena was a part of it, but I think One Night Stand that year would have done a good buyrate anyway. And Cena isn't even in the same ballpark when it comes to Austin or Rock level of popularity. Even if Cena has the highest selling merchandise currently, it isn't shit compared to Austin or Rock or NWO.

Yes, but even though TDK had the Joker in it, with an even better performance from Ledger, it didn't feel like the Joker's movie, as I thought that Batman was the main character. You are absolutely right. Two-Face I don't think can be a main villain in a movie, since he wouldn't do anything interesting after his first rampage after getting scarred. Its like what I said about the books Long Halloween and Dark Victory. In Long Halloween Two-Face is only in the last chapter, but makes a huge impact, then in Dark Victory he's in the entire book, but didn't do anything interesting.

Yeah, A Long Halloween animated movie would probably have to be the same length as TDK or maybe a little longer, but hey, I wouldn't mind. There are some series that have like 4 issues, yet its incredibly long, like The Dark Knight Returns. -
Yeah, I like Reynolds too, and think that he should be a bigger star than he his, but like what AntiLeaf said, he's been in shitty movies. Waiting was probably the best movie that he was in. Even though Blade Trinity was terrible, he was the only good thing about it.

I see no problem in a Friday the 13th remake/reboot since yeah, the original movies aren't the greatest thing on Earth, but also because Jason hasn't had that definitive movie in his franchise. The first Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street are regarded as great movies, yet the Friday the 13th movies get trashed, although the remake will too. I like the series, but I've always thought it was troubling that Jason wasn't the killer in the first one. The remake will at least fix that.

The Long Halloween I think was a mini-series of 13 issues, how long was The New Frontier? -
I didn't mind him as Dent at all, but the character didn't mean anything in the movie. Thats the thing with the 89 Batman, its the Joker's movie and nothing more, as Batman is treated as an afterthought in his own movie.
-
I agree. Jericho's heel act the past few months has been awesome. I even think he's better than Edge right now. That promo on Raw last week was amazing. I'm actually glad that Cena/Batista is a mid-card match and not for the title, since I'm sick of seeing those 2 constantly main event. Here's a good question. Who do you think loses that match? Or will it just go to a DQ?

Let's just say what if Cena quit the company tomorrow? Would anybody REALLY miss him? I think they're audience would just move on without him. When Austin and the Rock weren't in the company anymore, you could tell the fans were hit by it, and they miss those guys (though I haven't missed Austin since his horrible 2002 days). And even if Cena does sell a bunch of stuff, WWE has basically made it impossible for him not to, since he's been forced fed to everybody.
