    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

It's time for my commentator. He's a very good one, and I think he's probably the best-kept secret in pro-wrestling announcing, as all the talk about announcing always surrounds Solie, Ross, etc. The commentator for my promotion is going to be... Les Thatcher!

UFC 87 - Seek and Destroy

A couple of notes from last night's Observer radio shows on F4W regarding Brock's taunting, next opponent and Mark Coleman: Coleman doesn't want the fight against Lesnar. The idea is for Brock to next face Cheick Kongo, but he might not want to fighter Lesnar either. Brock and Cain Velasquez are the two that people are not wanting to face right now, Cain more than Lesnar. The reason being that beating Lesnar gets notoriety and a good chance of a title shot, but beating Cain, if they can even do it, doesn't have a lot of upside to it. Lesnar's taunting of Herring was down to comments Herring and his camp had made privately about Lesnar. They considered Lesnar a joke (a 'fake pro wrestler' is how Dave described it) and felt disrespected about putting a real fighter against someone like Lesnar. This sort of talk was going on all week long, and when Lesnar heard about it, it obviously didn't sit well.

    Randy Orton Reinjured

He was, though DarKnight has the timeline off. The pot incident occurred about a month or so before Wrestlemania, hence Rey being added to the match.

So, Joe went from playing background player for Sting last month to Mr Ego himself, Jeff Jarrett, this month. How about, I don't know, making Joe the focal point of Joe's matches?

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

My next pick is made purely for my own amusement, though he's a very underrated wrestler all the same, and would at least fill a jobber role if nothing else. My next pick is the former ICW/ICWA Tex-Akarna TV Champion... Bryan Alvarez!

Why did BJ sound like someone had kneed him in the groin? His voice sounded even higher than usual.

Muffy appeared on a few episodes of Smackdown to try and get the fans fit. Then, one week, she was revealed to be Stephanie's personal trainer. The character was promptly dropped when it was realized what that implied.

    CTDWAT: TNA Edition

Jesus, Russo is just obsessed with doing that storyline isn't he? He did this storyline last year in TNA's world title program! Another reason why turning Sting heel on Hogan wasn't going to get over, was because Sting's actions were very justified in my opinion. Hogan said Sting was the Hummer driver and Luger said Hogan was the Hummer driver, so Sting was confused by all of this nonsense and finally had enough at Fall Brawl 99 and beat Hogan down with a baseball bat, just in case if he was the Hummer driver. At least, thats what I think the storyline was, who knows? Russo is obsessed with swerving people to the point that whatever story is being told gets lost in maze of pointless and inane plot twists in a desperate attempt to surprise people. It's a nice idea to surprise people, but Russo never learned the difference between a surprise that's good, makes sense when you think about, and has you saying, "That was a great twist", and a surprise that's bad, makes no sense when you think about, and has you saying, "That's the dumbest thing they could have done". We could go on all day about lessons Vince Russo has never, and will never, learn.

UFC 87 - Seek and Destroy

Agreed. That first round was incredible, and might have been the best round of the night. It started the PPV on a high note. It was a decent fight, but fell very short of the 'FOTY' talk that had surrounded it. A clear win for Florian, but I don't think he looked someone who will be near a title fight anytime soon, let alone winning one. Brock massacred Herring on the ground. He just beat and beat and beat on him at will, with Herring able to do almost nothing about it. If Kongo were to face Lesnar, then Kongo would get the uckfay beaten out of him. That said, and for all the positive things you can, and should, say about Brock. we're still waiting to see how he handles getting hit with heavy punches. And how about that first punch from Lesnar, and how fast he followed up on it? I give Fitch a ton of credit for hanging in there, but he was totally outclassed, and it'll take a long time before he gets another chance at the WW title. Add to that a decent undercard, and a great KO of the 'Anvil', and UFC 87 was a great PPV and one of the best UFC shows in a long time.

Uncle Cletus was Tony Anthony. He managed the Godwins for about a week at the end of 1997.

HBK's guaranteed deal from the Attitude Era, which expired in 2001, was for a downside of $750,00 per year. For him to be on a downside of $364,000 per year now would mean his pay dropped 50% from that level. No matter the amount of time between that deal and his current one, HBK isn't taking that kind of pay cut, nor would Vince ask him to. There's also the fact that the idea of someone like HBK working for s $364,000 downside is absolutely laughable. Even given the nature of the 'source' of this claim.

Now that was a five-star humbling. As Rogan said, if Lesnar looks this good in just his third ever MMA fight, he could be a major force very soon. So far, this has been a great UFC, and providing the main event delivers, it could be one of the best ever.

It probably would have been, but I have an alternate pick in mind, so I'm not worried.

The countdown show was all kinds of awesome. It did a great job of building up Fitch and Huerta, and gave you a reason to want to see them. I think this is a 450,000 buy show. Speaking of which... GSP beats Fitch in round four by TKO. I think the countdown did a great job of making Fitch look like a real threat, and I think he'll be a serious challenge to GSP, but I'm still going with the champion. Huerta beats Florian by UD. I think Florian has the heart to stand the beating he's going to get, but I don't see him doing much more than that and I think he'll survive all three rounds. Either Lesnar beats Herring by pounding him into a pulp or Herring knocks Lesnar into next week and out of the UFC. I don't see this fight ending any other way, except maybe Herring taking a horrible beating for three rounds and the fight somehow not getting stopped.

For my announcer, I pick the man who Jim Ross studied under... Bill Watts! For my wrestler, I pick another Brit, and someone who I think can have some spectacular aerial matches with various members of my roster... Pac! I couldn't find any decent picture of Pac.

    Who needs a turn?

I don't think anyone has believed a single claim he's made. That's the second instance of you claiming it's a waste of time here, and yet you keep coming back. Getting back to the subject of the thread... I think a HHH heel turn, while it would freshen him up, would also be very difficult to pull off. HHH is like Chris Jericho in that he's someone who the fans like and don't really want to boo, and while they can work hard enough to get the crowd to boo them, it's almost never going to be anything passionate or vociferous. It's always going to be the booing that the crowd feels like they have to do because of what the heel says rather than because they actually hate the guy. It took Jericho a while to get the crowd to really hate him, and for HHH it might take longer. It's the same with Shawn Michaels. He can play a fantastic heel, but he's too well liked and respected by the fans to get really hated. Sure, Shawn, like Jericho and, when it happens, Hunter, will be able to get the crowd to boo them, but it won't be that outright hatred that a JBL gets.

    WWE Raw (8/4/08)

When was JBL great? He had one fun brawl with Cena and that's it. I know anklelock will take back what he said about me in another thread, but JBL is someone whose ring work has always bored me The one match with Cena. Other than that, you're right; I don't think JBL has ever been great. I was trying not to be so down on the guy.

    WWE Raw (8/4/08)

JBL used to be good-to-great, depending on the opponent and the stipulations, but he hasn't all that hot since his back injury. It's been painfully obvious, literally at times, that JBL isn't where he used to be.
