Mr. McMahon "dead" - Now for the "whodunit" angle.

Meltzer just said that it was going to end up with Vince having faked the whole thing.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

Can you give the Cliff notes version? It was slow, painful and likely that Benoit intended it to be that way. He would have been very aware of what was happening.

The manner of Benoit's suicide sounds gruesome if the description Dave talked about is even half accurate.

When I say nothing has been said of Kobashi, I mean nothing at all. Not even the smallest hint of how he's doing. When it comes to the Japanese culture, when nothing at all is being said, like with Kobashi, it's usually not good news, because the mentality is to keep any bad news quiet for as long as possible. When Giant Baba and Jumbo Tsuruta were ill, the news was almost nonexistent in both cases because of that very reason, as both men ended up dying. That's not to say that Kobashi is dying, but with how the Japanese culture operates, the fact that absolutely nothing is being said about how Kobashi is doing is definitely cause to wonder if things are in bad shape and they aren't keeping things quiet, as per the norm over there.

The fact that nothing has been said of Kobashi since he last appeared might not be a good sign.

WWE General Discussion for June 2007

To start things anew in regard to discussion of minor news items and the like, we're going to be starting a monthly General Discussion thread in the forum. The idea is in the same vein as the CTDWAT thread, in that the minor and mundane news items of the month, as well as random musings of an equally minor nature, can be kept to one thread, and also that the monthly nature of this threads should hopefully stop things from getting so clogged up. The General Discussion threads will be pinned for the month they cover before being replaced by the new thread. Hopefully, this will keep the minor discussion going without things getting bogged down, and maybe even spawn some decent discussion. The current CTDWAT thread will be unpinned but, for now, will be kept around so people have a frame of reference. To get things going, I'll repost the news item concerning Dwayne Johnson getting divorced. You're encouraged to bring over the minor news discussion of the past day or so into this thread so as to get the ball rolling here. As it pertains to questioning whether a certain news item warrants a thread, don't make a show if it. Bring it to our attention by way if a PM, and we'll check it out. If it doesn't deserve a thread of its own, it'll closed or merged with this one.

When one of the ADA's (I think) was questioned about what the 'bizarre' aspect was, in the first press conference, he said it was in reference to it being a murder/suicide, because he considered such an incident bizarre for the area.

    New Touring Schedule Proposal

Wrestlers don't have it rough today? When compared to the 'golden days' they might have it easier, though that is debatable, but to suggest that wrestlers don't have it rough today is complete nonsense. Ok, you're right, what I meant was comparatively things are much less difficult today then they were in the past. Matches are shorter, less physically demanding, and overall just not as rough as they were back in the olden days. Go watch the final scene of Wrestling with Shadows, where Stu Hart can barely walk up the hill, and then think about the fact that he didn't take a single bump off a ladder or go through any tables during his career. If Jeff Hardy makes it to 80, you think he'll be better off physically than Stu? True, but arguably guys like Jeff Hardy are far from the norm, and ladder matches occur infrequently at best. Will Jeff Hardy be better off physically then Stu Hart at 80? Probably not. Will Batista or John Cena? More then likely. The style today is far more physically demanding than it used to be in 80s and has been for almost a decade. Even guys who don't go through tables are getting major neck surgery. Take a look at the injury list involving guys who were working their asses of during the boom period. It's filled with wrestlers who rarely, if ever, went near the top of a ladder let alone came off of one. And we're not even taking into account the drug problems that are going to come out down the road for the modern day guys like they have done for guys in the 80s who have been dropping dead over the years. You really think when it comes time for the 90s guys to fall, as if they haven't already, it's going to be any better than the 80s guys dying?

    New Touring Schedule Proposal

Instead of having everyone off for a couple of months at a time, why not rotate groups of guys in and out for four or five months at time with a month break in between? That way, you'd always have house shows and Raw/Smackdown/ECW tapings, but not everyone would be on the road constantly. And you'd also have a turnover of talent on top, keeping things relatively fresh, as one group of guys leaves and another returns.

    The Old School questions thread

I think it was originally going to be Ted DiBiase. We did find out who drover the Hummer (Bischoff, though it was going to be Carmen Electra) and who raised the briefcase (Bossman)

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

And more: -Nancy visited Dr. Astin on Thursday asking questions about how she could raise Daniel on her own. -Dave gave a description of the common profile of men who kill their whole families and it was eerily similar to Benoit (hard working, driven, experienced a loss, a few friends but no real support system, anxiety, etc." -Said Chris was constantly anxious about something. When he was at home he was worried about wrestling, when wrestling he was worried about his family. -How's this for eerie. When Vince called all the guys in the ring before RAW to give the news, the stage had been decorated with a casket, reefs, candles with Vince's picture, etc. like a funeral. Talent was told to bring dark suits like a funeral to the taping. I'm sure that was a blast. Vince apparently handled it really well, told anyone who wanted to go home would not be disciplined but guys were basket cases and trying to think of some rationalization (carbon monoxide, etc.) -Regal was a neighbor of Benoit's and Grunge and would have know about the home troubles so that sheds some light on his "tribute".

    IGF Results...

Just to clear something up that was talked about in the Benoit thread, and in case anyone is confused, Kurt Angle is not the IWGP Champion; he simply has storyline possession of the physical belt. Also, Hulk Hogan has never been IWGP Champion. He won the IWGP tournament, but he's never actually been IWGP Champion.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

Lesnar wasn't champion of anything. He's just claiming, in storyline, to still be the champion over not being paid owed money. Lesnar did, however, retain physical possession of the belt over his owed money.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

IGF wound up pulling the IWGP title part from the match, over legal threats. Angle won via clean tap out in about ten minutes.

Guilt. Some parents feel a lot of guilt about letting on that they're having trouble with raising their kids, including the reasons why.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

Pillman had well known drug issues at the time of death, including cocaine use, that definitely didn't help his bad heart. The Wellness Policy is a joke. Chris Master seemed to take it seriously when he began to shrink by the week, and look what happened; they made fun of him on Raw by mocking him for looking smaller. Now, he's back to being as big as ever. The Wellness Policy might have started out as a mostly genuine attempt to try and clean things up, but it quickly turned into pure lip service and nothing else. Heck, Benoit was considered to have passed the test in April, and it's now been confirmed he was on steroids and who knows what else. You can give Vince some of the blame for the steroid related deaths as far as WWE/F guys go. He's the one who, time after time, gives the pushes pushes to people with physiques that almost nobody can get without chemical aid. He's not forcing them to take the steroids, the HGH or whatever else they take to get big, but they're only doing it because they know it's the only way to get the look that Vince wants in the people he gives the big pushes to.

I expect the PPV to be released as normal, but with all mention of Benoit edited out. I imagine they might even have Styles and Tazz re-do the commentary.

Dogs are fed and ready for a new home, come in through the back so you don't have to destroy the front to find the bodies. Chavo got the message on sunday morning, correct? Yet no one thought to check on him until the next day? There was a delay between Benoit sending the message and Chavo receiving it. It was mentioned at the press conference.
