Time to find out if the script leak will change IC title plans.

The only thing I heard in reference to that was on the latest WOR show and Meltzer didn't know anything beyond that everything up to and including WM had been redone, yet again. It sounded like things are going crazy in WWE in terms of everything being rewritten over and over again. This does not bode well for much of a buy rate above the WM baseline.

WWE General Discussion - March 2009

The disagreement actually went down a few months before Summerslam and was, seemingly, resolved then. It was closer to just under the 200k mark. And where did you hear it was a plot between he and Russo? Argue it then. Where did this idea come from?

The most overdone sequence in wrestling is the cradle reversal series first seen in the Guerrero/Malenko. It was a unique at the time and was great, but since then you see it in every other Indy match out there and it comes off like an exercise in self-congratulatory masturbation over the fact you can choreograph a sequence first seen almost 15 years ago. The most contrived sequence is another one you see a lot of in Indy matches, usually between spot monkeys, where one guy will sweep the legs of the other guy and go for the cover but then roll himself off, get up, and then the other guy will do the sweep/roll off part, and then they'll both kip up and stare at each other while the fans clap like obedient Pavlovian dogs.

Lawler as the legend to face Jericho at WM would be a huge letdown. As part of a gauntlet type match? Maybe. But a Jericho/Lawler singles match would be a major disappoinmet

    2009 Hall of Fame

Vince wants to treat his HoF with some measure of legitimacy and the current inductees make it a fairly credible HoF, despite a couple of glaring omissions. And while there have been some questionable additions in the early days, over the last few years for almost every inductee there's been a good argument for putting them in, even kayfabe ones. With Koko, you can't even do that.

Career mid-level performers shouldn't be anywhere near a Hall of Fame, regardless of the sport or occupation.

It's possible that whoever Jericho faces at WM costs him the match. Or maybe, for some reason, Lawler interferes to set up Jericho losing, Jericho faces Lawler next week and wins and while beating him up Jericho's post-match his WM opponent makes the save for Lawler.

TUF 9: USA vs United Kingdom

Something from the post-UFC 96 WOR that relates to this season, brought up when talking about the refereeing fiasco, is that at some point in this season there is a Mazzagatti reffed fight that has a 'really really bad' late stoppage.

I only remember Michael Cole doing that, and it was the once. "Welcome to the hottest action-adventure program/show on television." For some reason that particular show opening stuck with me. Probably because it sounded so stupid.

lol It should say 35. I'm relieved. For a moment, I thought this folder's preeminent poster was a rather sad man trying desperately to keep up with people less than half his age.

Ranging from being just plain terrible ideas to outright intelligence insulting; Buff Bagwell literally laying down for La Parka. The finish to Bret/Goldberg at Starrcade. Sting being 'set alight'. Jeff Jarret laying down for Hogan at Bash at the Beach. Goldberg being 'uncooperative' at New Blood Rising.

Kelly in the sink (slightly NSFW) What proof do we need? How about something other than pictures that could simply be a guy getting caught up in heavy partying and drinking. I doubt he's the first guy to do something like that while married. How about Kelly's friend referring to them as an item? Well, I'm convinced. Her friend said it so obviously it's true.

    UFC 96: Jackson vs. Jardine

Some interesting notes from Meltzer in the WOR recap of the show: Apparently, Dana White was unaware of the problems with Mir. After the weigh-ins, Kevin Iole and Neil Davidson, who had heard the knee story from Mir, spoke to Dana about what was happening and he denied the story, as he didn't know about it and figured if it was true he would have heard. After the conversation, Dana thought there might be something to it so he made some calls and Joe Silva made some calls and they found out the Mir had arthroscopic surgery on one of his knees. Mir's people asked for a delay and were told it might not be possible given that so many tickets had just been sold. Rashad Evans was doing PR work and when UFC went to him Evans said he could fight (in May), however their first choice to go to was GSP, who told them he couldn't do it as after the Penn fight he went right back to camp to help train Nate Marquardt for his fight recently and he wasn't able to go back to camp again so soon. Machida was called and verbally agreed to fight Rashad on the 23rd. Mir was then called and told his fight with Lesnar could be delayed and it's a virtual lock to take place on July 11th. However, the UFC thought process was that Jackson was the bigger star and if he won then he'd get the shot at Rashad in May instead. The clincher here is that Jackson, after doing the in-ring stuff with Rashad, was unaware that the fight had been moved to May, and subsequently was in a horrible mood at the press conference. He was then told that he didn't have to make a decision about taking the fight now and he could take some time to think it, probably by the end of the week, and if Jackson does turn down the fight then Machida will face Rashad in May and Jackson will get the winner. Also, Lesnar, as of at least Friday night, had no idea anything was wrong with his fight with Mir. They also talked about the Yves Lavigne deal. What had happened is that earlier in the night, the Aaron Riley/Shane Nelson feature what Dave called the 'worst stoppage I've ever seen in UFC history', with nobody in press row disagreeing with that assessment and the crowd going ballistic. The ref apparently wanted to change his might but thought he couldn't. Subsequently, the comission or someone told the referee's that in a similar situation, if you mess up this bad, you can change your mind, which appears to be what happened with Yves. Dana White can't bench for about week because he was so furious about what was happening in the Brown fight that he was pounding on the cage and the mat for Yves to stop the fight and wound up hurting himself to some degree. Matt Hamil had 'tremendous heat from the fighters, some with management and some with the fans' over his promo jumping and down because Munoz was still out cold.

Yves could be in trouble for that, even though the crowd were all for it. Matt Brown looked very good.

    Jericho and Kelly Kelly

Jericho and Kelly have been an open secret for a while now. I'm only mentioning it, because they're not hiding it anymore and it's likely going to come out soon anyway. If you don't believe it, fine. We might be inclined to at least find it credible if you would cite the source of this information.

TSM Call to Action Campaign 2009

I agree with this. JBL was a fun midcard act but not World Champion material. Sure, he got over in the end, but just about anyone would after being shoved down our throats for ten months. As for the heat he got, yes it was huge at times, but when you put that aside and look at the houses he drew (less than 1,000 on one infamous occasion, one of the lowest MSG crowds in years on another) you'll see the heat didn't translate into dollars at the gate. Seems like JBL was good at getting people to hate him but not at getting them to pay to hate him in person. As for him 'working the internet' what's the big deal about JBL, or anyone, having worked such a small percentage of the fans? The idea is to work as many fans as possible into coming to the arena or into buying the PPV. JBL failed on the first count and wasn't any great shakes on the second. People can love his act all they want, but they shouldn't fool themselves into the idea it was much of a success where it matters.
