Hey Fatty McFat Fat Thomas J Mayer is here! Everyone point and laugh!

You obviously haven't read the manual. *psht*

Try some reduced fat cookies instead. Maybe you'll become a sexy hot thumbtack.

A lot of other developed countries complain about America's role of "world police"--for example, our intervention in Bosnia in the 90s. Why don't these countries develop their military so that they can have a say in these situations and America doesn't HAVE to police the world? I'm not looking for cliche answers like "the French have no testicles." For instance, I know the lingering aura of Nazism is still very strong in Germany and thus they are very reluctant to act militarily or to arm themselves.

I'm kinda partial to Bad Post Pointout. Sorry.

Too bad. Ah hell, I'll just pay for the blasted liposuction.

Yeah? I have some pics from later in the race too (it was a half-marathon). I don't look nearly as chipper in those.

He's...glowing. That gives me an idea... can they get the Ukraine on the horn and see if they can bury Arafat at Chernobyl? Don't forget the dismembering...I know you loves you some dismembering.

This site doesn't do a very good job of dispelling the "Bushies are dumb" myth. (Scroll to the right) -
Which?

I'm all for low taxes, but the whole "it's my money--let me keep it" argument bothers me. Keep in mind, you couldn't make a dime without government support of the market, for example: -Printing the money. -Roads. -Rural electrification. -Government subsidized telephone wiring. -Satellite communications. -Police protection. -Military protection. -A criminal justice system. -Fire protection. -Paramedic protection. -Education. -Immunizatons. -Protection against plagues by the Centers for Disease Control. -Public-funded business loans, foreclosure loans and subsidies. -Protection from business fraud and unfair business practices. -The protection of intellectual property through patents and copyrights. -Student loans. -Government funded research and development. -National Academy of Sciences. -Economic data collected and analyzed by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. -Prevention of depressions by Keynesian policies at the Federal Reserve (successful for six decades now). -Dollars protected from inflation by the Federal Reserve. -Federal Emergency Management Agency. -Public libraries. -Cooperative Extension Service (vital for agriculture) -National Biological Service. -National Weather Service.

I just wanted Mike to respond if he had a chance, since he had been on. And... What do you care? Why you always hatin' on a playa? The .pdf don't display --- and I simply do not give enough of a shit to DL updates for Acrobat to read it. -=Mike Yeah this debate was kind of stupid. I was just trying to show that the blue states might not necessarily get their ass whipped, as you suggested. It turned into me blasting the red states, which is kind of blasphemous for me because I'm a red stater and, despite its hue, I love my red state. The map just showed a pretty heavy concentration of military bases along the eastern seabord and in Cali. The bases definitely weren't overwhelmingly in the South.

If you like long distance and are competitive, you should enter a local 5K or 10K race. They're addictive.

I agree about the ineptitude of the S. Vietnamese. There were a few instances of RVN troops fighting fiercely and bravely near the end, as city after city fell, but very few prior to that.
-
Actually, leaving Vietnam allowed such atrocities as the Cambodian Killing Fields to occur. Oh, and Iran is on the verge of toppling. There is a very strong, quiet pro-democracy movement. Having a neighbor next door that is what the youth of the country want is going to cause the theocracy some problems. -=Mike Good points, both. Let's cross our fingers on Iran.
