    Alex Wright....

That was the period in late '97 when Wright was managed by Debra and helping her battle ex-hubby Steve McMichael. For a brief time she aided Jeff Jarrett, Wright, Eddie Guerrero, and Bill Goldberg, which made for a decent stable of wrestlers, IMO.

    Alex Wright....

I wouldn't say overshadowed. I would say "guys don't wanna bump for Alex since he's a cruiser so we'll give the HOSS~! the push" was more like it. It was the Jim Ross mentality at that point, although WCW was pretty low on the monster heels save for Steiner (who was playing face/tweener during much of the Wall push) and Nash (ditto).

    Alex Wright....

I do believe Hogan's influence had a lot to do with it, as Flair loved the kid. Flair was a vocal supported of Wright and wanted to help elevate him. There was also talk of Wright being turned into a cocky heel and joining the Horsemen, which led to the "Plan B" of him being a member of the Rogue Horsemen, which was to be Pillman's group when he officially split. I have the Observer that mentions this somewhere upstairs, and off the top of my head I believe it was going to be Pillman, Benoit (whom he'd get to turn on Flair/Arn) Wright and either Regal or Malenko as the fourth. Also can't forget the company wanting to push him hard with the Berlyn gimmick, but Duggan and Bagwell didn't want to job out to him and put up a stink.

    WWE Fires Rikishi

Yes, because the family that owns the company will fire themselves. Yeesh. Anyways, onto the topic at hand, I don't think it was really the heel turn that did Rikishi in, but it's the way everything after the fact happened. Had they kept him as a killer heel with the right motivation to injure Austin, it could have worked. Having him become Triple H's lackey made him look like less of a star than he was at the time, and he never recovered. The fact that he never freshened up his gimmick also hurt him greatly. As for the TNA Samoan Swat Team idea, that was an idea I felt should have happened in WWE when they ditched Jamal and needed something for Rosey to do. I don't think it would be that bad, personally. 'Kish isn't a great worker these days, but it would be nice to see him not making a living off his fat ass and dancing around the ring again.

I found the Evenflow appearance and the nachos well worth the time I spent reading this.

    Goodbye.

Damn me and my 57 1/2 hour work weeks for not being able to talk to you lately, thus finding out the hard way now. Hope to see you popping in at times, and you can be sure that you'll be in for a story or two when you do. The cycle is ongoing, after all . Seriously though, good luck with the new place. Stay in touch man, it's been said before but you are one of the cooler people I've talked to from here.
  16. Eh, I don't mind the movies, but as a close to the show, I think they could have done better than Hulk falling out of a plane to his death.

    The Hurricane

If Big Dave is still hanging with Randy at this point, just have Rosey get in Helms' face, and Shane/Gregory/whatever hides behind Batista, siccing him on Rosey. Dave demolishes him for Shane/Gregory/whatever, and those two could have a nice instigator/intimidator dynamic as a tag team.
  18. Amen to that! My picks: -That Was Then (never got a chance, but had a great premise) -Quantum Leap (count me in with the masses) -The Incredible Hulk (ended pretty abruptly. They could have kept it going given the format it followed with Banner bouncing from town to town, helping people.)

    The Hurricane

I've been thinking this for ages, and just mentioned it to someone in a PM. Helms going heel and being the cocky youngster is a perfect fit for an Orton led Evolution when/if that turn happens. I say Orton, Batista, Helms and Maven would comprise it.

    Replica Belt Question

The deluxe belts are real leather, as opposed to the simulated leather on the normal ones.

Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle

I loved the trailer for it before Dodgeball. "Starring That Asian dude from American Pie, and the Indian Guy from National Lampoon's Van Wilder..." Awesome.

Anchorman- The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Local newspaper here (Providence Journal Bulletin) gave it one star, although the guy that writes for it is another one of those who shits on movies, then takes back his criticism when they hit big. He tore into Ace Ventura years back and gave it one star, but when it became a smash hit, he CHANGED THE RATING to **1/2 stars to make it seem like he at least enjoyed some of it. The moral of the story: Fuck critics.

A boatload of games for $4.99 each.

I know about 5 people who work at the one closest to me, and plan on getting the scoop on when they expect shipments too. I'm also gonna see if they can raid the boxes beforehand and maybe put a few games I haven't caught yet aside for me.

Ate dinner with Sean O'Haire tonight...

I believe K-1 used him as a surprise on a recent show in Japan.

I haven't seen any of those, and I've been to two Circuit City's in two days.
