Your justification for the Pistons/Spurs series just tells me how insane believing that league officals called refs to tell them to fix a game. On on hand you have the Spurs, a proven non draw in the finals and the Pistons, who won the year before and not to great ratings. On the other you have a 62 win Suns team that happened to have the MVP in Steve Nash and had the most watched games in the playoffs, and the team in the East with the most watched games in the playoffs, who happened to have superstar Dwayne Wade and the runner up to the MVP race. So the NBA fixed it so that they could have one big rating game in the Laker/Sacramento series, but not for a series that honestly would have demolished the ratings of that series. That makes NO sense. Its just plain dumb to think the league officials told these guys to fix a game. Even if you believe the game was fixed, the goddamn LEAGUE isn't going to throw away their entire existance to do it. "Why not?" The league was just then gaining back relevance after the strike took alot of it away. They would have been fucking morons to fix a game, get exposed as having a rigged league, and losing their fanbase for a LONG fucking time. I need to repeat this because I don't think it is sinking in. You are suggesting that the NBA League offices risked a multi BILLION dollar industry so that they could get some extra ratings for the Kings Lakers game. Thats like shooting yourself in the neck because there might be a cute nurse on duty that night. Its a incredibly stupid plan. There are plenty of other cases where there was bad officiating in a NBA game. The reason he picked this game is because it was well known. And no I didn't describe Jose Canseco. When he was writing his book, he was saying players were taking steroids to try and get better. This A: Was no suprise to anyone and B: completely believeable. Now if he said that MLB sent in representatives where the team would line up and be given a shot of Anabolic Steroids so the league would look better, then I would have called bullshit. And that is still more believeable than someone in charge in the NBA calling refs and saying "fix the game". Let alone the refs agreeing to do it.

Yeah, I hate lollipop but understand its commercial appeal.

Um.... <------- LOOK AT THE TITTIES!!!

I am. I mean, why mouth off now? What does he have to gain by exposure, versus what he has to gain by keeping his mouth shut? Is he doing it for the good of the NBA? I think the smart analysis is that you really need corroboration before you take anything seriously. He is not credible in my eyes. Point in case, this isn't something that is new as in, "He just started saying this!", but rather this is something that he already told the feds a while ago, and revealed it due to the $1,000,000 bill that the NBA recently stuck him with. This would have eventually come out sooner or later, Donaghy just seemed content to not talk about it until the NBA actually did something. On corroboration, we'll have to wait and see the evidence, and I agree at not completely trusting him. I'm not saying that he's completely believable, but lying would hurt him ten times worse than it would help him at this point and that fact should be taken into account. It's hard to just say "Nope, not going to believe it" with the stuff we are seeing right now. How is it going to hurt him more? He is going to jail. He claimed that the NBA is doing things that he can't prove and is only his word. There will be no perjury unless they can prove he is lying (and they won't be able to prove it either way) thus all he is getting is more publicity and he gets his upcoming book all the more "juicy". Until someone can explain to me how the Spurs/Pistons series happened, I am not going to buy the NBA CONSPIRACY theories. What the hell was SO important about the Lakers/Sacramento series that they would risk LITERALLY EVERYTHING to make that game happen. And I mean EVERYTHING. Their entire professional and for a while personal lives out the window so that they could add ONE freaking game to ONE freakin series. Because unless you are saying that this was a common occurance, this is what you are saying. That the NBA league officials risked the fate of a BILLION dollar industry so that they could get one game. That is beyond silly to me. Hell, I think we are dealing with human nature here and in game calls can get wonky sometimes, but we aren't dealing with some grand conspiracy called down from the league office to officials. What does Tim D have to gain? He is a asshole who hated his coworkers (even got into a fist fight with one before) and now is pointing out refs he knew were company men that were fixing games. He is trying to destroy their careers just because he is a fucking dick and he can sell more books.
-
I ask you, you think that it is more likely for the NBA, its league officials, David stern and all the refs to risk serious criminal charges and never making another penny in their lives off of basketball, thus throwing away hundreds of millions of dollars forever so that they can get a boost in ratings than it is to believe that the guy that was FIXING GAMES FOR THE MOB AND BETTING ON THEM might be lying so he doens't have to go to jail or just because he wants to screw over the league? We aren't talking about a group of retards here. We are talking about smart business men that would not sacrifice billions of long term dollars for millions of short term dollars. That is just beyond insane to believe. ESPECIALLY when we have exactly ONE guy saying they did it. There are DOZENS of officials with series axes to grind against the NBA. There is a million dollar book deal and immunity and historical fame if you would out the NBA for its practices. Yet NO ONE else except the game fixing criminal has decided to do it. No, that doesnt sound realistic to me.
-
Its not stupid. You have dozens of NBA former NBA officials that have felt completely screwed over by the league, sued them for firing them and such. But not a SINGLE one of them has EVER said anything close to this. The only one that has said anything along these terms happens to be going to prison for fixing games for the mob because of his gambling debts. Just a little strange to me.

At 199.99 its actually worth it. It was just too much money before for it to be basically a dumbed down, prettier version of a WM phone. I would actually consider getting one, but if I am not confused, it is a hassle getting in the thing and using another Sim card, right? If so, screw that.

The lakers haven't played close to great defense on KG. KG is just playing like a fucking moron. We have watched him beat guys off the dribble have a clear path for a dunk, then pull up for a short jumper and miss. that is fucking retarded and thats why he is missing so many shots. Gasol CAN"T stay in front of you. IF the Lakers want to double you for some reason, LET THEM. GO to the fucking rim and finish at the rim and stop being such a fucking pussy. The Celtics did tonight what the Lakers did for 2 games. Just shoot jumpers. Pierce was getting people in the air, taking a step, jabbing for no reason and fading away on jumpshots for no reason whatsoever. But the main culprit in this loss was Doc Rivers. Between Sam Cassell, lack of Leon Powe, and playing House way too long after he should have been playing him the entire series, and not getting Ray Allen the ball (seriously, the guy can score on anyone on the court...give him the fucking ball) he just shat a brick last night and Phil coached circles around him. Phil coached like a guy on the brink. IF guys came in and stunk up the joint, you didn't see them anymore...simple as that. Doc left them in the game to play through it. Still a good game though. Game 4 should be a blowout though. For who? I don't know...but someone is getting blown out.
-
Ray Allen vs Kobe Bryant is always fun. I am shocked at the number of people not seeing it coming.
-
I mean it was a clear case of "watch Yao when he does this". They watched him and called the fouls. Again...I don't see the problem.
-
I never got the big f'n deal here. It happens all the time. Coaches or players see something complain, the refs make a point to adjust. LIke when Josh Howard was tripping suns players going up the court in the Suns Mavs series a few years back(pure genius by the way). The suns pointed it out, the refs called it, Josh Howard stop tripping people. I don't get the big deal.

What the fuck ever. Listen, little known fact. The NBA fires a official almost every season. They have their own method of determining who is doing the best job and who is doing the worse and they fire the worse(I remember that one of the first female officials was fired a few years back after being the suckiest). So of all these officials who have plenty of a reason to blow the whistle, none of them have come forward with news of all these stories of wrongdoings and corruption in the NBA. It is just an asshole trying to throw everyone under the bus to save his own ass.

I think its been made pretty clear that he is bothered by the fact people are pretending this is a man. Its a cut up woman. Of course she can have a baby. I find it annoying. Not disgusting or whatever, but I just think its a otherworldly dumb story. There is no pregnant man. She is doing what millions of other women are doing. Having a baby. AMAZING!!!!!

I was like " I have to see this movie...it sounds totally kickass" and then you said it was a porn and lost its luster.
-
I honestly think it will be Boston in a close one followed by the Lakers winning the next one or two before being put away in 6.
-
*raises hand* And there is no reason it shouldn't happen in EVERY game. No one can match up with him. he plays the way KG should be playing.
-
The refs were just crap tonight though. Although alot of those calls were accurate: A: They were bitch ass touch fouls that shouldn't be called and kills the flow of the game. B: They weren't calling the same bitchass calls consistantly for the Lakers. That is what was wrong with the game. I think it will be more balanced or bias in LA, but tonight was horrible. The Lakers just need to comeout over the top aggressive in the next game. It would take balls the size of globes to give Kobe 3 fouls in the first quarter in LA. He should know that and go out there and just fuck shit up. Also, the Lakers really are looking like they aren't executing their offense in the last two games. Maybe they will get their shit together back in LA. I expect them to.
-
That's not up to them. It's hard to win when you get outshot by ~30 at the line. the lakers should have had about 10 more freethrows, but they did get jumpshot happy this game. Kobe is letting them keep him out the lane instead of just going in there regardless. Pau was getting raped near the end of the first half and in the third though and he definately should have seen more Ft's and Kobe was getting the shit fouled out of him off the ball. But most of those fouls that Powe drew were pretty fair.
-
Not that pierce isn;t fouling Kobe, but his head band didn't mysteriously move up his head by itself on that play. Anyway, nice comeback from the Lakers. I said celtics in 5-6. I personally think its going to be closer to the 5.
-
I know I asked it before, but I have to ask again....how did Luke Walton go from important cog in the Laker offense to worse player in their rotation? In one freaking offseason?
-
I wonder if a superstar has ever been ejected from a finals....hell...playoff game with techs when it really mattered(not getting kicked out with 2 minutes left in a blowout. Like...kicked out in the 2nd quarter or something). I remember this one time Utah was playing Seattle in the first round, and Gary Payton had gotten a T earlier. Then he and Karl Malone got into it later and it was a double T. Gary looked at the ref and said "you just kicked me out the game". The ref changed the call to just a T on Malone. I thought it was so hilarious that they were so obvious with the bias.

Doc Rivers is charismatic as fuck. I see why he will always have a job in the NBA.
-
Not true at all. Women to men trannies are quite impressive and can pass quite well. go to any lesbian club and prepare to be amazed. And that isnt' even with surgical help. Personally I just don't give a shit. I am just not going to call this woman a man. Because she is a woman. And this story is really "Woman to give birth soon." Which just doesn't sound that impressive.
-
They should just make a "there can only be one" commercials with two refs. Because apparently that is what everyone is tuning in to see. Refs blow the whistle. this game should get really interesting once the refs decide to stop fucking the Lakers over and let them play.

I am not overrating Maxiell. He is a good role player. One of those kinda players that you need to win a championship. the problem is that I think other people are overrating Kaman because he had a good half a season this year. A: Kaman is not very good offensively. As I have said, for a guy that doesn't really take jumpers, to shoot 48 percent is far from good. plus he is slow as hell in setting up his move so his offense brings the entire teams offense to a halt. Plus he isn't a good passer. B: Kaman is not a good rebounbder. Yes, he had an impressive number this year, but he also averaged 7 per game last season when he played the whole year. He doesn't box ot well, and is a "get what comes to you" rebounder instead of go get it rebounder. C: Kaman is a GOD aweful defender. Like, laughably bad. People look at him being tied for 2nd in blocks as being a good defender. Much like Andrew Bogut, Marcus Camby and Amare Stoudimire(who are all amoung the league leaders in blocks) he is a fucking horrible defender that will get a block on the weakside, but doesn't even think about maybe defending the pick and roll, he is too slow to defend the more athletic bigs and the stronger back to the basket bigs just back him down like he is a point guard and score on him. What I am saying is that you guys are talking about trading an actual productive player for one that puts up fools gold. Yes he has numbers. But they are some of the more ineffective numbers you will ever see. He scores 15 a game...but at a low percentage for his position and hurts the team because he is too slow and can't pass. He gets 2.8 blocks per game, but is a bad defender...like...really bad. He got 12+ rebounds a game this year, but once again, abberation. He is a 7 footer that managed to average 7 rebounds per game. Chris kaman is Eddy Curry only a slightly better rebounder and not as good of a scorer. Thus he could be useful some places(ie: Chicago). Detroit isn't one of them. If Maxiell gets 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assist, 0 blocks, in a game, he probably still made more of a impact than Kaman does. Kaman being on the court HURTS the team more times than not. Bottomline, a deep bench will get your further than just adding a guy like Kaman.
