Okay fine. I am not a Lakers fan because I have a IQ over 3. Now in no way should any Laker fan take that as a insult because I didn't say that all Laker fans are stupid. As a matter of fact I don't see how that could possibly suggest that I think Laker fans have a IQ below 3 because I didn't literally say it. Actually YOU said that Dirk and Nash are loved by the media more than any other player. YOU also said that Kobe would get some votes because the media bends over for Nash and Dirk. So I ASKED are you saying that the ONLY REASON that they would get the votes is because the media loves them. Then pointed out why that is stupid because there are actual reasons one of them will win the award and not "The media just loves Nash and Dirk". Thats not putting words in your mouth. So we are arguing that the only reason Nash and Dirk are getting the press as MVP candidates is because the media loves them? there is NO other reason, oh say like, their teams records, the number one and number two best records in the league, that might have something to do with them getting all that press...MAYBE?? Are we pretending that Dwayne Wade doesn't get more love than anyone, also because he might happen to be a defending champion. Come on now. The Lakers are on the edge of suckage. Right now they are a mediocre team. The BEST teams get the most press. The BEST players on the BEST teams get the most press. Thats how it has been forever. Come on now, its has nothing to do with bending over. One team is on pace to win 68 games and the other somewhere around 61-62. Giving one of those guys the MVP is not "bending over" for them, thats giving the deserved winners the award. I honestly don't feel you can go wrong either way with Nash or Dirk, but since Dirk should have won it last year, I say give it to him this year.

I don't think its possible for Kobe to get alot of the votes with Nash and Dirk hogging them all.

Hey, I am not just putting my guys in there. I really think they are defensive player of the year material. marion is in the top 5 in steals and top 20 in blocks, and is number 10 in rebounds(a true defensive stat if you ask me) things that don't show up wise, he get ALOT of deflections and generally guards the other teams best offensive player. I mean, he did a monster job in one week shutting out Tracy Mcgrady and dirk(as much as you can shut out dirk) while also switching to who ever else got hot in those games. Josh smith IMO is the best shotblocker in the league, and Jermaine O'neal only blocks .4 more shots than him. And he is playing at the SF position. he guards 3 positions nightly, is number 19 in steals and is just a plain game changer on the defensive end. Hell, you saw him in that blowout indiana win the other night. He had 4 blocks and would have had at least 4 more if not for guards reaching downlow and getting cheap fouls. Jermaine blocks shots from the weakend and rebounds pretty well... I am sorry but he isn't in these two guys league right now.

And prison rape is not one on one. Thats why there are prison GANGS. A CO is not there to run in recklessly and die to save a prisoner from getting raped. Is it messed up, sure, but once again, prison is not a fucking vacation. Its messed up. PUNISHMENT is the only change that can be made in the policy towards prison rape. Avoiding it, I am sorry, but it is nearly impossible to do safely for the staff.

Lets not be confused here. the lack of T-mac injury is the reason this team is playing so well. The Battier trade was very good, and Chuck Hayes has been helpful, but Mutumbo has been there, Snyder has pretty much been a non-factor outside of having the lowest amount of body fat I have ever seen on a basketball player. Basically the Rockets are palying like they would have had they not lost both guys last year. They really didn't upgrade much. Toronto on the other hand brought in NINE new players. And they are going to win the Atlantic, and I am serious when I tell people, watch out for them in the East playoffs. And seriously, the balls he displayed on the TJ Ford for Charlie long ass last name wins him the award anyway. If you took all the moves from the past TWO years then yeah, Carroll Dawson is up there, but for this season alone, I don't see how you can not give it to Colangelo.

Sixth Man of the year - Leandro Barbosa or...well...since Gordon has been starting so much in Chicago...thats about it. My Vote? Barbosa Rookie of the year - Brandon Roy or Andrea Barngani(sp) - My vote? Although the big Italian has been big as of late, Roy wins this Defensive player of the year - Josh Smith or Shawn Marion - My Vote? Shawn Marion. if there are other candidates out there that I am missing, please let me know, but in my eyes, these two have been the cream of the crop in the NBA this year. Homerism or not. Coach of the Year - Avery Johnson, Jerry Sloan, Sam Mitchell - My Vote? - Avery honestly, then Mitchell then Sloan. Executive of the year - Bryan Colangelo. No one else in the running. Most Improved - Kevin Martin or Monta Ellis - My Vote? Monta Ellis.

First, the foul did look worse because Kobe kept driving after he got wrapped up at which point Bell through him back. Bell didn't even move on the drive. He just stood there, Kobe went right bell grabbed, Kobe took two more steps. People act like it was Dennis Rodman pushing Scottie Pippen into the stands or something. By the way, Dwayne Wade takes 11 free throws a game. Kobe takes just under 10. James takes just under 9. So Kobe gets more calls than Lebron James and nearly as many as Wade. And Kobe has the most perimeter oriented game of the 3. Once again. Conspiracy theory doesn't fly.

I will completely disagree with him being a better shooter. Marvin williams broke his shooting hand early this year, but since he took off that partial cast on it, he has been shooting about 50 percent from the field and almost all of his offense is jumpshots right now (thats not a good thing) Plus he definately has more range than Durant. I forgot to add that Kevin is a much better passer than Marvin williams. But right now Shooting(not by much) Ball handling and overall defense I give the edge to Marvin Williams. Shot blocking, and Passing I give to Durant. I do agree that with his long build he should have the chance to be a better defender, but at the same time, he literally doesn't try alot of games to defend anyone. Thats not cool. By the way, don't get me wrong. In no means is Marvin Williams a great one on one defender, but he is better than durant. You honestly want to see what I think a real NBA comparison to Kevin Durant? Darius Miles. I think he would have dominated in college because he had a simular build and offensive skill set ( Durant is a better shooter though) but I just don't see it in the long haul.

Nash never scores on me honestly unless I miss a rotation on defense and he is wide open. Point guards don't have big games on me. Its the 2 guards that do me in.

I disagree with that. I think that only a certain number of points could really play under that system well. You know the funny thing about that Hawks pick? Kevin Durant is a better weakside shot blocking, worse ball handling and on the ball defensive version of Marvin Williams. Williams is a 6'9" PF with handles that has a very nice outside shot from the college 3 and can hit the NBA 3. He has some post game but mostly relies on quickness down there. Kevin Durant is a 6'10" guy who is going to be too small to bang down low, his handles aren't as good as Williams and his jump shot is just about as consistant as Marvins. I don't get the hype honestly. yeah, he is kicking the shit out of other college players.

Webber and Wallace played just about as flawless as they could and it was still a close game, then Flip Murry came in and went apeshit and hit everything he took. Plus the Suns were really really sloppy, mostly thanks to the freakishly long arms of Wallace and Webber. Barbosa was off, Hamilton was off...but it as still quite a entertaining ass kicking by the Pistons. The most important part to me is that D'Antoni, knowing the Suns have to play tonight in Dever, pulled his starters with 7 minutes left in a 18 point game. I thought they might have tried to make another run at it, but the way the pistons were playing, why risk it. Although fuck Flip Saunders for keeping his starters in until 2 minutes left against Pat Burke, Eric Piakowski and Jermaine Jones.

Here is a random question. If you had the chance, would you take Deron Williams or Chris Paul now? I mean if that draft was done over and you knew now what you knew then (and Chris Paul hadn't been hurt this year) who would you take? I honestly don't know. Williams is a better offensive player kinda (well he is a better shooter) but Paul can literally take over games. As a point guard, I honestly thing Williams is a better pure point. Plus you have to factor in how big Deron is. I think I would take williams by a LITTLE over paul.

If you are flailing your arms just to make it the contact more apparent, if you hit somthing, its giong to affect the path of your arm. Like if I just let my arms flail around and they hit the person next to me, my arm is going to bend and react because I was loosely flailing them and wasn't expecting to hit anything. Kobe hit two 200lb plus men and the follow through knocked them back even further. His arm didn't bend. he was expecting to hit something. So if he was swinging high and expecting to hit something, then he is just plain stupid for being amazed that he would get suspended when it hits the guy in the face.

Not close to the same thing. If terry hadn't been there the ball just would have went back into play. For that rule to be in place you would be arguing that if a player dives to save a ball, it should count as out of bounds. Plus terry has a opportunity to make a play on the ball and I have seen the guy catch the ball quite a few times.
