    Eddie Murphy

I think you need to shift your downturn years to around Distinguished Gentlemen(which did well, but didn't do "EDDIE" numbers). But seroiusy, he has 7 movies that didn't make their budget back, (8 really, but you didn't count Mulan which unless I am confused, didn't make the money back) And 4 of those 7 where arguably good movies. THere is no defese for Holy Man, and Pluto Nash. I haven't seen Haunted Mansion. I think the fact that all 8 of those offensive failures happened between 1994-2003 makes it looks worse than it is, namely because he had at least 6-7 HUGE hits in that same time period. My point still is that the Eddie Murphy career death is overrated. Noone could concievably keep up the pace he had in the early part of his career. He made nearly a billion dollars in the 80s off of 7 movies.

Please name one rational reason to hate on beyonce that fucking much. ONE. ANd I know, you were just making a comment but you have to know that this is something that has come up over and over and over and over and over again by so many people and I am honestly waiting for one reason to dislike Beyonce so much.

    24 - Season 6

They clearly said that the place was like 20 miles away from the suburbs Jack was in and it was a "small nuclear bomb" (that just sounds odd to say) so I would doubt that the radius would be that far. The first one....wasn't he pretty freakin far away when that went off also? I didn't see a spoiler but when Jack and Curtis first argued over the guy I know Curtis was a goner. People are saying it was out of character for Curtis, but seroiusly, everyone has a breaking point. Not everyone is Jack Bauer and could work with their proverbial Nina Myers without snapping. Only difference between Jack and Curtis is that Jack waited until he was done with Nina and Henderson helping him before he shot them. Curtis was not interested in waiting. Plus, Curtis goes through something tramatic with terrorist and then goes on to be in CTU. That event was probably the reason for hisprofessional existance. of course he wanted to off the guy. Jack whispering "Please" as he reaimed was the saddest part for me. ANd the music kicked all kinds of ass. Is Christophe Beck doing the score this year or something?

    Eddie Murphy

I don't understand how people can't like Metro. In my mind I just change the main characters name to Axel, Michael Rappaports character to Billy Rosewood, Art Evans' character is John Taggart and thats my own Beverly Hills Cop III (because I refuse to acknowledge the actual one) It was one kickass action movie.

    PlayStation 3

No, but the PS2 had plenty of crappy games on the console, plus whatever solid games they had, they were also released on the Xbox. Playstation came out a year early, and it really took Microsoft nearly two years to become a credible system. At the end of 2004 and beginning of 2005, most games were made for the Xbox (minus EA those assholes) and crappier versions of say Splinter Cell were released to the PS2 and Gamecube. (I have no qualms with GC. The layout design of the controller blew ass, but had a lot of fun games). Other than RPG games, is there anything else that is PS2 or PS3 exclusive? Are you honest to God saying that PS2 had an issue with its GAME LIBRARY?! And that XBox got all of the "solid" games? That's so blatantly wrong it isn't even funny. And picking Splinter Cell as being vastly superior on Xbox is ridiculousy biased. That's one of the, oh, 1 in 50 games that were better in Xbox in major non-graphical ways. Even when PS2 version is inferior it usually sells better, anyway. XBox is really awesome if you like space marines, though. It's only the top-selling first-party franchise ANY of the consoles have. Yeah, give it up, Sony. LOL PS2 has/had the best fighters, best RPGs, best action games, the best oddball quirky Japanese titles, the best horror games, best platformers, best selection of compilations, etc. That's not even counting the PS1 games it plays, too. XBox has...oh...maybe the best selection of FPSers, and a bunch of other PC-ish genres like WW2 squad shooters. PS2 kicks its ass in every other area. It's okay. You can admit you liked the games that were made for Sony's shitty hardware. The Xbox was/is a better system for reasons completely illegal though. It is probably the greatest video game system ever with linux installed on it.

    Eddie Murphy

I forgot to add Life and Showtime as pretty underrated Eddie Murphy movies. Honestly I think the whole "Eddie's career is over" thing is the most overrated thing ever. Yeah, when he bombs he FUCKING BOMBS, but in between all the bad there is a huge hit. So for every Beverly Hills Cops III or Harlem Nights(I have come to fully accept that this move blew) there was a blockbuster. So I don't think he ever actually fell off Stallone style.

    Eddie Murphy

Well....Eddie Murphy playing multiple characters in a movie has always been kickass to me so I will see this. And yeah, eddie has done some shitty movies like Holy Man, Haunted Mansion and shit like that, but I will be damned if anyone calls Golden Child a bad movie. And Metro, Distinguished Gentlemen, Vampire in Brooklyn, I Spy and Boomerang were all severely underrated. And if you saw what they paid him to do Pluto Nash, you would have told him to do Pluto Nash. Didn't he get like 20 million for that. People can bitch about the doolittle movies and the Klumps (I actually like the Klumps and Nutty Professor) but they made a shit load of money.

The team that could use Webber is the bulls. He provides scoring down low(okay, down low ish...I don't think he has played with his back to the basket in years) but he plays extremely well with perimeter shooters. There is the best fit. I honestly don't see him fitting in anywhere else that has a chance at a championship.

    Dreamgirls

Damn good movie. Stuck pretty faithfully to the play except for two parts that I can think of and they weren't horrible at all. As for the performances: Eddie Murphy : Amazing. Should definately be seeing a best supporting actor nod come Oscar time. I have nothing bad to say about his performace. Perfect. Beyonce: Damn good performance. She played a damn good Diana/Deena Jones. Plus her performance of Listen was great. There is one or two cringe worthy delievery of lines but not any more than you see out of any actor or actress. Everything she has done before now is officially written off in my eyes and she can now be seen as a actress, although I have this feeling that she will negate this performance with whatever she does next. And if being pretty was a talent, she would win awards for this movie...or something like that...its late. Jennifer Hudson: Amazing. Should definately be seeing best supporting actress nod come Oscar time. I fully realize that the part of Effie is pretty much showing limited range(Sassy, Angry, Sad). But she played them all convincingly and performed the HELL out of the songs. Dreamgirls has "And I am telling you I am not going" as its make or break number. If the girl playing Effie gives a alright performance then people will come away saying it was just alright. Well, the entire theater broke out in applause (well except for me and a few other people who probably realized how stupid it was to applaud at a screen) during and after her number, and honestly it was awe inspiring. I know that the studio is trying to push Listen as a Oscar Nom for Best Song (I guess get Beyonce one and Jennifer one of Best Supporting) but her performance of this song blows most anything I have seen in film away. Amazing overall performance. Jamie Foxx: You can't be more middle grown with a performance. He wasn't bad, he wasn't great. He was...good. He spent to much of the movie making these wierd scowls (because he was the villian you see) and that just looked silly. His performance when he actually had lines was pretty good. But Foxx should never have to convey a emotion with his eyes and facial expression again, because its just not very good. I musical numbers it looked like he forgot to move his lips sometimes, but his voice was strong, as expected. He also did a good job of showing the subtle villiany of Curtis, so in that aspect, good job. Anika Noni Rose: This girl will go down as the most underapprecited performace in the movie. She almost did a better job than everyone of the girls in the movie. Great job with her voice (in the beginning conveying youth and having a stonger more mature voice as the film went on and her character got older) and went from giggly school girl to full fledged woman. Damn good job. I am sure the Tony's that she has at home will confort her when people forget her subtle performance next to Beyonce and Hudson's. As for the other characters, the guy who played C.C. couldn't act but could sing, so thats...something. Sharon Leal's vocal strength was not used as well as it could have been and her character came off more annoying than in the stage play. Loretta Devine makes a cameo as a Jazz singer and it was good to see her in there and her song is kinda a shout out to her role in the original. And I marked the fuck out for Hinton Battle who no one else recognized so fuck them. Overall, great movie experience, although I don't think that it is a best picture nominee with this being such a powerful year in film. If this was last year it would win hands down to me, IMO. That is something. A movie that I feel shouldn't get a Nom this year would have won last year. Last year sucked.

Getting webber for league minimum is not retarded. Getting him with his current contract is. And that rumored deal between atlanta, washington and Portland is bs. Sekou Smith (Atlantas beat writer) was just shooting out some of the deals that people have been emailing him then said that this one would benifit the hawks well. I disagree however seeing as I still believe that Salim Stoudimire is probably the most amazing shooter in the league, and in the right system(ie: any one not coached by Mike Woodson) he could give you 20 plus a night off the bench.

I will guess he means the second or third level of Black. Actually there is no fucking way to tell what the hell he is talking about so I am just throwing a guess out there. Of course there were no bosses in Black really... I just felt like saying BLACK I guess.

    NBA Roundtable Discussion

So Alf, now that Jermaine O'neil has basically said he wants to get traded....do you feel it will happen. And does he realize that the only teams with the cap space to take on his salary without breaking a team would probably be the Hawks or The BobCats(who don't need him) while the Hawks need a big man with a post game. In other words, if he doesn't shut the fuck up, he will be a Hawk.

    NBA Roundtable Discussion

And thats the problem. Bynum couldn't hold his own again Amare, because if Amare doesn't know how to do anything else, its draw fouls on guys. You see what he did to Dwight Howard. Active defensive players get alot of fouls on Amare because of his hurky jerky moves in the post and he is great at creating contact and getting other bigs in the air. The Lakers gave them hell in the playoffs last year because of mismatchs all over the court, but this year it would be Amare on a big instead of Diaw on a 7 ft. Brown. Then you have all the rest of the defense shift. into better positions.

    NBA Roundtable Discussion

They are good, no doubt, but they aren't beating Phoenix or Dallas in a 7 game series. Unless some injuries come about. They will lose in the second round. But I personally say we are a good season or two from them being SERIOUS title contenders. If Lamar odem could consistantly defend the 3, they could have a Kobe, Odem, Brown, Bynum starting lineup and that it just too much big and too much talent for any other team in the league.

    24 - Season 6

Seriously. Season 3 is not getting enough love. I would go: Season 1 Season 3 Season 4 Season 5 Season 2 And yeah, I LOVED Season 2. LOVED THE HELL out of it. That first half of the season was incredible with the nuke, but then it was still good but it kinda fell off after that. But fell off to like super badass instead of superduper badass.

    Fox Cancels "The O.C."

I agree with the 40 year old part. Not so much the hot part. But I never watched the show either, just wanted to see if the people that did thought it was time for it to end or was fox just cancelling shit again. And yeah, I will never understand people that rejoice when a show they don't watch goes off the air.

Denver CB Darrent Williams Shot & Killed

Well....they did get shot. They didn't shoot anyone. I think that point that some of the NBA guys, alot of the MLB guys and some NFL guys are making is that them having money makes them a target. Of course we have yet to see the case where athlete shoots armed robbers. But there are plenty of cases like with Julius Hodge and Andre Blathe(however you say that guys name from the Wizards) were shot for what it seems like having nice cars. People can say all this "their lifestyles" shit, and Tank Johnson and his artillery is the exception because he definately was a dumbshit, but people are pretending that these players are reckless because they go out to clubs to have a good time. Thats just not fair. this dude went to Kenyon Martins birthday party at a club and got shot to death. Nothing in those actions say anything about his lifestyle causing it. Unless we are pretending that the night club industry doesn't exist and that the vast majority of us have all been in the clubs, especially around age 22. If they find out something like him pulling a gun on someone earlier or something of the like, then fine, talk about how his lifestyle might have contributed to it. But going to a party doesn't suggest a lifestyle to lead to getting shot to death. And on another note, I think saying "fuck you" at the end of a good point doesn't really count as a flame. Just saying fuck you would, but calling someone stupid, then pointing out why they were stupid and fuck your dumbass point seems like a pretty legit post to me. Just my two cents.

Denver CB Darrent Williams Shot & Killed

To be fair, anytime black guys do anthing with their hands it a gang sign. I remember some really stupid people complaining when Shaq and Jordan were doing "gang signs" in this one allstar game. THey are in the same gang as Ahmad Rashad and Bill Cosby.
