NBA Playoffs 2008 - Conference Finals

Good game for the Pistons, but if Allen shows up for the rest of the series...man. Yeah, I am starting to figure out the real reason that the Celtics are losing on the road. It has nothing to do with home and away, they seem to just play like crap in close games. They had a blessing in the last series where they only had to stop one guy and they would win. Against Atlanta, they lost every close game. Its the execution that is killing them.

What I don't understand is the complete and total lack of Jarvis Hayes so far. the guy was very valuable to them in the regular season.

RAY FUCKING ALLEN has decided to join us in the playoffs. I got to tell yah, there are few guys that I will cheer forever, despite what team they are on, but Ray Allen is one of them.

NBA Playoffs 2008 - Conference Finals

Both teams took turns playing like shit. The Lakers played like shit when it didn't matter, the Spurs played like shit when it did. PGOAT, you are right, thinking back, that play didn't matter and they made the "make up call" when Ginobli obviously knocked the ball out. But if you have to count on Lamar Odom playing out of his mind to win, you have a problem. He beat the shit out of Utah because mehmet Okur is fucking horrible defensively. The Spurs front line might have a issue, but the spurs are great at funneling guys to Duncan which is why he struggled. Don't get me wrong, I think its going to be a close series and all, I just think the Spurs going up 20 and the Lakers being able to put together a game where they could come back from 20 down were both things I just don't see happening in the the series often. Or at all.

Not to point out the obvious, but I am sure that Toni Parker and Manu having bad games factor into the Spurs wins and losses a fuck of alot more than Derek Fisher and Lamar having bad games.

Jeffries can handle, has the size and can pass the ball. Balkman is a small that can defend bigs very well. that is why the blowuption would occur for them, as in more consistant playing time and such. None of them particuarly fit in the offense, but their skills would be more valuable. I would prefer him play Lee though. I just like that guy. Maybe its the white guy fro.

Lee doesn't finish like Amare. And Marion worked because he could stretch the D, once again. For the offense to work, they can run the pick and roll and need all the other 4 guys to be able to hit the shots. They run the Pick and roll in the middle and if you try to double it at all, that guy is open. When you mess that up (say by bringing in a 7'3" guy that can't run the pick and roll and can't hit a shot outside of the paint) the offense is going to struggle. Its not that I think it won't work with Lee, its just I don't see him blowing up the way some people think it will happen for him. If anyone rises from obscurity on this team it will be Jared Jeffries and Balkman.

NBA Playoffs 2008 - Conference Finals

The problem with this Lakers win is that it hinged on Manu having a horrible game and Toni Parker not hitting his midrange shot. I don't think you can count on both. Duncan how they will have to double him because he will murderlate Gasol(even though Pau is allowed to leap on his back for rebounds). That no call when Duncan got hacked and they knocked the ball out of bounds and gave the Lakers another possession was HUGE. That was one of the single worse calls possible there. Either it had to be out on the lakers for slapping the ball (which they didn't) or a foul for slapping Duncans arm(which they did). No way it couldn't be either. But anyway, Parker hasn't been consistantly missing that shot for a while now, and manu will play better. I personally think all the games will be close, no matter how big teams go up. Last night the Lakers just doubled Duncan and everyone else just missed shots. I don't think that is something you can count on for the series. I do think the Lakers did a wonderful job cloging the lane to keep Parker out though. That was impressive.

Nene and Dalembert are both 7 footers. We all know that if you are 7 feet tall and manage not to trip over your own feet you are going to get a bigger contract. And I think people don't really understand Mike offense. Its not about speed, its about spreading the court and getting wide open shots up fast. His offense worked in Phoenix because there wasn't anyone you could really leave open from the midrange. Unless lee gets a solid jumper, he isn't going to blow up.

Yeah, but if Nate wants more than 3 mil a year, you completely ignore him. Guys like Lee, and the other first rounders, they aren't going to command that much money.

Leandro Barbosa is a great deal for anyone. The production vs money is good. You can argue with Diaw. I think that D'Antoni pretty much loved him more than Amare, and I honestly think that the team was all around better with him as the focal point offensively than Amare (sure amare scores easier, but he also plays abysmal defense. A healthy Kurt Thomas and Boris Diaw was more valuable to me honestly).

What Tim Duccan is about to do to Pau in this seires and what Parker is about to do to Derek Fisher is not going to be pretty. all the teams left int he playoffs are the worse matchups for the Lakers.

Ben Gordon has been complaining since he got there. And that really wouldn't explain the trade for Ben Wallace. I have said it before and will say it again. Its not a mystery why the bulls got so bad. The mystery to me was how they had a good year after trading Eddy Curry. Seroiusly, that was one of the worse built teams I have ever seen. yet they were somehow successful for like 2 years. They had no threat to score near the basket with 4 jumpshooters and a non scorer court. Their bench also consisted of jumpshooters and guys that couldn't score near the basket, yet for two years, they fooled people into thinking they were a good team. Sadly, if they had just traded for Zbo (who could be had for the corpse of Steve Francsis and Channing freakin Frye) then they would have made the playoffs this year.

Um... I THINK that they finished with the 9th worst record, and they only lottery off the top three picks, so once you didn't see Chicago at nine, you knew they had one of those lottery'd picks. That doesn't make any sense. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it doesn't make any sense. Unless you're talking about the idea as a whole not being logical... in which case... meh. It didn't make sense to me because I didn't know just the top 3 were the lottery. I thought there was more to it. That is all. Thanks. Wilbon was all about that on PTI. But it didn't make much sense because even though Hinrich had a horrible year, he isn't that bad. He ain't that good either. Rose looks like he could be better...now.

I mean, dumb coaches will double him, but no coach worth a damn. To get doubled you need to be able to dominate. Which is why guys like Garnett doesn't get doubled, because he isn't dominant. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that guy is in this draft. But Beasley isn't going to be able to back down any PF's in the NBA. He just doesn't have the bulk. He is going to have to face up, take fade aways, and basically out athlete people. And that is the absolute opposite of what the Bulls need.

And what I mean by that is that Drew Gooden is a Kevin Garnett type "post" player. yeah, they have their back turned to the basket when they catch the ball, but they are jump shooter or face up, go by the guy players. Niether are the type of post players that you need in Chicago because neither actually demand a double.
