    Box Office Report...

People pretending that this movie didn't do well are pretty damn ridiculous. The studio was expecting the same opening as WOTW and MI2 when WOTW and MI2 both opened on holidays (one July 4 weekend and the other Memorial Day weekend). If this movie had open later this month it would have done comparible numbers. The reason this movie didn't open with QUITE as much money as expected was because the studio fears the Xmen.

    NBA Playoffs 2006: Conference Semifinals

The bulls wouldn't be a good fit. They would have to give up Gordon, Deng, Chandler, and probably a couple of draft picks for him. That leaves a starting line up of Hirech, Nocioni and Garrnett with alot of trash besides them. I personally don't think that would get them over any hump. Getting KG would just cost them too much. They should just give Al Harrington some money and call it a day. If he plays anything like he did for the Hawks last year on the block, he is a perfect fit. The Lakers just need a real point guard. Phil has got to get over this signing any tall guy and saying play the point. I think you will see Kareem Rush back, keep nurturing Vujacic to be the starting point out there(seriously, he is a better shooter and defender than Smush...why wasn't he playing again?). He should really look into starting Walton at the point but he can't defend anyone at that position. Let Kobe Defend the point, walton the two guard, Odem at the Small, Bynum and Brown up front. I just don't think they need to make that many moves. Add a couple of shooters not named Deven George and call it a day. Plus I would sign Penny Hardaway to the vets minimum just in case he actually has gotten his knee fixed.

    NBA Most Valuable Player

To be honest thats why Gilbert Arenas shouldn't have gotten any votes. His team was barely .500 for christ sake. If Iverson or Gilbert got Votes, Paul Pierce shoulda been on some ballots. Dirk, Chauncy or Nash for MVP with James/Kobe behind them. Playoff Kobe would be the MVP for me honestly. I think the playoffs showed what the Lakers could really be like with Kobe being that ultimate basketball player that he has it in him to be. If that was how he played the whole year, I would say hand it to him. But scoring a bunch of points on a medocrie team shouldn't get you the MVP. The Billups hate is astounding. All I am going to say is that the Pistons wouldn't have ONE championship and would be a fringe playoff team without Billups. That dude gets no love.

Honestly, the Kobe loving is getting just as nausiating. I didn't see the long diatribes after he hit game winning shots or that clutch shot in game 6. No it was fine for the world to sit back and bask in the greatnest that was kobe, "the most cluth player in basketball" i think he was called. NOOOO. Last week when people were saying Kobe should be MVP because he got this sorry group of guys to playoffs, THAT was JUST fine, but if someone dares to question him, it is KObe hating. The guy gets praised...alot. And while I do agree that sometimes the critisizm is dumb (seriously anyone critisizing that 81 point game shouldn't be allowed to watch the game ever again) pretending as though he is only critisized is pretty goddamn ridiculous. Right now, he is catching aHELL of alot less flack than Tracy Mcgrady caught after declaring that Pistons/Magic series over a few years back. The "pull back my jersey and show my chest/I just ripped their hearts out" pose is pretty much the same thing. He gets picked on just as much as any star player does.

I can not explain to you why the media likes Steve Nash (but you can draw your own conclusions due to what I said). He is one of very few that can actually get away with the things that he says. If you watched TNT, you'd know what I'm talking about. This is the same national television crew that boasts about what class Nash exemplifies because he doesn't complain about officiating, even though the MVP exclaimed that the Lakers have gotten the majority of the calls in the series (an item that even a media member covering the Suns admits is not true). What about the fact that he tried to pick a fight with Vujacic? Anyone else would have been crucified over that. I'll try my best to ignore his "up 4-2" comment. Oh come on. He took his lumps on the game 4. He didn't complain about the officiating. The only time he said something was in defense of a teammate. THATS what leaders do. Its no different than Bryant coming to the defense of Vujacic. Oh and the PICKING a fight with Vujacic? Come on. You know full well that Sasha is one of the most annoying, chippy son of a bitches in the league, people covering the Lakers acknowledge this. All I am going to say is that after the foul, Nash walked away, so how exactly was he in the position to push Vujacic's arm off of his? And the 4-2 comment. You are just grasping there. He said we are up 4-2, laughed, and said he still is in denial about them losing game 4. His majority of the calls thing... When you have guys on your team bleeding and no foul being called, Kwame and Walton both committing arguably suspension warrenting fouls, then yeah, you say the majority of things went their way. Thats not even counting on the end of game 4 where even as the biggest laker supporter, you can't possibly say that they had a lot of calls go their way there.

Actually, that head grabbing stuff, that is part of leadership. When they made a good play he was there to congradulate them, when they weren't he was there to tell them what they did wrong and how to fix it. That was Kobe Bryant in game 1-6. Tonight...NONE of that. That is what I am talking about. If Kobe played like this all year (games 1-6) he should have won the MVP hands down. But he didn't so that is why that is out the door to me. But MVP or no, honestly, do you really believe that if the tables were turned that you would have had Nash not taking open shots, not trying to spur on his teammates, not offering words of encouragement? Everytime they showed bryant near the bench he was off sitting there not acknowledging anyone. When players missed a shot, there were plenty of times he just looked at them shaking his head and shrugging his shoulders tonight. It was just pathetic. People have to understand. I LOVE basketball. Even if my team doesn't win, as long as the other team wins the right way, I am happy. I want to see effort out of everyone on the court, who I am routing for and who I am not routing for. Tonight I saw exactly ONE guy on the whole court just quit. Smush was booty offensively tonight, but he was hustling on every defensive play. Kwame was also trash offensively but he was crashing the boards hard and going for the block whenever he was in position. I didn't see anything from Kobe in the second half. Just not effort. I understand likeing the guy, I really do. But what can you point to in the second half of this game and say he was putting forth a effort?

Are you kidding me? He's the last person that should be taking blame. Quit listening to Charles Barkley. You guys want him to be passive. He does it. You guys want him to shoot the ball. He does it. I do not know what the fuck people want from him, as he's clearly shown he's willing to do what it takes. There's a reason Charles Barkley never won anything, even though he had great teammates. You said it King. I get so sick and tired of the Kobe hate... from Dama to Ripper, and everyone in between. Honestly, after a while it gets obnoxious. Part of trusting your teammates involves leaving a certain amount of the winning up to their abilities. If they don't come through, you're going to lose. That's why it's a TEAM sport. The Lakers had plenty of chances to win this series, they didn't do it, and they should be disappointed. But, I am definitely sick of people railing on Kobe. I'm also not going to assess the team based on tonight's result. If LA plays next season the way they played the first half of this series, they can win 60 games. For now, I'll start taking a look at free agency lists. The Suns deserved to win... it was a remarkable comeback and a testament to just how good Steve Nash is. They deserve all the credit in the world. Barbosa is an amazing player... I wish the Lakers had him. Congrats to Suns fans. Screw that Kobe hate crap. I haven't said one thing to suggest Kobe hate in this thread. I have talked about how great he played in the series. But the other night you guys were talking about how the lakers were playing 5 on four because Smush Parker was playing like crap. HOW in the hell was tonight different with Kobe. I don't know what game you guys were watching, but once the lead hit 20 points, you watched Kobe Bryant quit. He quit offensively, defensively, all around. The Leader that he has been the entire series? Out the window. He passed on WIDE OPEN FUCKING SHOTS for christ sake. On at least 4 plays I watched him stand about 5 feet behind the 3 point line. They were LITERALLY playing 5 on 4. I do agree they would be a top 5 seed if they play like they played in this series, but Mr. I can score on him anytime I want to KNOWs full well what his role in this playoff offense was. The team was struggling, force double teams so that you teammates can get open. Instead he took himself out of the equation all together. Charles Barkley has been going at the guy no matter what in this series, but I am not going to be the one cosigning on that. TONIGHT, and ONLY TONIGHT, was a dissappointing and pathetic display of basketball out of Kobe.

I could give a shit about what Charles said, but I didn't hear it because I turned when the buzzer went off. I could give a shit what people said about game 6 and him shooting so much. Every other player on the court for the Lakers at least put forth a effort in the second half. He might as well stayed in the locker room. Call the rest of the team what ever, when Luke Walton is more aggresive offensively than you, you are not playing.

I am just not a fan of crack music, but I still like TI. His Gangsta Grillz CD was one of my alltime favorite mixtapes of all time. ... dejavu

Those are some good sandwiches. Way to go Suns. Nothing else really to say. Although, I don't see how people can be a Kobe fan after tonight. Tonight he made sure that all the blame goes on his teammates instead of himself. The suns were doing a great job doubling him and all, but seriously, get your ass on the block and play some basketball. Suns Clippers is interesting. Suns own all three backcourt positions on offense, and Cassell is a mixmatch for Nash defensively with his size. Kaman/Brand are beast up front for the Clips on offense, but they are going to have to come out the lane to cover the suns "bigs" and Diaw can absolutely own Kaman or Brand off the dribble defensively. Should be a hell of the series. But you know who I am picking.

I think all predictions are out the window now. Nash played moster minutes last night and thats going to hurt him. Raja Bell....Raja Bell. On one hand he gave the SUns some toughness...on the other, he almost lost them the game, not because he wasn't playing, but because they called the game SO tight that almost everyone fouled out. I hope he has a hell of a game saturday though. I can't remember the last time I can remember a player just blatantly saying he didn't like another player in the media. Either Kobe is going to get alot of fouls or Raja is going to get alot. Either way, the refs aren't going to let them get physcial with each other....in other words Raja will be in foul trouble. I haven't wavered in my thoughts that the suns were going to win this series even when they were down 3-1 and I still stand by it. And people....I am telling you. They figured out the Lakers in the second half of game 4. Phil is the no adjustment guy now. ANd to the people saying Kobe kept them in it...Yeah...kinda, but as I said, MAKING long jumpshots against the suns plays into their offense just as much as missing them. Kobe scored 50, but he should have scored 60 by just working it deeper against the smaller barbosa, or blowing past marion. That also would have forced a deeper trap and opened up the shooters more. Kobe on the perimeter allowed the suns to rotate, which got them a few Charges because of it. Raja not being there did exactly what I figured it would do. No matter who wins it all though, this has been a hell of a series and I think the NBA has a new rivalry of their hands. Oh and Barbosa getting his lip busted by a Kobe elbow....Raja was right.

    Bios Mods

Please. I would never fuck with a intel. I am running a Opteron 165 dual core and want to push it at least to the speeds of a FX-60. Believe it or not, thats a pretty moderate overclock on one of these things. I can get stable at 2.45 Ghz on air right now, but my voltage is too low to go any higher. I am still at 1.3 volts and it won't move.

How about during the 1994 semifinals when Phil Jackson had JoJo English start a fight with Derek Harper. If the Knicks had won the NBA Championship that year, Harper would have been the Finals MVP. Which is why I will never respect Phil Jackson. That disgusted me. Derek Harper was killing the bulls then all of a sudden this 12th man comes off the bench and punches him in the face. And if I see Von Wafer in the game for no reason tonight, I know Nash had better look out.

They did a great job rotating during the last game after bell was gone. AND people....Kobe being able to score alot plays into the Suns hands. The only way the Lakers win is if they stick to the game plan. But its going to be tough when Kobe sees Barbosa or Jones covering him. I am sure Phil will know this though. I am still picking the suns. And just for the record, I remember in game 2 Kobe got pissed at the end of the quarter and threw his hands back hitting bell in the face. Then in the next quarter threw his hands back complaining about a play and hit bell in the eye, dropping him. Then there were at least 2 elbows in last nights game. Add on the fact that the guys already don't like each other. Bad recipie. That said, what Raja did was incredibly stupid. He should have been suspended. But the league isn't being consistant which is fucked up. But to whoever said Walton avoided the head...he grabbed him by his head. How is that avoiding the head. And what really trips me out is that people keep saying Kwames wasn't that bad because Boris Diaw pretty much blocked a elbow to his face. Lets not pretend Kwame was trying to get his arm free. you PULL a arm free. He threw the elbow, Diaw blocked then flopped to bring more attention to it. I am still picking the suns to win this series. Eddie House is going to have to step it up for them, as he takes Barbosas bench minutes for this game. As I said after game 4, the Suns figured it out in the second half of that game. Now its the lakers turn to adjust, which I think they will do. I expect a hell of a game and look forward to Bell/Bryant in game 7.

Since he NBA has suddenly stop suspending people, with walton grabbing Tim Thomas by the head in game 3, Kwames elbow, Rip Hamiltons elbow, Evan's nut grab, then this should be called a flagrant two and be done with it. But seeing who it was, he will get suspended. For the record, I think all of the above, including bell should be suspended if they suspended Posey and Artest. But since they didn't they need to remain consistant. Any way, great win by the Suns, extremely dumb move by Raja may have just cost them the series.
