Its halftime. There is nothing else to talk about except Ernies neck and Charles pulling a Kobe on the English language.

And not to derail the thread, but can someone who thinks Kobe is innocent PLEASE tell me why he would say when the cops brought him in AND after the case was dissmissed that HE UNDERSTANDS WHY SHE WOULD THINK THAT THE SEX WASN"T CONSENTUAL BUT IT INDEED WAS. I don't think I can start to explain how cocky of a statement that is. Sex is consentual because he said it was. Even if she thought otherwise. I will never know for sure, but I still think his ego allowed him to commit rape and be too cocky to even realize it.

By the way, just like with Kobe, I HOPE this isn't true. Kwame was always a pretty good kid here in atlanta and in Washington. I hope this isn't true. If it is, I hope he has the best body on the prison yard.

Until Kobe admitted he raped her. Understanding if the girl thinks it was consentual sex is admittance of guilt to me. And my last comment about game 4...or what ever. I think that NBA refs are very interested in having EXCITING games. I don't think they are saying "Lets go Lakers" but alot of times, I think they make calls or no calls so that the game can either go on longer or be more exciting. The thing about game 4, for get Waltons foot, forget that. Two plays earlier, the ball was inbounded to Nash in the middle of the floor. Two lakers come over to foul him and stop the clock. They keep fouling him and no call is made. Nash makes the biggest mistake of the night (yeah, bigger than the Smush turnover in my eyes) and passes the ball while complaining to the ref. Boris Diaw gets TOUCHED and they call the foul. Borism, the worst free throw shooter on the court gets one of two. I personally think theywere avoiding sending Nash to the line in hopes of making the game longer. Personally when you are up 5 and you are shooting 90 percent from the freethrown line for the series, just foul them, don't let them hit a three and free throw shoot them to death instead of giving Smush that 3. But like it has been said. That game isn't going to change, and its over. But I do think that the refs are interested in a great play as much as the next guy and the more chances for a game winner is much more exciting than a free throw competition.

Yes, more money would pe put in. But the cost of doing so would be offsetting. Seriously, if you charge 2-3 companies that depend on immigrant labor a few more percent in taxes, then you offset any cost the immigrants are having on the tax system, and you still reap the benifits of the immigrant spending including sales tax, food, housing, clothing, and entertainment. Plus if you legalize them, they are entitled to all public benifits which will cost even more money. If you view this as outsourcing with a bonus, you got a winning stragedy.

Actually, watch the game after halftime yesterday and something finally clicked. The Lakers won, true, but it happens. And while i haven't been THAT thrilled with D'Antoni's gameplan, all of the games have been incredibly close. Phil didn't change anything after game one because his gameplan worked. ANd honestly, D'Antoni's game plan worked yesterday...they just....came up...short...(gets angry). Same way Rick Adelman didn't adjust his gameplan after game two even though they lost. Close games mean you got it right(according to most coaches). Getting your ass kicked means you need to change game plan. Personally I think he ought to just go at Kwame and Odems chest and get them out the game. They are far more dangerous than Kobe in this series. Yes...I am serious.

Yeah, ankle sprains can be something. Remeber that Tyson is a 7 foot 200 something lb guy that landed all of his body weight on the side of his foot. That is fucking hell. I dislocated my ankle and it didn't hurt as bad as a couple of the sprains I have had. Each injury is different. And yes I am still pissed about Sunday. I will only say that I still believe the Suns will win the series. (seriously). And the suspensions will probably keep flying today. Evans and Rip Hamilton should be suspended for what they did the other night. Hamilton elbow to the head of Redd and Evans pulling a Sin City on Chris Kaman.

Even still Kobe did hit two high pressure shots inside of a second left on the clock in regulation & OT AND the Suns choked up a 5 point lead inside of 10 seconds. Nash got facialed by a Smush three and then fell to the ground when Smush ripped him. If he would have just stood still Parker would have fouled him, but he tried to make a move and fumbled the ball. Phoenix deserved the victory, but they made some bad, bad plays in addition to getting bent over and taking it anally with no lube by the refs. But see the thing is, those are basketball plays. Shit happens. People make turnovers. People get shots made in their face. That happens. what shouldn't happen is ignoring time outs being called and intentional fouls. That is extremely ridiculous. Hell, not calling a arm tug on a lob is understandable. I don't like it, but he. THAT happens. But seriously. I have been watching basketball for over 20 years now. Now maybe it happened in those early years when I didn't understand everything, but I have NEVER...in my history of ever watching basketball watched the refs NO CALL a intentional foul by multiple players. EVER. That is just plain disgusting. ANd reading some recaps of the game, you guys are right its all about how great Kobe was.

That was one of the biggest crocks of shit I have ever seen. Vujac fouled him ON PURPOSE to stop the goddamn clock. THEN Lamar Odem fouled him ON PURPOSE to stop the goddamn clock. ADD on top of that Nash called a timeout before the trap even got there. All this 3 feet away from the refs and they call a goddman jump ball. Bullshit.

THere is no way you are comparing the contact that happens on every play in the NBA to holding the guy by the arm as he is going for a lob. No way. Not after the refs made such a stink about how they were going to call the game the same way at the end of a game as they do during the game after that Indiana/Nets game. No way you are comparing the two.

EVEN? Luke held the guy back so he couldn't complete the lob. You are comparing that to a post shot kinda bump? The Nash strip was definately clean though.

Oh stop it. This game is being called tight on both ends because of the physical nature of the last game. Barbosa, Marion, and Bell all have 2-3 fouls a piece on really ticky tacky stuff. its being called like games 1-2 were called.

No, Kobe started doing his Kobe thing and the suns got right back in the game because of it. If you hit a long shot on the suns, the perimeter players can get out and they run a kinda fast break on the inbounds. Pound it inside, it slows them down. Phil basically told Kobe to stop it and go inside. He is doing a great coaching job here. And lets cut the crap. The people saying the Lakers had a chance were saying because Kobe was going to drop like 50 a game and keep the Lakers in it. Don't start trying to turn it around and say "Yeah, I knew Kobe would take a backseat and let his teammates do their thing." Same way I expected Kobe to drop like 50 a game and get the Lakers swept. New game plan trashed my prediction, but seriously...lets not pretend this is why ANYONE thought the Lakers would be doing so well in this series.

He didn't throw a elbow as they pointed out when they watched the replay. He shoved him when Kwame was holding his arm to stop him from getting on the fast break. Jesus dude, the replayed it twice with both announcers saying it wasn't a elbow.

Whoa now. Posey should be suspended. He lined up with the guy with the entire purpose to take him out. That is beyond the limits. I didn't agree with Artest, and honestly, I would call Kwame's that bad, but to be consistant, they should have the same consequences.

    TSM 2006 NBA Playoffs thread

I somewhat agree here. The problem is they aren't getting blown out which is what it takes for alot of coaches to change their game plan. Otherwise it is seen as the players didn't execute. They want to bang? Then give them some Pat Burke and Brian Grant. When they sit a big, bring in a James Jones or another speedster. And for the love of god create cross matchups. The Lakers aren't going to run the ball. Their gameplan is to slow it down. So if Marion is being guarded by Lamar Odem, put Boris Diaw on Odem on the defensive end. If Kwame is guarding Tim Thomas, then put him on...someone. Cross matchups favor a team that runs the break and that is how the suns can exploit the Lakers unwillingness to play a uptempo game. And honestly, PLAY KOBE ONE ON ONE. Everyone keeps talking about the NEW gameplan the Lakers are playing, the suns are doubling when he touches the ball and allowing the other players to beat them. Stay at home. Let Kobe shoot his 40 shots.

Its the second arm that makes the difference. He made a play on the ball and then took his off hand and grabbed him by his neck and pulled. Thats a flagrant two. And honestly, I felt Brendans was flagrant worthy.

They weren't arguing the foul. They were saying Bell shouldn't have stripped the ball from him while he was on continuation. basically they were saying he should have hear the whistle, stopped and watched Kobe score. BAD call. But good win for the Lakers. I still can't muster a slight bit of worry about this series though. I still have no doubt the suns will win. The Lakers changed the gameplan I pretty much figured they would have and it makes a good matchup instead of blow out wins for the Suns. Kwame Browns status for sunday should be interesting....as should Luke Walton's as his passing has been critical to the Lakers in the first 3 games. He SHOULD be suspended, but I get this funny feeling he won't. Tim Thomas's Status is going to be big too, although not in the way alot of people will think. Brian Grant will have to play more minutes and simply matches up well with Kwame, and is a physical guy on the boards. The Suns just need to create some cross matchups, single cover bryant and play like they played in the regular season.

okay. I am always safe when it comes to complaining about calls when I am so biased towards one team.
