If Marion is out all year, the Suns wouldn't be where they are. Dude... 22 points, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 13 rebounds.....Nash is partly responsible for the 22 points. I think Shawn should definately be in the running for defensive player of the year also.
-
Kurt Thomas being out for the year is a blessing in disguise. Amare can hit the midrange shot just like Kurt and can run the pick and roll the way the Suns were running it with Kurt so it won't be too much of a change. Boris Diaw and Amare running a 4/5 screen and roll is going to be gourgeous. And while I don't think that Marion is the MVP, I think he is definately top five. Nash, Billups, Tony Parker, Marion and who else you want to add honestly. people are really discounting what Jason Terry, Jerry Stackhouse and Josh Howard have done for Dallas in helping them so I think the Nowinski for MVP push is a little far fetched. He stopped having to be THE guy and became A guy and thats why they are a better team. Tim Duncan has been playing at half speed all year, its really been a team effort, though Parker has been amazing. Lebron James and Kobe...whatever honestly. Their teams aren't good enough.
-
Um, Marion put up 18 points and 11 rebounds in basically 3 quarters last night. If he played the rest of the game, he would have been right on that 30-15 pace he has been on with. I'm sorry but that makes as much sense as taking the MVP away from Billups because Kobe played better against the Pistons. The Suns played 9 players last night with TWO of them being hurt (James Jones and Tstilisvili) enough that they probably wouldn't have played on most nights. Then one of the other guys was a 10-day contract guy. The Spurs shot incredibly well and phoneix couldn't get open for the 3. Thats all. And I am going to start my own little count now. Games in which Lebron James completely took over down the stretch to win the game and everyone ignores. Lets just put the count at 1 from the other night in Toronto when he carried the team in the 4th for a 1 point win.

I for one can say that no movie trailer for a movie that sucked has ever fooled me. I even read through the Freedomland trailer.

I would like to try to go one on one with a NBA-er. I know from personal experience that I can score on them, but I don't think I could stop anyone. Fun Fact: Ripper was up 6-3 in a game of 12 with Dominique Wilkins until Dominique decided to stop bullshitting and backed me down and won the game 12-6. Okay, so he was retired for like 4 years when I played him...fuck yall. That was Nique.

You mean the fiasco that got Ice all those millions? The only talented white rapper to not get shown love is Bubba Sparxx.

See I thought that the Madea scenes in the first one were pretty well balanced (well, not in the start) in the first one. The rest of the movie were so dramatic (asshole husband, drug addicted wife) that her scenes were needed to bring levity to it. I do feel that the movie should have had more Steve Harris though. I haven't seen the second one yet.

Oh shut the fuck up. The first movie made a truckload of cash because the plays made a truckload of cash. They are movies with good messages basically. I personally don't care for them, but a HELL of alot of people do like them and there is a reason to. I always find it ironic when people call others idiots because they don't understand anything. Last time I checked, that makes you the idiot.

Hey now. Nina luanching the computer virus was not filler. Goddamn what a episode(s). Silent countdown made me pretty much forget everything that happened before. That dude with Kim. Is it just me or does he look like C. Thomas Howell.

Suns lose Nash to a sprain ankle tonight. Not good. Not good. I still think that with Diaw running the offense and recent signings, they should be okay.

Stop hating on Tyler Perry.

I can't believe that I am walking in a world that Three Six Mafia has a Oscar.....dear god. Anyway, I was pissed about this year because History of Violence didn't get any love and that was just a beautiful film. I am happy Crash won though.

I was going to give it a chance because of Kurt Wimmer pulling off Equilibrium so well, but I had a bad feeling about this from the start. It appears that I was right.

Win or lose, the Phoenix bench has me more and more confidence about our chances to win it all this year. It will be tough, but goddamn. They are SO much deeper than last year. Tim Thomas, James Jones, Eddie House, Barbosa(a more confident one at least) are such a upgrade over...well...Jim Jackson.
-
The Suns get 20 points in 20 minutes out of Tim Thomas in his debut. Good...GOOOD.

I can't even believe that this conversation is even still going on. Lebron has in the past and will in the future come up big in clutch situations. Both games agaisnt phoenix this year are examples of this. He will make great plays and he will make bad ones. Just like every other player in the league. The guy isn't overrated because of 2 or 3 bad games, which is what you are basing all this on. You can't deny 31 7 7. You can't. A bad string of games doesn't make him some normal player. And lets pretend that this is real life basketball for a second. Carmelo Anthony and Dwayne Wade have something that Lebron doesn't have. Teammates that people will stay at home on. Carmelo taking a contested shot from one guy isn't the same as James having 2-3 guys on him. There is a big difference between being the only viable offensive option and being one of many options. He is THE guy. He is the only guy. They send everything at him. The guy made a play that led to them winning the game. Yet you are critisizing him for that. Then you are glossing over the fact that the other people you are mentioning have just as many bad games as he does...more actually. But they are above critisism? Is Lebron held to a higher standard for some reason? No one is saying that you can't call the guy on something, but you are only calling one guy on something that ALL your examples do. Plus you are lobbying for him to be, from your description, a pretty bad player (with the ignoring wide open teammates to take heavyly contested bad shots so he can be Mr. Hero) I am just not understanding your logic that to be a great player Lebron has to play like a bad one.

What people don't mention is that Andre Miller takes most of Denvers big shots, and when he gives it up, its because Andres fucking Millers set them up. And two, you CAN"T double team Dwayne Wade, the same way you couldn't double team Kobe when Shaq is on the floor. If you are doubling the man with the ball, you are going to be out of position to double Shaq. Who exactly does anyone fear on the Cavs court. He gets doubled and tripled. Until someone makes people pay for doing that, then they are going to be able to slow down Lebron from scoring in the big game moments. Mark Cuban did this thing where he had people study the NBA and saw that players hit close to 65% of uncontested jumpshots. Something to do with trying to stress gettig your hands up to your team. WIDE OPEN players in the NBA seldom miss if they are a good shooter. You don't hope the refs make a call in the final seconds of a game over a wide open shot. That is just ridiculous. And once again, you are only pointing out positives for other players and negatives for lebron. Why is it when Wade has only 14 against the same Chicago team and looked like trash the entire game, not just the 4th, its was okay. Or when he was simply looking lost against Dallas the other week when he scored 16 and almost none in the second half. Or when Carmelo has dropped his 11-12 point games this year. He wasn't exactly 2nd half hero then. At the same time, you don't bring up Lebron bringing the Cavs back from 17 down against the Suns...TWICE. He was carrying the team on his back in the 2nd half LAST WEEK, he has a couple of tough games and now something is wrong with his game and he is overrated?

Game on the line...Tim Duncan kicks the ball to Avery Johnson to hit a jumper and win the game when he was triple teamed by the Knicks. Game on the line, Jordan kicks the ball to Steve Kerr for the jumper when he was doubled by the Jazz. Game on the line, Jordan kicks the ball to Scottie Pippen (who was then doubled and kicked the ball to Horace Grant who had a better shot, who then kicked it to John Paxon) for the game winner against the Suns. Game on the line, Lakers down one and they inbound the ball to Derek Fisher. Not Kobe, not Shaq, but Derek Fisher who hit the shot to beat the Spurs. The difference between being a superstar and being a all time great player isthe ability to realize that your greatness sets up teammates. Are you actually arguing that Flip Murray's jump shot was a worse shot than anything Lebron could have come up with? It was the BEST PLAY. Look at ALL of Carmelos or Dwayne Wades winners. Notice something? They are wide the fuck open. They took the best shot. That is what basketball is. This isn't a video game where you see who has the best rating and say he will shoot no matter what. Flip Murray should hit a wide open 3. Guys should hit wide open 20 footers. This is the NBA. Anyone that would ignore wide open teammates to take contested difficult shots is never going to amount to anything in the league. Kobe is the only guy that MAY do it, but do we really want to start counting how many last second fuck ups Kobe has. Its always easy to see the game winners, but you have to notice the misses too.

"King James" was the only player on the court for the Cavs the final 30 of last year. He was putting up huge numbers in the first and second half, but of course that is forgotten now. I think alot of Lebrons problem now is pacing. If you watch Kobe Bryant and Tracy Mcgrady and those guys play, they often take the 2nd quarter off. If the team is up big, they will defer more to pace themselves. Lebron comes out like a beast, going after every rebound, every loose ball, leaping out the gym on every layup and jumpshot. He looks a little blown by the fourth honestly. And like Slim said, there is more to being cluth than taking the final shot. If you take the final shot and you are double or triple covered, you are not being clutch if you make the shot or not, you are being a fucking idiot. Part of being clutch is making the right pass at the right time. Lebron will be fine. I think people are making alot of noise about nothing. For every big shot you saw jordan hit there were another 3-4 that he missed.

You know, Nash is never on the floor with Eddie House. Honestly, I think Mike D'Antoni's coaching style of "shoot it when ever the fuck you feel like it" helps alot of the guys have career years. Boris Diaw is finally being able to be used to his full ability, and basically is being Mr. Point guard at the Center position. His numbers are also the result of the SUns offense. Not to down play Nashs role in making the offense go, hell I still think he might be MVP, but Mike Dantoni isn't given enough credit. Nash wasn't exactly MVP caliber in Dallas. I do think the MVP is a two player race between Nash and Billups. No one else should even be mentioned, except MAYBE Toni Parker every now and then. But seriously, Billups/Nash is the battle here. By the way, anyone notice that Marion has been averaging aroubd 30 points and 15 rebounds for like the last two weeks.

I mentioned my thoughts on this a little bit in the other thread, but it's not really a snub. There was obviously a feeling from Colangelo and the selection committee that Iverson didn't really offer what they needed for whatever reason (be it age, durability, attitude or whatever). He had his chance in 2004. I am sorry, but that is a load of crap. they are offering Carmelo fucking Anthony a spot so the A: Attitude and B: Chance in 2004 is out the window. He was one of the guys you couldn't question if he left on the court or not during the 2004 games. Out of the top 8 american scorers in the league, Iverson is the only one not being asked to play. He is the only american allstar not being asked to play. there is just some bullshit to that. There is no way you offer Chris Paul a spot befor you offer Iverson. And honestly, I would question Bruce "I actually foul people for the entire game and would foul out in 2 minutes of international play" Bowen being invited.
-
I would like to mention that it is FUCKED up that they are snubbing Iverson from the Olympic team. FUCKED up.
-
I personally think they have done the "Mike is dirty" thing in season two (or close enough) and that ship has sailed. I think that there isn't really any big time tension between Audrey and Jack now and assuming that Hendersen was telling the truth about the stuff being made for the DOD, then I am assuming that Audreys dad, the secretary of Defense, is your other government guy. I did see him on another show one day so I don't know if he is even available, but if he is, then he is your guy.
-
I have never saw the 5 minute piece and I knew that he missed the first two shots and went 7-13. I wasn't there. Thus, the had to have said it.

Yeah..they did.
