It's true, it's true, even though the scores did reach in the 100+ nearly every game the Spurs did make an effort to shutdown selective players. Shawn Marion who was a big offensive threat in the Dallas series was held down to single digits in several games and in game 3 the MVP Steve Nash was held down to single digit assists. Who on the Suns team played defense other than Amare? I believe that the Spurs lead in Rebounds, Steals, Blocks the entire series. The steals usually lead to fastbreak oppertunities for the Spurs guards who would score majority of the time with layups. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. Its not true. The stats were ridiculously even. The suns actually won the blocks, and the Spurs had 10 more steals(basically 2 a game) The Spurs, like I said, owned the offensive boards and second chance points, which is why they were able to win even though they were shooting a lower field goal and freethrow percentage in most of the games. Seriously, it was a really close series, with no team dominating the other Defensively. The Spurs were just able to get something from their bench (Horry and Barry played great in this series) and all 5 starters while the suns got no more than 3 people on a night. The spurs depth and experience is what beat the suns, not their defense, because it simply wasn't there. And Shawn marion was averaging double digets in rebounds, over a block a game and over 2 steals a game. he was playing some damn fine defense.

I think his problems with passing out is the fact that he honestly feels that anytime he gets the ball on the block he can score. He is often times not wrong either. But yeah, the guy is 22 years old and that is easy to forget when watching him play.

You forgot to mention what if Shawn Marion and Quentin Richardson hadn't missed the entire series.... Oh wait they did play, could have fooled me <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Basketball is more than points, and Marion played well defensively, and on the boards. The pick and roll with Stoudimire and Nash was working so well, they didn't run any plays for Marion (he was only taking 9 shots a game as compared to his usual 19 shots a game). Q didn't show up to the playoffs or the last month of the season for that matter. I guess he was so used to the games not mattering anymore around about this time. Well, my team had a good year and have nothing to hang their head about. I am still annoyed by the "great defensive team San Antonio vs the NO D suns" when the suns shot a better percentage, scored more points in the paint, and the turnovers and score were pretty much even for the whole series. The difference in this series was second chance points, as San Antonio DESTROYED the suns in that area because of all of their offensive rebounds. But the Suns only have 2 rebounders(amare and Marion) while the Spurs had Duncan, Mohammad, Horry, Manu, and pretty much anyone else getting to the offensive boards for them(which no doubt was something stress by popovich) I did enjoy the series though. Amare owned the Spurs frount line, Manu owned the Suns backcourt and I am only left to have a bunch of what ifs for if Joe Johnson hadn't fell on his face against Dallas. But like i said, good year, they lost to the deeper, more complete team. Hopefully next year we get more than 6 deep and can get over the hump.

Oh...shit...Forgot to finish the story. Well, basically the guy is making a scene, his half naked girl (who is all of 5'1" and 105lbs) was "holding him back" as he is shouting at me, and I, like I always do, just do my "You got to be fucking kidding me" smile. I then point out that all those dudes over there had something to say about your girl and you didn't say a word, I didn't say a word to you or her and now you want to fight. This prompted 6'6" 300lb guy to say "I am thinking everything you said to him you saying to me in your head. Did you just call me a bitch?" which made all his friends laugh, cause you know...that was kinda funny. Dude says he don't have no problems with them, its just that muthafucka(points at me and "struggles" to get past his tiny, yet really hot girlfriend). He basically says fuck this and I had better not let him see me anywhere else and leaves. His girl kinda stands there as he rushes out, she apologizes to me, football players try to get her to stay, she smiles and says she can't and goes trotting out behind bitch boy, who left his ID(which you leave to reserve a table) behind the bar and his tab open, so we all had drinks on him and reminisced on how his girlfriends top pushed her boobs up to her throat.

They beat up an a physical, defensive minded team in Memphis, beat up on the Mavs, and like to admit it or not, they are being JUST as physical with San Antonio as San Antonio is being with them. People keep screaming about this great San Antonio D, but ITS NOT THERE. They haven't done shit defensively that the suns haven't. Ginobli Parker scoring at will? So is Nash and Amare. every game there has been one more guy to chip in a few. The spurs are DEEPER. That is all it is to it. The suns play 6 players, the spurs play 8-9. They STILL aren't blowing the suns out due to their stiffling D be cause they aren't blowing the suns out. The suns are shooting over 52 percent in 3 of the games and had a off game 3. No correction...they had a off half in game two as they outscored the Spurs in the second half. All the announcers keep pointing at the 10 points by the suns in the 2nd quarter of game 3, alot of which were missed jumpers. They ignore that San Antonio only scored 18 in that quarter. 28 freaking points were scored in the quarter. both teams either played great D or they both just sucked that quarter. And seriously, iggy. You name a bunch of teams that the suns outright bitch during the regular season as being better than the suns. Then why can't they beat the suns. The Mavs lost because a better team lined up against them. And the mavs were play 10 guys consistantly to the 5 the suns put out there. Its obvious who had the more talented squad. The Nuggets were almost unstoppable under Karl, but the Suns stopped them EVERYTIME they played under Karl, and I don't recall the games being close. Once again, from 1-5 the suns are a more talented team(yes, I would take Marion over Carmello). Seattle? Minnesota? They were manhandled by the team you are saying was better than them. The Spurs are the only ones that have the claim to being better, and i still think it is pretty even. Noone on the Spurs can stop the Suns top offensive threats and noone on the Suns can stop the Spurs top offensive threats. Geez. The suns have shot a better percentage and been outscored by 13 points in the series. That doesn't scream "great D by the spurs none by the suns". Its either the suns are playing good D(and we know thats not happening) or the Spurs are doing just as shitty a job as the Suns(the TRUTH). The Spurs have more weapons, and more mismatches, though I maintain that Joe Johnson not being there for the first couple of games made a HUGE difference as you could see his impact last night. you can't look at it in any other way besides the fact that 5 suns players were battling 9 Spurs players for 2 games, and were RIGHT THERE in the end. How this team is "soft" is beyond me. The spurs are out quicking the suns, not out bruising them.

I give a QUICK GLANCE and go back to playing pool, shaking my head a little and giggle a bit when this one guy started doing that Chapplle's Show bit about the girl in the whore's uniform. So all of a sudden I hear. "You got somethin to say muthafucka? What the fuck you lookin at my girl for???" So I turn around expecting to see dude maning the fuck up taking on some football dude, and this BITCH is standing behind ME. Basically, he was too afraid to do anything to all the football players but saw me, the small dude inthere, and decided to be the MAN. Bitch shit like that is annoying to me, because like I said, this is the 4th time dudes are afraid to fuck with who is actually the problem and come running over to me.
