Maybe I should clarify on why the newspaper must suck. If they hire people to write that use unsubstantiated opinions that are easily proven wrong, yet they stand by their "facts" then they are indeed hiring bad writers thus making it a logical conclusion that the paper probably sucks.

One of the central issues was the regulations governing Department of Homeland Security employees. Cleland was firmly on the side of the unions. Chambliss, like most of the GOP, was on the President's side. That's mainly why Cleland lost. Again, I'm not trying to make claims about whether Chambliss was right or Cleland was wrong, but hypothetically, couldn't one argue that waiting for (allegedly unlikely and militarily insignificant) multilateral support in the face of a gathering threat is also detrimental to our nation's interests? I think it's an honest argument, and if you want to call someone "unpatriotic" for taking the opposite view, it's a defendable charge. It's not necessarily a smear campaign. Insinuating that someone supports Hitler, on the other hand, is clearly "dirty politics." Of course, saying that your Pro-choice candidate is "anti-family" while Chambliss isn't is smear campain. The Republican party took Georgia through the biggest joint smear campain I have ever seen to the point other republicans called it shameful. And now with all of them doing a shitty job, and the exact same redneck vote hating them for not getting flag-o-hate back up, they will be out in the next election.

It wasn't bad voter turnout that cost him the spot, it was the angry redneck vote (and some of the republicans actually said they were going for the "redneck" vote so its not TOTALLY my words) Chambliss, Sonny Perdue and alot of the GA polititions won in some of the most ridiculous campains I ever saw. Sonny Perdue won because he pushed that the former governer(who was doing a GREAT job) changed the flag without a vote. Chambliss won, although he NEVER said what his stance was on any other issues besides homeland security in the race. NONE of them. Cleland had been doing a great job for Georgia, but lost due to that and Chambliss suggesting that he supported Roy Barnes decision on the flag. Cleland should have won not because he was a vet, but because he had been doing a good job and gave good reason why he voted against the homeland security act in its then incarnation. The Chambliss campaign was pure mudslinging, calling him un-American, and never stood on any issues. Plain stupidity got this guy into his position and that is all. If there is one place that Republicans should hang their heads over how they won a state, it is Georgia. There shouldn't be any pride taken away from this.

Rippers Rundown: 1. Another "Fuck Wesley" episode. He SO better get a solo ep. This could be because of him and ALy planning the wedding and all but dammitt, they need to show Wes some love. 2. Compare the first scene(full of finger pointing, and arguing and them noticing how this is pulling the group apart) to the final happy scene(the old crew back together, joking and laughing, and the very symbolic Fred ordering from the same old Chinese place as they did in the Hyperion). This had alot more meaning than shiney happy people. There were a few references to "family" in the ep, and this show ended by trying to recapture the family feel that this crew now has. I for one enjoyed it. 3. No Harmony makes me cry. 4. Nina'a trasformation looks a hell of alot better than anything they ever did for OZ. And the morning after in the kitchen when she started to get the senses, wonderfully shot and directed (and officially the one of the first jumps this show has gotten out of me with the little girls throat slashing) 5. Goddamn Fred is skinny. 6. I like how they used Marsters this week. Wasn't too Spike heavy...just the right amount. 7. Fred calling Spike on his bullshit Wes story...GOLD~!. The music made it hilarious! 8. Angel rubbing his forehead when the girl asked him if he was some kind of Frankenstien...MORE GOLD~! 9. Was hoping that the doctor would be around more. I recognized him as the guy from "Out of Time"(the best part of the movie aside from Lathan's ass) and really liked him. But alas. 10. Good to see Gunn get violent again. If you want to be entertained, you'd watch an RVD-Lynn match over say an Angle-Lesnar match...if you wanted to actually watch good wrestling(of the pure kind), then you'd go for the Angle-Lesnar. Say what you will about spot wrestling...if they get the spots right, the crowd will lap it up, and that's what they're there for...to pop the crowd. What I do find pathetic is those that can't read the psychology that a spot-centric match has as compared to a met based match. Once again, people sitting around waiting for reasons to say a match sucked instead of enjoying the match.
