Ah, my boycott of ESPN hit at just the right time, apparently. Did anybody blame Rush for the Kobe trial? -=Mike If the mom had said "Because Kobe can't keep his dick to himself sweetie." I would watch ESPN 24 hours a day.

OReilly: Media shouldn't support candidates

Really. I thought he was talking about Franken the whole time. -
Your brother's soul is mine! YOU will be next! Oh, sorry. You know, I am distraught that noone has stepped up to take the "generic Asian villain" mantle from Hirouki-Tagawa... Am I incorrect in assuming that he knows absolutlely not one bit of anything resembling a martial art yet is cast in all these martial arts movies.

The reason they both are relevant(or not) is that they both had the POTENTIAL to win the game for thier respective teams. Giving a team a first down PAST midfield is a BIG bad call. If the Bucs had gotten 4 more yards, they would have been in range for a 52-53 yard FG attempt. They didn't get there BUT that doesn't invalidate the fact that they were given this chance on a BAD call. The biggest thing about this bad call is that it WASN'T a running into the kicker at all. It was a bad call. The leaping penalty was actually right...verbatim to the rule book. Was it a cheap ass call? Yes...but at least it was right. The Colts were 4 yards from losing due to a bad call and the Bucs were a couple of inches from getting the ball back despite a bad call. How one call is irrelevant just because it didn't work out for the Bucs is beyond me.

What I don't get is why is it that when this subject comes up, do people pretend the ability of Donavan McNabb is relevant. NO ONE is taking Rush to task over his opinion on McNabb. He has a valid opinion about him being overrated. But when you have made racist comments in the past, are a precieved racist and then get on television and say that Donavan is getting a free ride because he is black, you EARNED every bit of backlash for making a stupid statement that can't realistically be argued. Not when there are black QB's putting up better numbers. Not when there are black QB's putting up decent numbers that don't get press. Not when there are white QBs that recieved the SAME hype when their team was presented with similar success's or in guys like Jake Plummers or Patrick Ramsey's case, without anything resembling that success. Where was the media coddling Shawn King when he was taking out the line-up. Where is all the Kordell love. What about all that love that Jeff Blake gets. I can't turn on the TV without Aaron Brooks getting a story. Seriously where is the basis for his claims. And I swear to god if someone trys to go back to 1988 for your example.... Every single fact about the game today goes directly against what he said. His opinon was not formed due to actually looking at the league and forming a opinon on the evidence. He said it because he is a racist and wanted to rise some controversy and knew bringing race into a point that had no basis would do so. With that said, he still shouldn't have been fired or resigned. If he had made that comment about left handed QB's or short QB's, no one would have batted a eye. He has the right to his opinon however ilinformed and ignorant it might be. He did, however, bring up a sensitive spot for the NFL that the league had finally excaped from. Rush has caught this flack because he is Rush. He has a racist past, is a racist man, made a racially contoversial comment. That will bring fire. The most racist articles I ever read on ESPN happened a year ago when Allen Iverson was arrested in the what is now known to be a crock of bullshit from a money hungry guy. Sean D...(I'm not even going to try and spell his name) wrote something about how "Why is it that rich black guys talk about keeping it real. If they really wanted to keep it real they would move back to the projects with the rest of thier people." and his constant use of "ebonics" throughout the article to mock Iverson. It was disgusting and that ended my ESPN.com reading. So trust me, racist comments aren't anything new to that site.

Yeah, I guess it falls under the horror genre. So, it is a drama with the horror mythos as its backdrop with some comedic elements. There ya go.

I don't think you can call the refs bad for making correct calls. You could call them bad for not making the right call all the time though.
-
Only if we forget the Leaping call. They both had the POTENTIAL to effect the game. Indy Capitalized(barely) while Tampa didn't(almost did).

I'd lie if I said I wasn't waiting for that. -
Who on the roster could have had a possibly have had enough heat for the crowd to care but could afford being gone for a prolonged time selling injuries that COULD have pushed this storyline to the moon. If done CORRECTLY, Shane is the perfect person. Instead they decided to make Shane the victor in most of the fights. That is bullshit, but on paper and writen with common sense, Shane is a better choice then say...RVD who would be better to keep on screen instead of having him gone for months to sell injuries. A character that isn't a normal entity is the perfect one for what they were doing with the character. Like it or not, his Tombstoning Linda got the Kane storyline more heat than his "Look at me set JR on fire and beat up Rico and Tommy Dreamer...well, they're back now and seemingly have gotten over it, but I was so badass when I did that to them". Linda hasn't been seen since(thanks) and if they had done the same with Shane, it definately would have gotten the crowd caring even more. Instead they decided to make SHane a super man and destoryed the gimmick. But back when I said it, Shane was the best one for the job.

That will make it harder for the state to classify illegals. Because California is doing such a bang up job on it now.

... Well, since I hate to see threads with no reply... um.... Yeah?

I think the problem that is being pointed out is the massive hypocricy in Bills little rant. -
I'm confused...what?

Didn't the Grave and the Finale do some big Numbas!?

Only when I am in the good mood for a comedy. Yes, porn has become comedy with sex to me now.

Reading kills my artistic creativity. Yeah, I know it sounds stupid, but everytime I get into a book, I get a creative block, and I hate that so I only read if I have to or if I know I'm not going to do anything creative for a while.

I basically had a remote that had hald dead batteries and just would stop working sometimes so I would watch what was ever on the screen. I started watching Friends, The Practice, Last Comic Standing, Will and Grace, Scrubs, and various other shows due to this method. I don't want to share the crap I have seen through it also. So in other words, I have to force myself to stay on one channel.

By the way, Ripper, I'm still waiting for an answer to these questions. Sorry, didn't see it before. For the free black men that fought for the confederacy, they were apart of the 98% that were fighting because they knew they were up to lose the land that had gotten. BUT, he still was siding with the Army whose stance was slavery. So in essence he WAS fighting for slavery. There were also the blacks that were offered freedom if they fought for the confederacy. It really wasn't a rarity in the war as history would try to make it look. But they were still fighting for slavery. Even though the north was fighting and their plan to phase out slavery was over nearly one hundred years, they had a plan to phase it out and the south didn't. As for Grant, he was indeed all for slavery and was not the type of man to celebrate. But he fought for the right side. Don't you think there are at least SOME soldiers over in Iraq who thought it was a horrible idea to go there and was against it. THere had to be at least some troops fighting in WWII that were anti-semitic and were all for what Hitler was doing. The same can be said for every war and every side basically. I never called all the confederate soldiers evil(I don't think, and if I did, I miswrote what I meant). I said that the CAUSE that they were fighting for was evil. Evil men fought on both sides and great men fought on both sides. Some of the acts of Union Soilders as they took over southern cities were deplorable, but the CAUSE they were fighting for, rather they believed in it or not, was still the better of the two sides. I think my whole "anti-confederacy" stance comes from being from the south and seeing it glorified to the point that the facts of the war have been completely tossed out the window to say that these HEROIC men were ONLY fighting for their homes and that slavery was not that much of a issue. I have no problem for the memorials for the confederacy. Muesems where you can go and learn all about it...fine. But in alot of the south, the flag STILL flys, and people are FORCED not to celebrate those that fought in the war, but the Confederacy itself without noticing the facts that it stood on.

HEY!! He WAS the perfect guy to put him over. Then they wrote it wrong. If the writers were SANE Shane would've been the perfect guy to go at Kane at Summer Slam and get thrown (THROWN, NOT JUMP...THROWN) off something really high and have JR screaming "Dear lord, that monstar KILLED SHane. DEAR LORD!!!!!!!!" and have them do the serious voice and Shane disappears for a year "recovering from injuries" I would like to see someone tell me who else would have pushed this gimmick better if done correctly. THEY fucked it up, my statement still stands.
-
you ARE kidding right. Are you telling me you see no similarity between the concepts? Yes, Buffy would fall under Sci-fi, and Alias wouldn't (although some of the storylines are less believeable than vampires...I still love it though) they are both cut from the same cloth.
-
They certainly did get a first down out of it. They were one first down from field goal range in the next series.
