    This week in the NBA

Just a horrible matchup for them. Baron Davis is too big and strong for Chris Paul, david West would probably be covering Stephen Jackson or be in a cross mismatch with him, and Tyson Chandler can only hurt them on the glass since he has a rather underdefined offensive game. He and Bedrins can go at it all do or you could stick Harrington on him (although we all know playoff time is disappear time for Al) and it won't hurt the Warriors. Toss in the fact that there is no one even close to thinking about sticking with Monta Ellis off the dribble and I don't think they can stop them. Offensively, Baron Davis is probably the best defensive point in the game, not that he can hang with Paul completely, but he could bother him. Stephen Jackson could cover David West whose strengths are that nasty midrange game and his quickness at the 4 that would be negated by Jackson. You could put Monta Ellis on Peja if you wanted to. All you need to do is blanket him. LIke I said, Chandler isn't much of a threat really. So that leaves Mo Pete and their bench to make the difference. And honestly, I like Bonzi Wells when he is motivated and Mo Pete and Pargo...I just don't think they can actually be enough against a high octane offense like the Warriors. But honestly, I think the Warriors and Utah are the only bad matchups for the Hornets in the entire west. I could see them in the finals if they avoid those two teams.

Totally depends on who they get in the first round. I think they would destroy Dallas, Struggle against the nuggets and lose to the Warriors. Oddly, if they get out the first round, I think they could literally beat anyone. And in what has to be tradition now, Raja Bell got kicked out the Nuggets/Suns game for laughing tonight. Maybe its a new rule.

Suns just plain took over that Nuggets game last night. Them playing defense in the third quarter was a thing of beauty. I also like that high low pick and roll thing they run with Shaq, Amare and Steve right now. The hawks look like they are going to make that playoff birth if they keep it up. Hopefully they can move up a spot also. Two games with Philly could help, although Philly has been playing out of their minds.

    WWE Raw (3/31)

To me, there was something funny about that "Hey, thats a nice watch there! You guys have the same one?" and the belly laugh that HHH, Shawn and Flair all shared right then that I loved.

    WWE Raw (3/31)

Big show is so sensitive. He boo hoos at any given moment. Man. This is the stuff that you remember the rest of your life right here. I have memories of wrestling some 24 years old and Ric Flair has always been there. That was one fuck of a send off. I would have loved for some video from TNA guys though, like Sting or well....Sting. But hey. maybe thats whats coming after the show.

    The Pit

She smacked me in the face 1st... I could've done a lot worst right then and there, but I just basically wanted to get her away from me. Aren't you a midget? Those two twigs attached to your body, they enable you to walk away. That is one method to get away from her. Just going off pictures, you are about 140 lbs soaking wet, so I am guessing if you mustered the strength to lift someone and throw them over the couch, they were what, 100-110lbs tops? I mean, seriously if your retaliation to a slap is throwing someone smaller than you over a couch, then that is bitchassness to the highest degree. being able to do worse doesn't mean that what you did wasn't the move of a weak dude. But I am talking about a dude that is proud of the fact he knocked out a girl(really impressive) so I guess its wasted words here. Its like a prostitute bragging about how much cock she sucked. Sure, she sucked alot of dick for money, but it isn't really impressive. Its just sad really. Ripper - Pretty much just said you suck dick.

But the point is, when college players come in, they also have to learn on the job. College players typically arent ready to contribute their rookie year either. They are making the same millions to learn on the job. Only would you rather have a 21 year old, 3 year vet or a 26 year old 3 year vet when they are ready to contribute?

    The Pit

Everyones focusing on the Knife. The girl grabbed the knife because she couldn't win in the phsycial fight because someone picked her up and threw her over a couch for a slap. thats not even equal retaliation. Hell, if it was a dude the size of the big show, you are going to grab something to even it up. so yeah, she was wrong for grabbing the knife. It was bitchassness that led to her getting thrown over the couch. Sorry EHME, but that was pretty bitchass right there.

    This week in the NBA

Why though? Guys like Kobe, Garnett and LeBron have all shown that you can be really good coming into the NBA right out of high school. If a player is NBA ready, why don't you want to see them? That's why. Ripper says that, for every Gerald Green, there are ten guys that turn out to be good players. Not only do I strongly disagree with that, I go completely the other way: I say that, for every LeBron James, there are three Ndudi Ebis. For every Dwight Howard, there are five Robert Swifts. For every Kevin Garnett, there are six or seven Leon Smiths. I could do without that aggravation. You call it aggravation all you want, but facts are facts. There aren't six or seven Leon Smiths. There aren't five robert swifts. their aren't three Ndubi Ebis. You named the few guys period. there has only been 41 overall. And just because you said you didn't want to go through it again....I will! Since 1995(Since Garnett, when this argument has can really be started) there has been 36 guys. The Guys that have been great or at very least solid NBA pros that I can name 10 college players that got drafted high that they are better than and I honestly don't see how you could put up a argument otherwise: Kevin Garnett Kobe Bryant Jermaine O'Neal Tracy McGrady Stephen Jackson Al Harrington Rashard Lewis DeShawn Stevenson Tyson Chandler Eddy Curry DeDangna Diop Amare Stoudimire Lebron James Travis Outlaw Dwight Howard Shaun Livingston Al Jefferson Josh Smith Dorell Wright Martell Webster Andrew Bynum Monta Ellis Louis Williams Andray Blatche Amir Johnson Kedrick Perkins J.R. Smith I can see you TRYING to make a argument otherwise for these guys, although I completely disagree: Darius Miles - Yes he was drafted high, way too high, but he basically got better every year, He has three season of averaging double figures. He is a perfectly good NBA role player/defender (before the injury). Sebastian Telfair - Has had a damn good year in Minnesota and is a perfectly acceptable NBA point guard with his 9 points, 6 assist year with a 3-1 assist to turnover ratio. CJ Miles: He is being Sloan'd right now. But anyone that has watched this kid play knows full well that he is going to have a future. And on top of that he was a SECOND round pick. Kwame Brown: One of the best on the ball defending big men in the NBA. He pretty much sucks at everything else because of his little baby hands. If he was a number 20 pick people would love his defensive ability. He basically gives you the same thing guys like Shawn Williams, Josh Boone, and Desgana Diop gives you now, only he was a number one pick thus he gets crucified. I still think he is a decent pro...just not offensively. Gerald Green - Kid has a place in the league...thats all I can really say. Certified bust list: Korleone Young Jonathan Bender(a little not fair seeing as he was gone because of injuries...nothing would have changed going into college for him except him being the number one pick in the draft) Leon Smith (Kid just had issues) Ousmane Cisse (was just retarded for declaring) Ndudi Ebi James Lang Robert Swift(another injury case. He is done only because of that. When healthy, he looked like he had a future) I just don't like talking in estimates. I like talking in absolutes. And in absolutes, most of the prep to pro players have become solid to VERY good pros. There just isn't a realistic argument about these kids hurting the league and college kids being better.

Twilight Zone Episodes to be made into movies

I own Twlight Zone DVD sets. I love that show...even though they are all pretty much the same show and are very predictable pretty soon...still...love them. I wish I was an actor back then. "No...NO this isn't right at ALL."

I actually watched heavy Metal again after watching that. John Candy's voice still bothers me in that movie for some reason. Oh and that second Heavy Metal movie never happened. That movie was freaking HORRIBLE.

    This week in the NBA

I am seriously advocating not going to colllege. The point of college is to get the skills and degree that will allow you to get the job and career that you want when done. Why in the hell are they going if they want to be a pro basketball player and have the opportunity to do so? Its like if you wanted to be an animator for Disney, they saw what you could do and said "Hey, we are hiring you". You are saying that you should say "No...you guys are my dream job, but I think I am going to wait a year and keep sending in work so you can nitpick over it and might not even want to hire me anymore instead of taking the job now." College is not a necessity in life. If I want to be a blacksmith and that is what is going to make me happy, I don't need to take 2 years of Special Education to do so. There are legitimate risk to going to play for free. And with the proper donation, I am sure the millionare ex NBA player with the bum knee could still get into Duke if he really wanted to. Robert Swift and Shawn Livingston, if they had their injuries in college, would have gone from lottery picks to Euro league all stars. There is no legit reason to FORCE these kids to risk their professional lives for free. Now if the NCAA instituted some pay scale for these kids or at least programs where their struggling families can get some help while they are forcing their kids to wait 1 or the proposed 3 years to become millionares and get their family out of poverty, I might sway back to the other side. But as of right now, the NCAA is only offering these kids a mean to get known, which some of them don't even need, and thats it. And its not fair. Hell, OJ Mayo just went from a maybe top 3 pick to a top 6-7 maybe...that is a change in payscale there.

    This week in the NBA

Um, if they were going to be a lottery pick anyway, that is 3 years guarenteed money of over a 2 million per year. There is no age limit on college. You want to go to college, go to college. I can go right now and I am damn near 30. That excuse just doesn't hold water to me. Gerald Green's family and he have money now, Gerald WILL be on a NBA team come next year, probably the Rockets again. If Yao hadn't been hurt, he would be on the Rockets right now, they just needed some more size. AND on top of that, if Gerald green had gone to college, seeing as his jumper from the college three is a layup, they can hide the fact you can't play defense, his size and jumping ability, he woudl have averaged roughly 30 points a game, been a lottery pick and still wouldn't have been able to defend anything. And for every gerald green case where it looks like kid could be a bust, there are 10 cases where the kid was a good player. Then, lets look at the guys that lost careers, and money by staying in the college game. On a slight note, Jo. Noah went from a top 3 pick to edge of the lottery. Or a guy like Chris Porter than went from lottery pick to Second rounder mostly because he went back to college and took money to give his mom so she wouldn't lose her home. From the point of the player, I don't see how you can say it would be a good thing(as in, getting money to learn over risking it all to learn). If from a basketball standpoint you are saying it makes the game better, look at it like this: Are you honestly saying that a guy that doesn't "get it" 3 years into a NBA career with top class training facilities, a coach for every aspect of the game, a hired chef making sure their nutrition is right, 24 hour, 365 access to a gym and coaches, and playing the best players in the world...if a guy doesn't get it after 3 years of that, you are saying that 3 years of COLLEGE ball would have done it for him? I have said it before and I will say it again, college basketball sucks because a vast majority of its players suck. If you think sending Darius Miles to college where he would have absolutley destroyed all those 6'9" centers (because Miles would have been a Center BTW) and averaged 35 points and 20 rebounds a game would have made him a better player, I don't know what to tell you. The great college players all just happen to be bigger or more athletic than everyone else in college so they put up these great numbers, get in the NBA where they aren't bigger or more athletic than anyone and proceed to suck. Then there are guys that are really that good and they get better. The NCAA basketball should be nothing more than promotion for guys that don't get that buzz coming out of Highschool. Yes, Brandon Roy and Chris Paul were that good coming out of highschool. But nobody knew who the hell Chris Paul and Brandon Roy was. They were able to make a name for themselves in college and get to the pros as a lottery pick. that is necessary for some. I think it is laughably ridiculous that OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose and Michael Beasley just had to waste their time playing in college basketball this year. You know they all probably went to 3 classes between the 3 of them, so it wasn't for education. It was just a way for college hoops to make more money off of kids for free. Screw them and their whining.

Why is it a little hard to believe that after making racist comments and a woman fell face first into a pile of glass, that she sat around smoking a cig(can you even smoke in a resturant in Virginia?) while swirling her drink, that the restuarant gave her extra wine for ridding them of the bothersome negros. All after the entire room went dead silent? Sounds more like a racist fantasy than truth honestly. Oh that crazy Marney...

Well...to be fair, that is what is being said. If they wrote "shorty" and said "shawty" then it is just being deceptive. If you are in Atlanta enough you will evetually hear just "shaw". Nothing new or anything, people have been saying that for years.

Rant called fresh to death new. I still maintain my belief that white people somehow stay a constant 4 years behind on slang. I have to admit though, I have never heard "touch" or "arm"s which means either I am officially old or you guys mis heard what was said. I am leaning towards you not being able to hear very well...

    This week in the NBA

I alway have and always will think the age restriction thing is a huge crock of crap. I have to disagree that the NBA is way better since the age rule, seeing as this is year two. the only difference in the league is that Greg Oden would have had a year under his belt before injuring his knee and Kevin Love and OJ Mayo would be in the league right now. Thats about all the changes that have occured. If a guy wants to play professional basketball for a living and has the talent to do so and his skills are in demand, the why in the hell should he have to play for free for 1+ years and risk his total career. I think either they pay the kids to stay in college or they should be able to leave if they want. This wouldn't be okay in any other job and besides football where there is a legit argument in the physical maturation of players from highschool to college to the NFL, it doesn't occur in ANY other sport. So why does basketball need to have this rule? Its dumb. The same way GM's can draft a foreign player and leave him to make him better, the NBA GM's have a choice of getting a highschool kid, starting him right out if he has the talent, or building him up. I don't understand this odd belief that if a guy stays in college for some years, they come in ready to start despite the proof ALL over the league saying that isn't so. Even with college experience most of them take a year or so to learn the game. Only difference is, this guy learning the game could be 18 or 22. College basketball does not come close to pro basketball. It is a shorter season, it is crappier competition, horrible spacing, and you athletisim will separate you from everyone else. I will maintain that you will gain more in a season of practice with a pro team and spot minutes than you would 2 years of college ball starting.

Chris Webber should get in. Once again, I look to Bill Walton being in the HOF as a case of "if that fucker can get in." And to think, Bill Walton used to always run Chris down when he was commentating his games... I think 17-8 is close enough to the 20-10 number that almost should guarentee a big man a birth into the Hall. Especially when you consider those assist. I still say he is probably one of the more underrated players of this era.

How Do You Like Your Steaks?

Medium or medium well, depending on the place. I only go for ribeyes too. I am always trying to come up with my own rub, but for now, I marinate in Worshire sauce, a little vineger, olive oil, burgany cooking wine, bay leaf, garlic powder...let it sit over night and cook the next day. greatest tasting thing ever. Taste like the cow ate shirmp before it died...wonderful. Oh and no steak sauce.
  23. See, I rate it higher because it is a good movie until the last 15 minutes. Thats a pretty good run for one of these movies. Even the twist itself wasn't that bad, its just that they took the twist and then said "You know....lets do the Matrix!!!" and people randomly had on leather suits and sunglasses. I guess after year after year of mindnumbingly bad movies, this was one of the better ones I had seen. I haven't seen the ones you ranked higher than this one this year though(wait...I did see Nightmare man. Lets just say we disagree on THAT one...ew) so I will check them out.
  24. I have watched ALOT of movies the last couple of weeks: Once : great little movie here. I love the soundtrack also now. I understand why people that don't care for musicals like this one, although I have to say, its not really a traditional musical. But for the music alone, you should see this. Southland Tales: I saw the original cut which was longer, and more mind fuckery and the ending made less sense. Now I have watched the theactical cut, and I have to say...its a little better. Still...pretty trippy movie. I don't think all of it makes any sense whatsoever. Its one of those "I am just going to do a bunch of weird stuff and let people make up theories about it" movies. My theory, this is just a screenplay written by a drugged up action star and a porn star. The Rocks character pretty much breaks down the entire movie when he is explaining his script to Stifler earlier in the movie. After that, everyone has weird, lame names like they were in a bad script and all the wierd trippy stuff happens. I think we are just looking at his trippy, bad script, which explains the ending somewhat. Lars and the Real Girl: This was supposed to be a comedy apparently. This was kinda tough to watch though. It was really really sad. It was a incredible performance by Gosling, and the movie was kinda wierd, but if you grew up in a really small town, kinda believeable. I was genuinely touched by some of the things going on in the movie, but I was a little distrubed when it was clear that Lars had DEEP mental issues and the psycologist just stuck with the "we should go along with it" route. I mean seriously, he felt phyical pain when people touched him....get that boy some help. John Rambo: Hells yeah. This was quite the action movie. A action movie with zombie movie gore effects...can't complain at all. Yes, some parts are tough to watch and its plenty fucked up. Quite a few rapes and child killings. But hey, if you can't cheer a woman and child killing pedophile getting gutted...I don't know what will make you cheer. I enjoyed the movie. The Darjeeling Limited - Its a Wes Anderson movie. If you like him, watch it, you won't be disappointed. If you don't, then don't because you aren't going to like it. Strong movie for me, great writing, although the luggage metaphor was a little too in your face for my liking. The Mist - this movie kicked ass although it was just a TAD bit over the top at the end Some of the CG was not that great in the start, but there were strong performances, one of the most satisfying headshots in cinema history, and a non hollywood, realistic ending (minus the spoiler up there). Thats all I can think of off the top of my head right now although there are probably another dozen movies I have watched recently. More later.

    My Mom had a stroke

Whew...this has been a long couple of weeks. So, my mom has been recovering from surgery and was moved to this rehab facility called Healthsouth for about two weeks now. Although she still forgets stuff from time to time and doesn't remember anything around that time she got worse before, she is in good shape. She is talking just like before, lecturing me on stuff. She was able to pick up like 2-3 blocks the other day with her left hand which is great. She doesn't have total feeling in it, but just being able to move it kinda suprised them. Plus she was able to take 65 steps the other day which is also great. the bad thing is that this place is seriously understaffed, and while she jokes about having to make an appointment to get help to go to the bathroom, I don't find it too funny, although they seem to be on point when I get there. So I have been pretty much there in the mornings, and making the 3 1/2 hour drive back to Atlanta to go to work. I am pretty tired am probably diabetic by now from all the energy drinks I have put down. Then my car overheated and I had to get this part fixed. I am offically broke as FUCK. I have spent thousands of dollars in the last 3 weeks just between paying her bills and missing work, but thats okay, i am just happy my mom is doing better. Gotta say, I am in much better spirits right now. Thanks for all your prayers and good words/thoughts.
