    My Mom had a stroke

It has just come to my attention that it is Sunday, and not Saturday. I lost a day somewhere!

    My Mom had a stroke

Well, as a update: I got to her in Dothan Alabama on that Sunday and besides not being able to move her left side and a little slurred speech, she was fine, making jokes...just doing well. So I stayed with her a few days, ran back to Atlanta to make sure the cats were okay and to pay my rent(i forgot to leave a check) I left on Tuesday evening and got back Wed evening and by then, she was pretty bad. By thursday morning she was pretty horrible. She couldn't open her eyes, didn't really know where she was and was just getting worse. They had to go in and remove a clot from her brain and she had surgery yesterday. She came out pretty much how she was the first day that she was here, although I am starting to notice her regress a little, but hopefully thats just because of it being so close to the surgery. Plus, she had a crew of lazy fat bitches in the CCU this morning that didn't help her while she was screaming for them. I had gone to get some food and came back through the doors and heard her at which point they decided to get off their asses and come give her some help. So now she thinks that none of the nurses will help her and that me or my sister has to be here all the time for her to be okay. She has been begging me not to leave her alone. I can say with no exaggeration that I have had 12 hours of sleep in the last week, and I am starting to feel like Ed Nortons character at the start of fight club. Everything is all floaty and I can't really sleep even if I try. I might head back to Atlanta for a day or so tommorrow and take something to help me get some sleep then. Everytime I try now, a few minutes later, I for some reason get the feeling that I am driving and have to wake up. Okay, I am rambling. But she is doing maybe a little worse than she was when I first saw her now, but tommorrow, I think, will be a good determining factor on how she is doing for me at least.

    My Mom had a stroke

I just spoke to her and she can hardly speak. She kept repeating the same thing over and over. I couldn't hold it together for her and that is just killing me that I couldn't have one conversation with her and not be crying all over the fucking phone.

    My Mom had a stroke

I have typed at least 15 post and then deleted them in the last few minutes. Just typing shit and thinking about posting it is helping do something. But this fucking clock just is sitting still. I feel like I have been waiting for hours and its been like 2 fucking minutes

    My Mom had a stroke

So I just found out my mom had a stroke, they also found bleeding on her brain. I have no idea where they are sending her(the hospital in my home town isn't equiped to handle it. Since they are either going to send her to Birmingham or Dothan, I can't even leave here yet because they are in two different directions and I wouldn't really be going anywhere yet. I have been trying to call anyone around me because I have to go home, I don't know how long, and my cats need to be fed. I know, maybe you are saying they should be the least of my worries, but I love them and they are in my worries too. So basically I have to wait. Just sit here and fucking wait and I could either keep pacing a hole in my floor or sit here and vent it out. If you believe in any god, pray to him/her now. If you don't, then wish her good luck or what ever athiest do. Edit: I just read that and it might come off as a shot at atheist, but it really wasn't. Sorry if it came off that way.
  7. The funniest thing in the commercial is him saying stuff like "If you fight outside of the gym, you are OUT!" ANd "The guys that get in this for the wrong reasons never last!" Um...what exactly are the right reasons to be in illegal underground fight leagues? Please tell me guy that refs the illegal fights? They should do a movie about dog fighting with the same kind of lines. "The guys that get into dog fighting for the wrong reasons never last."

    This week in the NBA

I didn't think it was possible, but with the combination of Billy Knight having to fight for the Hawks to draft Horford instead of Yi, and that it has come out that he has tried to fire Mike Woodson at least 3 times but the ownership wouldn't let him, I have alot more respect for the guy. I might even get over the whole Chris Paul thing(when I threatened to kick him in the balls if he didn't draft him).

Its a Lebron, Kobe, Paul toss up. If the Hornets don't get it together(which I expect them to) I will say its between Kobe and Lebron. I think Kobe is too good to go through his career without a MVP though. It would be pretty screwed up, but I would honestly go Lebron, Kobe, Paul right now. That is the order of the talent level. I think that Lebron is doing the most with the least, Kobe has a decent team but they are not as good as their record. Most of that is KObe. I think Paul has the best all around team of the three with David West, Peja, Chandler, Mo Pete, and others. And yes Vita, I still think that Lebron is a better defender than Kobe. Kobe could be, but consistantly, I think Lebron does a better job. Last year and the year before, they were both pretty bad, and clearly not giving effort. This year, Lebron has definately been playing some great defense. And I can agree with Vita, I do think of Kobe as the MJ and Lebron as the Magic. I also think Magic Johnson is the greatest player ever to play the game.
  10. And people, a wrestler killed his wife and kid and every show on television was bashing it as a bunch of roided up drug freaks. WHY would anyone with any type of success outside this business attach themselves back to it now anyway. "Fuck your life Rock, you need to randomly show up to give back, even if it could screw up your ACTUAL job. "
  11. I know for certain the Shawn took one of his unscripted cheapshots at Rock once in a promo. But anyway, this is plain silly. A: Rock, unlike guys like Austin or Hogan, liked to put guys over and give guys the rub. While the other two probably have no problem coming in, taking the spotlight from the guys that are actually busting their asses for every week, cutting some promos, going over said talent in ways that does absolutely nothing for their careers, then fine. What does Rock coming in and cutting a promo on anyone prove? B: He retired. RETIRED. You guys groan everytime Foley shows back up, and he is fake retired. The guy was a wrestler for quite a while. He is damn near 40. Yes, he has moved on to a easier, better paying job. To say he doesn't have love for a business he grew up around and did for the better part of his younger years is just silly. He loves it, he also was smarter than alot of the dumbasses in the business. He could be Hogan or he could be someone else that is actually successful outside of wrestling. A younger, dumber Cena can say stupid shit where he is basically saying "Why can't he take breaks from making movies to get back into wrestling shape and have some matches...or better yet come show up everyonce and a while, not in wrestling shape, and risk serious injury to perform for a small amount of money?" This is dumb. And anyone asking why Rock doesn't come back has dumb selfish reasoning. Why SHOULD he. He busted his ass for your entertainment for years. Take that and be happy with it you whiney fucks. I will give you a better example than Michael Jordan. Take the hundreds of other guys that loved the NBA and LOVED basketball but hasn't done anything basketball related since they left the game. Like, say a Kevin Johnson. You can't question the guys love and devotion to the game of basketball, but when he retired (at around 31-32 I believe) he LEFT. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Random Magic question... Do any of you think that Fran Vasquez, who reportedly wants to finally come over next season, can ever actually play for the Magic, or will the fans be waiting outside the plane and stomp him viciously when he gets there.

He left Orlando because he felt that taking Dwight Howard meant the team didn't care about the right now and were building for the far far future and should have taken Okafor. HA!

    This week in the NBA

I am just saying that late in the playoffs, talent be damned, I don't think the Hornets will take any of the more experienced teams. I think the Lakers have Kobe, who has the experience and Fisher is definately going to help, but they also have a entire roster of guys that have wet the bed in the last few years in the playoffs...maybe this is the year the get "it". Grant Hill has never been anywhere in the playoffs and I think it will be interesting to see him if they go deep in. Will he suck? Will he play well? Who knows? I just don't think you can call something overrated and cliche when it proves to be true almost 100% of the time.

But...how can you call it overrated when the example is there year in and year out. the Jazz got to the West finals last year beating two teams that had never been there either. So they were better. Then they played a team that had been there before and lost. Sure you are going to fine some good teams that miss the playoffs or get put out early, fine, thats basketball, but as the playoffs grind on, there are teams that know how to play there, by being there, and others that don't.

    A Raisin in the Sun

So I watched this last night. INCREDIBLE, Emmy winning performance from Phylicia Rashad. Just incredible. Audra McDonald, Sanaa Lathan, and David Oyelowo all really stood out to me with incredible peformances also. ... Then... There was fucking Puffy. Way to ruin what could have been another great presentation of this play to go along with the Danny Glover, Bill Duke directed 89 version and the Sidney Poitier 1961 version. except this time they didn't have a fucking actor play Walter Lee and instead we got fucking Puffy who sucked donkey dick in the role. I would recommend seeing it if you liked the play, just so you can see alot of talented actors and actresses give incredible performances and one fucking horrible, dry, stiff, dumb performance by a non acting Puffy. It was like watching the Ray Allen and Denzel scenes in He Got Game. One guy that is a incredible actor and one guy who is the most extreme opposite that you can reach. Ripper- said incredible about 90 times in this post.

King kinda beat me too it, but seroiusly, you watch a team new to the the Conference finals have no idea how to handle it. Then you see the team that has been there before that knows whats going on and takes it to that other level. All championship teams have had to fight through someone that was their foe before. The Pistons and the Celtics, The Bulls and the Pistons, The Lakers and the Jazz, The Mavs and San Antonio...the suns still haven't gotten over their Spur hump (or that fucking Laker hump in the late 80's...goddamn assholes). Playoff basketball is not like regular season NBA basketball. Teams with no experience at the Playoff basketball level usually aren't going to be able to win it.

Oh BS. Name a team that went from sucking to championship level. Every team has to have been there before. Edit: As I say that I now think of the Kidd Nets going to the finals. but to be fair, they played a bunch of teams that had never been there before either. I honestly think they are the exception. Eany champion And King, I did forget that Walton was a rookie on that last finals appearance and Rad was in the second round. But my point is that the team will be counting on guys like Sasha, Bynum, Farmar and Odom. I say they are unproven playoff performers though. They might break out like a Tim Thomas a few years back or they might disappear like a Q Richardson did for the Suns. Yet I keep hearing the talking heads call them the team to beat, completely ignoring that San Antonio is getting healthy. The same spurs that people have for some reason stopped saying are the team to beat in the West. Seems odd to me. I don't see how you can place anyone above them in the west, record be damned.

I do find it funny that so many commentators are writing the Hornets out of the playoffs because they have no playoff experience when the besides Bryant, Odom and Fisher, have never gotten out of the first round. The Hornets have Peja, and Bonzi Wells that have been out of the first round. Yet for some reason, i am supposed to buy that the Lakers are the team to beat in the west. I just don't get it.

    The Oscars

Speaking of the Razzies, am I the only person that LIKED Norbit? It had some funny moments but it was pretty bad. But you can't knock Murphys acting job in it. Just the jokes weren't funny.

Pbone, are you serious with the sunny d thing? And once again, i really really knew plenty of people that talked just like this chick and I was one of them. And I am from Alabama, its not exactly known for having overly verbose highschoolers. Maybe your schools just sucked or you didn't hang around the dorky, old rock music listening to smartasses. I don't know. Movie still seems quite natural to me.
  22. Michelles friend denise grew up...
  23. There was a episode about a girl with AIDs on a diffrent world. Tisha Campbell was the girl I think. I remember they had to write something about where they would be in five years and she wrote something about how she died from AIDS or something. It was right when Whitley was ready to let Dwayne Wayne get some, but the whole AIDS thing scared her. And everyone started treating the AIDS girl differently at the Cafe and Mr. Gaines yelled at them. Thats how you handle AIDs. Let a old, bald black man yell at people about the facts.
  24. Oh, I forgot the Jeffersons. The one when George gets a gun and LIonel and whats-her-faces daughter almost kills herself was a good special moment episode.
  25. And Wills dad leaving him again...there were plenty more I think. But once again, no sappy music, they just had silence as the live studio audience gets punched right square in the balls because they came in thinking they were going to get a nice funny show and get drama. THATS how you handle it. Oh, and how did I leave out mutha fuckin Goodtimes. James dying, JJ getting shot, gangs, old lady eating catfood, James getting fired 2000 times, drugs, pimps, JJ with the clap, destroyed NFL careers, child abuse(with a Iron no less), deaf kid about to fall down a elevator shaft, guns in the house, Michael dating the white girl(just funny on so many levels), getting robbed for the lottery ticket, woman beating and I am pretty sure there was a rape episode....and it still didn't get sappy. that is just fucking talented writing.
