What the flipping fuck was that Gatorade commercial about?
-
The foot was funny. I don't know what to say.

You don't mess with the Zohan commercial made me laugh hard. I don't know how to feel about that.

refs yell that after plays to let them know the play is dead.

That was a shittastic spot. I have to say, short of Iron man, every movie has looked like crap tonight. Talking babies....how cutting edge....

How much are you getting back in taxes this year
Ripper replied to Youth N Asia's topic in General Chat
Supposed to get 860 back. I just got a letter saying I owed an extra 440 because I didn't pay taxes on unemployment from a few years back. I was expecting more. -
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

I loved the movie. That is all. -
Oh please. Chris Webber consistantly did more with his talent than Rasheed Wallace. First I think that Rasheed has always had more all around skills. Then there is the fact that Webber was pretty much always over 20-10 every year. And on top of that, much of Webbers decline had nothing to do with his effort or lack of focus. He had multiple serious injuries. I can't count that as a waste of talent. I count that as unfortunate injuries. Rasheed COULD score on the block at will. With his height and wing span and strength and abilities he is virtually unstoppable with his back to the basket. He also can step oput and consistantly hit the jump shot out to the three point line. He ALSO has underrated passing abilities out the post that rank up there with Webbers ability. THEN you add in the fact that he is probably the best on the ball post defensive player we have seen in the NBA in a LONG time. He COULD average 2-3 shot blocks a game but he doesn't challenge shots that much. Rebounding wise, when he puts in the effort he he COULD average around 11-12 rebounds a game. Only he doesn't try all the time. Hell, even at getting steals, his wingspan helps him get those. There has never been a big man that has his combination of offensive skills. Ever. he has dirk range with a real back to the basket game. He can play finesse and bruiser style. Defensively, he is one of the best now and he doesn't try that hard. If he had any kind of focus We would be talking about the most unstoppable offensive force in the league that also happens to be one of the more unmoveable objects on the defensive end. Instead we have a guy that sometimes is unstoppable and sometimes lacks the focus to pay attention to the game or gets bored and doesn't try as hard. I am talking about a bigger Hakeem with more range. Absolutely ridiculous to watch him play and think about what he could be.

Probably the most wasted talent in the history of the NBA. And I don't think that I am overstating it. He could easily have been one of the top 5 players EVER.

well, that commercial was pretty racist.

You know...what NFL team isn't built on team work? I don't get it. What makes New England more team worky?

whoa now Roy? Are we talking about the same Pau Gasol here. He is a 7 foot center. Averaging 8 rebounds is not impressive. He isn't as bad as curry on the boards, but he has averaged under 8 rebounds a game twice in his career. He is nothing close to a good rebounder. And monster shotblocker? Since when? Bynum plays defense. Gasol don't no nothing of this defense thing. I think you might be looking at those numbers last year. Gasol starts every season pretty strong and fades towards the end. He didn't have a chance to last year because he started so late with the injury so his numbers are skewed. Once again, Gasol is one impressive offensive weapon and I am not saying he is as bad as Curry who blocks no shots and cant rebound. But their games aren't much difference. Gasol blocks a shot every once and awhile, and doesn't rebound that well. And i need to stress again, he SUCKS defensively. Bynum should be the guy on the block as he is a better passer from down there than Gasol, a better rebounder and a better defender, and his offensive game on the block is just as good, but he doesn't have that nasty face up game Gasol has. It should be intersting. But its gonna be tough making them both work in the front court. And I know Billy Knight had been trying to trade for him, so just using Billy Logic, he had to have at least offered 30 first round non protected draft picks and 4 starters for him. For some odd reason, Memphis took this really really really really bad deal.

not only was that incredibly bad, but why the hell was it so long. Ugh.
-
Plus every shot, every touch, every rep he gets in practice is time that could have been spent on a player that is actually giong to be there the next year.
-
Not to mention they added another point guard. So now they have Lowery, Conley, Critt and to some extent Navarro at the point guard position. So they took a player they don't need with a guarenteed contract, a center that will only clear 8 mill off their cap and some first round draft picks in the teens for Pau Gasol. The funny thing is, they had to contact the Lakers with this because there is no way Mitch called and offered that bullshit for Gasol. He wouldn't have wasted the energy of telling his secretary to dial the number.

And it has pretty much sucked every time. This time someone will be wearing spandex. I said a GOOD movie.

The talent heavy summer is another season away.
-
You can't blame paxon on this. When he tried to make the trade they were holding out for Deng AND gordon. Now they give him up for some draft picks in the teens and Kwame Brown.

Now that the initial shock has worn off, i have to wonder. What are they going to do when Bynum gets back? You have created a Eddy Curry/Z-bo situation again. I mean, I love Gasol and all, but at the end of the day he is a 7 foot center that doesn't rebound well, doesn't pass out the double well and doesn't play defense. If he gained 150lbs, gave about 50% less effort and got cornrows he would be Eddy Curry. Bynum needs the ball on the block to be effective and so does gasol. how will they work that out in the offense? Will Gasol become more of a jumpshooter?
