Wanna hear Dog the Bounty Hunter say "nigger"?
Ripper replied to justsoyouknow's topic in No Holds Barred
Sharpton caring about some stuff is a figment of some peoples imaginations. They just like to say "Sharpton and Jackson" The difference between Sharpton and Jackson is that Sharpton will jump on any one, black or white, if he feels that it is doing black people an injustice (from Isaiah Thomas, to hip-hop boycotts this year alone) while Jackson will go where he can get donations and say that blacks are being done wrong without ever putting fault on the black race. I really think some people should really stop and listen to Sharpton debate a topic every once and a while, and they would see that the guy actually makes legit points and can be awfully fair and balanced. Jackson makes his living off the fact that he was around MLK and can't debate worth a shit and is a fucking embarassment. I rarely agree with either of them, but I do think we well past the point where its unfair to lump Sharpton in with Jackson. Its and insult when one of them is opinionated while the other is a moron. I really don't think that Sharpton is going to care about Dog the Bounty hunter. Although if he does, I will be the first to say I am wrong. -
Bullshit. Jay's second verse on Renegade was incredible and on par with Ems stuff in the song. His first verse...well.. American Gangsta is good. Weak showing by Wayne though as i expected more from him. But then he did "Gossip" at the BET awards so he is free to suck for a little while now after bringing the awsome. Good album though. Very early 90's feel to it.

eh. he got on the 'pologize ass kiss parade soon afterwards. Sharpton won't care, Jackson will say he is forgiven, if sponsors leave the show will be cancelled. If they don't leave it will still be on. I personally don't care. Besides...he is the dawg...the big bad dawg...you tellin me that you didn't figure he said nigger every now and then? And we didn't care, because he and freak boobs were stopping criminals and leadin them to Christ brah. -
I am with King here. Of the few teams that really would send a player home, Buss is one of those guys that would really toss a fuck you his way if they couldn't find a deal. People keep saying that they have to trade him or they get nothing. People are forgetting that they would actually get enough money to sign two star free agents if they can't get a deal and just let him walk which is pretty much the same as trading him for someone. Not that I think that WILL happen, but there is definately more than a 0% if a chance of it happening.

once again, I don't understand that logic. Say you have a 4:3 32inch HDTV. You get to watch the SD programming (the vast majority of TV) at 32inchs and with HD programming in 16:9 you have the equivilant of a 29 inch HDTV. On the other end, with a 32inch widescreen, You have the HD programing at 32 inches (losing a whopping 3 incheswhen compared to the 4:3 display) but get SD programming at 26 inches(losing 6 inches off you view size. I honestly don't think that unless you are getting a widescreen of at least 42 inches, it makes more sense to, me at least, to stick with the 4:3 because you get more screen for your money. Of course, I don't think many people are buying smaller widescreen TV's. But to say that having a 4:3 HDTV is a ripoff seems kinda false to me seeing as most of them would be in the 32-36 inch range.

I'm sure there are fights at everyones practice all the time. Its not a big deal. The Bulls should give up Hinrich. If they are holding off this trade and having the ability to have Deng and Kobe as their two guys for the next few years because of Kirk fucking Hinrich, John Pason should be shot. Kurt Hinrich is good but he is nothing that special that you don't trade for one of the best players in the NBA.

The problem with Firefly was that they showed the 3rd show first, the 2nd show 2nd and the pilot near the end of the season. That shit was confusing. When I saw it on DVD, it flowed and was great. On television, i got thrown into a show not knowing who any of these characters were and didn't care. TV needs Joss Whedon and his ilk. I just don't think it will stick just because of the nature of television. Fox should be expecting ratings in the high 3's low 4's if they are going to greenlight this show, because thats all its going to get. If they are expecting more, the DVD set will be out in a few months.
-
Good. 7 eps of Whedon TV. Because, you know...thats how long it will last.

There is no way any of those teams make that trade. The Lakers get nothing close to good value in two combustable players that don't particularly like each other that much, Sacramento adds Ben Gordon so that they can....um...what? Have him come off the bench for Kevin Martin? We all know who the future of the franchise is at the 2. And the Bulls get Kobe for nothing. Come on now. The Lakers would be better off with Kobe for Gilbert straight up.
-
Yeah. It probably was Gilbert. But I am sure alot of others are thinking it too. Really dumb decision by the Hawks

They have changed something. the pan pizza isn't the crispy edged scorced cheese, greezy goodness it once was. Now it just is...ugh. I don't like it anymore.

I'm not sold on the Celtics being a contender this year. They have the big three and literally nothing else. They'll probably win their division, but it'll take another offseason to get enough parts around them to be a legit threat. They have one of the better defensive point guards in the NBA, Tony Allen coming off the bench, Brian Scalabrine being able to do what he is supposed to do(support start players, not try and be one), Kedrick Perkins, if he can stay out of foul trouble, is a solid starting Center defensively and can rebound and finish around the basket well enough, another strong defensive player that can help with James Posey who also excels at hitting the three off of double teams, a hustle player in Scott Pollard who will get in there and annoy the fuck out of everyone around him, and Eddie House who can come in and score in bunchs. Not to mention guys like Leon Powe, and Glen Davis who I don't expect big things from this year, but will be able to help in spots. The Celtics have 3 hall of famers and a bunch of players that are very good at what they do (a guard that can basically only shoot, a couple of Centers that can only rebound and hustle, a wing man that can defend and shoot). The Bulls in the late 90's had 3 hall of famers and a bunch of players that were very good at what they did. The only difference here is that A: All three of the Celts hall of famers can score and B: None of them are as automatic as Jordan and C: Doc River ain't Phil Jackson. So while I don't expect 70 wins like those bulls teams, I don't see how you can say they have nothing around them. If nothing else, House, Scalabrine, Posey and Pollard are proven support players in winning systems.

Could've sworn people said something like this about the suns a couple of years ago. Diaw and Skinner take a bigger role if either of them go down and the team still wins 48-55 games. Suns definately make the playoffs without NAsh. They don't get close to sniffing a championship, but they easily make the playoffs. Not underrating what Nash does for the team, but comeon. Once again, I ask, what is this depth that dallas has to which people speak? I can KINDA understand the argument with San Antonio, but Dallas?

Well in Kwames instance, the only reason he is a "bust" is that he was the number one overall pick in a draft where no player deserved to be the number one pick(honestly go back and tell me who you could honestly say was worthy of that pick). He is a servicable NBA player and contributor and starter on a playoff team. And going by your list you have counted these guys as bust that I didn't: Travis Outlaw: Has simply been the victim of player showcasing in Portland. Numbers toward the end of the year for the last couple of seasons have been very strong(after they were done showcasing trade bait), management considered him a priority to resign, increased his numbers every year, should be averaging double figures this year. Kendrick Perkins: Split time at Center with Mark Blount last year, still avearged almost 2 blocks per game with only 17 minutes per night. Will be the starting Center for the Celtics this year, when he got big minutes, he got big results. Expect more of the same this year. Shaun Livingston: Been injured but that is just about the only knock you can only have on this guy. I don't see how you could say he is a bust. Dorell Wright - When Pat Riley said he and Dwayne Wade are the future of this team, he wasn't blowin smoke up the medias ass. Put up pretty good numbers in limited minutes last year, will probably be more of a priority this year with Posey and Walker gone. Louis Williams - Can't see how this kid is a bust. They just haven't played him. Has been dominant in the NBDL, summer leagues and preseasons as a scoring guard. He was behind AI and now behind Andre Miller. Just hasn't seen that much PT in his past two years Andray Blatche - Again, hasn't seen much PT, but there is a reason he was able to get that money this season. Another case of grooming future talent. Kwame Brown - If you take his draft position into account, then yeah, bust. If you are saying bust as a NBA player, then I will say no. Serviceable big man. Darius Miles - Averaged 17 points and 5 rebounds and a block as a starter last year before the knee ended his year. Averaged 15 points and 6 rebounds as a starter the year before. Is he injury prone? Yeah. But when the guy plays minutes, he is very very productive. His injured games skew his stats alot. He will have 10 games in a season where he will play 2 minutes and have no points and throw off his average. Check out his splits. The guy is no bust. Worse case scenario, he is averaging double figures for his career. Desagna Diop - I don't see how you call this guy a bust unless you are counting his draft position against him. I think difference between you and I is that you seem to count people as a bust if they aren't all star level or big time stat guys while I don't care about stats. Their addition to their team, and how they play their role is what matters to me. Ed Obannon is a bust. you are counting guys that not only have made it in the NBA but have repeatedly justified their existance. Guys like Outlaw and Williams are obviously NBA players that are still in the early phases of long careers like McGrady and Jermaine O'Neil were at one time. Rodney White, Kirk Haston, Michael Bradley, Joe Forte, Reese Gaines, Troy Bell, Dahntay Jones, Rafael Araújo, Luke Jackson, Pavel Podkolzine, Yaroslav Korolev, Julius Hodge, those guys, those are bust. And to the people that keep counting Telfair. Why? Once again, he had one bad year in Boston, but he was a decent point guard in Portland although he was having to split time with Jack. I mean seriously, he average 10 and 4 his second year in the League with only 24 minutes a game. Those are bust numbers. Those shooting percentages are horrible, but at the same time, look at Jason Kidds his first 3-4 years in the league.

I strongly disagree. Parker or Duncan go down and the Spurs are struggling to make the playoffs. Especially Duncan. His length at the rim makes people think that San Antonio is actually a good defensive team when in reality, people can get by their defenders with ease, its just Tim makes them have to pull up once they are by them. Take out Tim and its a layup line. Tony adds too much to their offense. Without him you are counting on Darius Washington and Jaque Vaughn. The Suns, if Nash goes down, will have Leandro Barbosa and Marcus Banks and DJ Strawberry at the point, and while that is a major step down, they are all very talented players. Plus they still have playmakers in Hill and Diaw, and Amare is going to be Amare regardless. I think Phoenix is the deepest of the good teams, but utilize it less than anyone else. Dallas, I don't see any real depth there. They can handle maybe Jason Terry going down because they have Howard. Thats about it. Josh Howard goes down and you have to move Stackhouse to the starting line up and your bench becomes George. Ugh.
-
Every other team around them got better. parker is a better player now, Duncan is healthy and Ginobli isn't as psychotic. I dont' think they could take San Antonio again. They definately wouldn't have taken the Suns in the WCF with Amare. I don't think they would have if Raja hadn't been hurt. The Suns also have gotten better (well better equipped against a team like Dallas). So I don't think they could take Phoenix again. Houston has gotten better and Dallas struggled with them anyway. I don't think they could take Houston in a first round playoff matchup. I honestly think that Utah would have taken Dallas last year. They are equipped to do so. A big, brusing point, a low post scorer that no one on Dallas can stop, a long athletic guy to give Dirk fits....yeah. There are 4 teams I don't think Dallas could really beat. Thats not counting Golden State, but I don't think Golden State will make the playoffs this year so they won't matter. I really could see them being the 5th best team in the west, although their record will have them in the top 3. I understand why people are counting them out.
-
Doesn't that almost apply for everyone? Suns lose Nash and they will still win alot but they won't be a title contender. Spurs lose any of their big three and I don't see them as winning it. Mavs lose Howard and I don't think they will be much. I think the "If healthy" think applies to everyone in the league right now. If healthy, Houston will be very good. I just don't think they can win it all. Especially when neither of their superstars have been out of the first round.
-
I guess people expect them to be healthy, an actual useful Bonzi Wells and some offense out of their back court is enough. I personally don't think they could take San Antonio or Phoenix in the playoffs.
-
I loved the Suffering. Good sound system and low lights, awesome game(and pretty kickass story). I never made my way through the whole sequal. It wasn't as interesting.
-
Who on that list are you calling a bust that I said wasn't?
-
Shows first match against Austin in the cage match after he debuted was fucking awsome. Thats how you sell a monster without making the face look like a total bitch. They never got it right again.
-
How can you not be excited as a portland fan with the way that Aldridge plays. He is like a much better Channing Frye.
-
yeah, they have to trade him so I see them showcasing him when he gets back at the expense of Jame Jones.
-
Jesus, Portland is like 12 deep. 3 guys at point Roy at the 2 Jones, Outlaw, Webster at the 3 LaMarcus, Channing Frye and Joel a the front two spots. Thats the guys that really have to get PT. Add in Oden and damn.
-
Austins loss to Brock Lesnar was going to come via Eddy interfering with the match, so it wasn't going to be a real job or clean. Fuck him for that and I don't care how he tries to justify it.
