I like Wild Card. Just curious as to how I've earned that bad boy.

Banky used to 0wn this end of the forums awhile back. I also know Banky had about 50 different alter egos/usernames. Is he still posting here and if so, what is his current name/s?

I roll with the black and red LeBron's and the black and silver KG's (Kevin Garnett) 2004's for when I'm playing ball or doing weight training at the gym. For just hanging out or leisure, I sport a pair of all black or all white K-Swiss low tops or if my dog's are barking, I go with my And 1 slippers that can be worn with or without socks.

A lot of things hinging on this game. -If the Spurs lose this, Duncan is the one who will take the most heat, as he should since he is the face of the franchise. The Spurs winning or losing this game is going to really make or break their potential legacy. With a win, they start talk of a mini dynasty that could turn into a full fledged dynasty seeing as the core (Duncan, Ginobili, Parker) isn't going anywhere for awhile. With a loss, they go down as huge chokers who gave up a lead and 2 shots in their house and still couldn't get the job done. -For the Pistons, with a win, they have to go down as one of the toughest championship teams ever, seeing as this would be the third time in a 7 game series they were down 3-2 and came back to win. A loss will have everyone questioning Sheed's defensive blunder in game 5 as well as whether or not Larry Brown's off the court stories were a distraction to a team trying to defend a championship. Guess we'll find out in a little over an hour.

Being a MMA fan RRR, I'll enter the Puder-Angle deal as Exhibit A.

Rock is more of a mainstream star and Austin is more a wrestling star. Not to say Rock isn't a wrestling star, but in the wrestling world, Austin's drawing power was second to none. Rock is more marketable and versatile from a Hollywood standpoint. Hogan will always be more popular than Flair from a marks standpoint. However, amongst historian types, Flair will be remembered as greater for the fact that he could work better.

There is no way HHH and Tista are going longer than 25. I don't think Tista can physically go longer than 20-25 minutes max. If anything, I think they should cut to the chase and just have a 12-15 minute, brutality-on-a-stick fest as opposed to the usual HHH I-want-to-tell-a-story-thon that usually ends up in HHH and whoever telling a lame ass story.

Vince knows who ROH is. He probrably hasn't watched a full show or even a full match, but he knows about them. They have at least a mutual understanding of who is who and what is what. Go to the ROH website and you will see WWE shit sold there. If there was any bad blood between them like TNA, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to buy official WWE items and such. I think Vince lets them do what they do. As long as they don't get ahead of themselves or try to position themselves to become a real threat or competition, he probrably doesn't mind them existing.

Fishing for compliments aside... The draft isn't creating the same buzz because it's not new. They did it last year. The thing is, since no one (meaning marks) really distinguishes between the brands, it's not really big news that so and so is going here or there. When there was actual competition (WCW, ECW) when someone jumped, it came off like they were going to a different world. Here, they are going from WWE(a) to WWE(b) or vice versa. This is because, and I'll scream this until I am banned or die, the brand split isn't working in regards to creating something different from the other. Sure, guys are exclusive to one show or the other, but the formats for both shows remain the same. As for the ppv buzz for Vengeance, just take a look at what's on top. It's Episode III of a feud that had steam behind it at the end of 2004 and was starting to get it's legs cut from underneath before it could really get rolling as early as January, and now you are seeing the after effects. That, and everything was thrown together so quickly the last 2 weeks and the WWE title, which is supposed to be on par with Batista's title, is being fought over by JTTS's and a champ who is currently getting his legs cut out from underneath him.

LOTC, answer me this. Am I one of the 15?

The 3 way will work if the Marky Mark clone stays out of the short haired and long haired Canadian's way.

I am thinking Silva and Vovchanchyn will be in the finals of the GP. My darkhorse is "Shogun" Rua. Rog Nog may also spoil it some. I have zero faith in the native guys in this show to go all the way. Haven't seen Magomedov fight, but I heard he shouldn't be taken lightly. Kharitonov v. Rizzo should be damn good as well. Another great Pride show on paper. (I say that because the last show was great on paper, but ended up a bit disappointing. That's the trade off for legitimacy)

Excellent observation. One staple of Phil Jackson is that if you look at most of his rosters, he prefers older, more fundamentally sound players versus young, developing athletes. Shaq and Kobe were the work horses, but the Lakers peppered their teams with vets who were smart like Brian Shaw, Ron Harper, John Salley, Rick Fox, Robert Horry, etc. Same with the 2nd Bulls run of the 90's. One reason Jackson was able to deal with Rodman was besides that fact that he was a dirty work guy who didn't care if he got shots, he is one of the smartest players to ever play the game. Rodman got the intracacies of the Triangle offense in one training camp, whereas Tex Winter and Phil say that it takes most players a full year to year and a half to really start comprehending the complexity of the offense. The Bulls also liked more experienced guys like Longley, Harper, Kerr, Dele (yes he was a vet by the time he joined the Bulls), Buchler, etc. I bring up the 2nd Bulls run because when they ran the Triangle then, they used MJ as the low post guy who gets the trigger pass a lot versus the traditional center. If you look at games played in that time, you'll see MJ posting up quite a bit because in reality, he was the Bulls best low post player. Scottie would also take this "spot" as well and was effective in the post against certain players. (anyone versed or coached in the Triple Post offense knows what I mean by "spot")

Also, crowds were starting to get conditioned by the "hit the finisher out of nowhere" bit to where everyone kind of just sits on their hands not buying any of the lead up moves as the finish which lead to a lack of hot near falls. They'd just wait until the said finisher was executed before showing any signs of life. At least with a submission finisher, you have the possibility of a guy making the ropes for a break in the hold and with moves like the pedigree or Tista bomb, there is a long enough set up time or posturing that it can be countered to allow more time to build up to the finish.

So we know what that means... bob barron> DA Sure, whatever.

I might as well throw in my $.02, eh? (like any of you care) WWE Title Match Hell in a Cell Triple H Vs Batista Match wise, this will probrably not be good. Batista really needs to win this, especially if he is moving to SD as is the rumor. World Title Match Triple Threat Christian Vs John Cena Vs Chris Jericho Cena needs to step out of the way and let Christian and Jericho take him by the hand and hopefully pull a ***+ match out of him. In ring, it's possible, but Cena needs to let it happen. No way he loses the title unless WWE wants to cut his legs off as the only person with star quality in the last year, which wouldn't be a surprise from this creative bunch of geniuses. Shawn Michaels Vs Kurt Angle This should technically be good, but there is not buildup whatsoever, so I expect it to not be anywhere near as good as their WM match. If HBK wins here, I would really like it if they have a third match at Summerslam, perhaps 2 out of 3 falls, to finish the feud. Kane Vs Edge Match will be bad. Could be memorable if Matt Hardy was to show up. Since that isn't happening, this whole thing will suck. The problem with this match is, what are the concequences? If Edge win, then what? If Kane wins, then what? The outcome is insignificant, so the heat for this will be minimal. IC Title Shelton Benjamin Vs Carlito Caribbean Cool Speaking of not building matchups for ppv, here is a prime example. I like LOTC idea of Shelton losing again, going gangsta on CCC, and then jumping to SD, hopefully to feud with Benoit. Since this is WWE Creative we are dealing with, they'll probrably have Shelton lose, keep him on Raw. Not have anything for him to do for the next 2 months, then when he shows up finally and gets a minimal pop, Creative will scratch their heads as to why isn't Shelton getting over. As for Carlito, his strength is the mic, not in ring. So they'll probrably cancel the Cabana, have him wrestle long, business exposing matches, and then wonder why he isn't getting over. [rant over] Victoria Vs Christy Hemme Since WWE doesn't care about how the women are presented, why should I? I don't, especially these 2. Since I'm not watching the show anyways, I'll go ahead call my shot that at least 70% of you are taking a piss or food break during this drivel.

Again, I like seeing them get knocked down a peg. Simple as that. Because it doesn't have an effect on the sun coming up or down in my world is insignificant. I guess it's because I'm becoming a surly, ol' bastard in my age who still likes to exercise a 14 year old level of immaturity sometimes

I just don't like 'em. Sorry bob. I don't have a profound answer except I don't like them. Now, if they do succeed, I won't lose sleep or anything. My life doesn't revolve around their box office power or success. I just like seeing certain people get knocked down a peg or two.

I want any and all flicks starring Duff and Lohan to fail. Not to shit on you, bob, but I just can't stand these plastic gals with marginal acting ability.

I have to agree with Tim, pound for pound, The Wire is THE BEST HBO TV show I've ever seen, and I've seen them all. I thought it would be tough to best Sopranos and Six Feet Under, but The Wire is leaps and bounds better. Season 4 can't come soon enough.

I don't have a problem with Eric playing a tweener. What I do have a problem with is how much power does this guy have? After WM, there was a stage where HHH was able to make a match, but Eric couldn't. Explain that to me. They don't have perimeters for the GM characters. It's lame. They also really need to change Eric's theme music. As pointed out earlier in this thread, he's been back now for over 3 years. Speaking of theme music, I just have to bring this up, but they really have to stop with the entrance music and lighting when a person interupts. It comes off incredibly bad to me. I know I've heard the explanation of said person just heads to the gorilla position and says "Cue my entrance, I'm going out there" but that is just lame. Just come out and interupt the person. No need for an entrance. It's dumb.

I don't believe a word this broad is saying. She sounds very bitter and jealous, especially towards Amy Weber. Rochelle just comes off like trash.

Yes, NBT4:20, Andrew Bynum is in this draft. He, along with Gerald Green and Martell Webster are the high school guys who are probrably going to go in the first round. I like this trade for the Suns more than the Knicks. The Suns being able to move Amare back to 4 is huge. Plus Thomas has a great mid range game that will really open things up for Amare on the block one on one, where he is virtually unstoppable. KT also brings the tough to a team that gets the soft tag just because they run a lot. As for the Knicks, they now have a 3 guard rotation that could end up bickering over time. There may be potential trouble if Crawford or Q have a problem coming off the bench.

I don't even think Kash is going to WWE, much less Trinity. Only way Trinity is going to make it to WWE is if she mysteriously shows up next week during the Raw Diva Search.

While we are fantasy booking... If Haas were the one to come over, they could reunite TWGTT and have them defeat Hurricane and Rosey for the tag titles. That would leave Shelton with 2 belts. Then start you could have a "friendly" competition for the IC title, with Shelton winning the first match and Haas growing a bit jealous about it. The jealousy of not being able to defeat Benjamin would start the rift that will eventually split the team... meanwhile, the devastating loss of the tag titles changes Hurricane and Rosey from comic book hero faces to comic book villain heels. They could come off like arch criminals or something. It'd at least be a change of pace for them and hopefully catch on. Who knows?
