Way for Nick Dinsmore to evolve his character

Options on how to evolve Nick Dinsmore's character eh? How about not insulting my intelligence by having him do a bad impression of a retard? I swear WWE is fucking clueless on how to debut people. I am not opposed to characters, but a retard character? This is ridiculous. I'm banking it doesn't get over and won't draw a dime. Fuck Nick Dinsmore's character and fuck WWE creative for having him portray an intelligence insulting character.

    The OAO Hellboy Thread

I thought Hellboy was a fine movie. On an A thru F grade school grade, I'd put it as a solid B. Not deep enough to warrant an A, but not just some hokey average movie either.

    The OAO Hellboy Thread

I'm penciled in to see it tommorrow. I'll probrably have a review for it up on my site sometime this weekend. As for Walking Tall, I gotta hope I can get a friend to get me a download of it because there is no fucking way I lend my money for a third time to a lame ass Rock movie. Fool me once, shame on you (Scorpion King), fool me twice, shame on me (Rundown). NEVER AGAIN, ROCK!!

    NOAH's first Tokyo Dome show...

Kobashi has faced Akiyama more than several times one on one before the NOAH/AJPW split. Kobashi/Akiyama also headlined a major NOAH show on 12/23/00 in a decent match right around ***'s. They've also seen action against each other in 6 man tags and were the main story in a memorable Captain's Fall match sometime last year.

    NOAH's first Tokyo Dome show...

Thank goodness NOAH didn't completely lose their minds like NJPW did and book Kobashi vs Bob Sapp, which was rumored to be the main event for this show a couple of months ago. Kobashi vs Akiyama should be good to decent at least. Problem I have is beyond the main event and the NOAH juniors, I don't see the rest of the card shaping up to be anything special.

    TOAO Walking Tall thread

This was my exact problem with Rundown. I expect a little more for my buck than just Rock's swagger to justify my money going to the box office. Walking tall actually seems even dumber than Rundown. The only good thing about Rundown was you saw Rock's potential, but that is not enough to even justify a matinee dollar out of me. Again, I don't think Rock's movies are very good, IMO.

    NOOOO!!!!!!

Tenzan wasn't supposed to have the title in the first place. According to the Observer, Nagata was slated to win the IWGP title tournament in February, but was injured in his match against Tenzan. So they changed the booking to Tenzan winning the belt. Why they had Kensuke win the title off of Tenzan instead of Sapp, I have no idea. The whole thing with the tourney was to get the title on someone because Nakamura was injured and they wanted it on a good worker like Nagata who could possibly carry a load like Sapp to a passable match. The end result of all of this is to get the title on Sapp the best way possible, which is insanity in and of itself.

The OaO 2003-2004 NBA Season Thread!

As a Kings fan, I will admit they are in big fucking trouble right now. They've dropped 5 of their last 8, including to Milwaukee at Arco where an Eastern Conference opponent hasn't won since forever. Webber is still trying to work his body and game into the offense and the Kings are just flat out not rebounding the ball. Tonight they couldn't put the ball in the hole in the first 3 quarters and it was good night from there, but the other losses have me greatly concerned. Losing to LA in LA is one thing, but some of these other losses is something else. Kings better shape up or they are looking at a first round exit from one of these young upstart teams like Memphis or Denver.

    Rumored Episode 3 title

Speculation folks. Nothing to see here. I ain't bitching until an official title is released. You folks should do the same.

    John Cena

Cena has this really cool trick that he does. You see, he knows how to pop a crowd and the crowd THAT IS THERE likes him and reacts to him like he's a star. Problem is, he means shit for business. While he excells in knowing how to work a crowd with an easy gimmick to get over, he doesn't sell tickets (no one on either roster is doing this as well) and he isn't bringing in any new viewers. The only time I believe in pops is when it means something for business. Right now, Cena is pulling a Hogan. He can manipulate the crowd to love him, but when it comes right down to it, he isn't making the company any money. Could he be a draw in the future? Sure, but not right now. Not with ass-fucked storylines and Cena's lack of ability in the ring. Cena has exactly one match above three stars (vs. Angle@ No Mercy). In the ring, he is on par with Randy Orton. There, I said it. People should treat Cena like 7-Up. Don't let the smooth taste fool you.

Update on Paul Heyman's future in WWE

Hopefully it's so slow that it never happens. I would rather have no ECW than a watered down, half-assed, neutered version of it. If you think Vince will let Heyman have the control he needs to run his vision of ECW, you are all smoking fat rocks.

    OAO trade/new GM reaction thread

Exactly how does prove what you are saying, genius? Please come at us with some evidence before uttering out something ignorant. Why can't you accept the fact that perhaps Vince is just incompetent and gutless? Or that guys that are close to Vince like HHH, Taker, and Austin are in Vince's ear and pretty much have creative carte blanche over their angles, as well as input towards others? Sorry, but I like to dabble in a little thing called fact. Not masturbate in rampant speculation. Last I checked, Vince was the one who still calls all the shots in the end. Bring a source or some credibility next time if you want to knock me off my pedestal.
  15. Not only can I see him give Steph that position, but I can see him do it with no explanation. WWE doesn't give a shit about things like quality control or fans who may be able to remember things from 6 months ago.

    Theory on the Hardy Burial

Off topic a little, but Kurt Angle is not 6'2. No way. No how. I've stood next to him at a house show when he paused and slapped hands in the aisleway. I'm 5'10 and I was the same height, shit maybe even a smidge taller. Kurt Angle is not 6"2.

This is what I get for not watching...

Psycho heel Victoria comes off forced. It made her look retarded standing at the ramp, pretending she's crazy and pulling on her hair. Just awful stuff and I care not to relive it again. What the fuck am I talking about? It's a fucking lame ass WWE women's wrestler. They get less respect from Vince and Co. than the Cruisers. Why should I give 2 fucks if Victoria is face or heel?
  18. Dangerous A

What's next for Kurt and Eddie?

It can be a battle over who is master of the anklelock. First man TO ACTUALLY DO some ankle work to lead to the anklelock will be declared the winner. Running match time before either man figures it out: 2 hours.
  19. DA's thoughts on WM XX -Cena vs Big Show sucked. So did Cena's opening promo. I think Cena was over excited because instead of coming out all casual bad ass, he was acting like he was hopped up on meth and looking like a jack ass instead. Match sucked. While Cena is more over than Orton (and that's just because Cena's gimmick is easier to pull off) he is just as bad in the ring. Match was *1/2 at best. -4 way Raw tag title match wasn't offensive, but not good either. I can't fault the guys since they were given about 4 minutes to just execute their spots and get the fuck out of the ring. Did Jindrak or Cade even get tagged in? Who cares, the tin that represents the tag belts on both brands is worth donkey shit. **(and that's being nice) -Christian vs Jericho was ok. Around **1/2-**3/4 ish. They only fucked up one spot on the top ropes, and that was minor. While Trish turning is another ill advised turn of one of WWE's faces, I like evil Trish. Hopefully now that she's had some experience, she can pull off being a heel better. Perhaps this could be a push for Christian with sidekick evil Trish, but I'm not holding my breath. -Evolution vs Rock and Sock. Eh. Not that great. One funny spot here does not make this a good match. The storytelling of Evolution having the advantage was lost on me since Rock and Mick would just knock all 3 guys out of the loop and they didn't give them much to work with, IMO. Orton coming out of nowhere to win was ok. Foley really needs to do a one on one match and job to Orton to really put him over. Exactly how does Orton get put over pinning Foley in a 3 on 2 handicap match? Answer: he doesn't. **3/4 -Playboy evening gown match. Ugh. If T and A is your thing when you plunk down $50.00 for a pay per view that is supposed to feature wrestling is your thing, you got your wish. I at least appreciated them changing the rules to where you pin your opponent instead of ripping the gowns off first. They kept it short is the one good thing I'll say about this. DUD -CW Open. Lame. Fucking lame. I understand the time constraints, but if time was the issue, then just have Chavo defend against Rey or whoever the CW flavor of the month is. Don't jack us with Funaki's 2 second appearance and Tajiri's man being taken out by fucking mist. Highspot monkey spooge is what this was. * -Goldberg vs Lesnar. This was too weird. Oddly enough, I actually appreciated that Goldberg at least put some effort into his performance, although I'm not sure if he would've if he was going to job. Brock can go fuck himself for all I care. At least try in your last match. He basically worked with Goldberg like he did with Holly at the Rumble. Austin didn't help much either and you could tell he didn't want to be there once the crowd got all smarkish on the guys. Fuck him, he deserves it, along with the beer can to the eye. That was beautiful. Match was -* in workrate, but ****'s for sheer enigmatic purposes. This was off the wall odd. -SD title match. This sucked 7 different types of ass. And the champs sucked about 5 of those asses. I laughed my ass off when Scotty and Rikishi did their Too Cool schtick after the match in damn near total silence. That was gold. Hey fuckheads, 2000 called and asked if you could stop doing the same gimmick. It's old. The belts need to be taken off these clowns, now. Then again, the belts mean shit, so who cares. * -Molly vs Victoria. Another worthless piece of tin, although I do like both women. I especially like Victoria since she stopped the hair pulling schtick, at least for one night. Besides the worm, Victoria pulling her hair out at the entrance is one of the worse signature gestures in the business. I comes off so contrived and Victoria over does it. Molly does not deserve this. I agree with AS, she should quit, at least until her hair grows back. But by then, there may not be a women's division.(Crosses fingers and hopes there will be no more women's division) *1/2 -Eddie vs Angle. This suffered from the crowd being restless because the show was sucking fat meat missle up until this point. I feel bad because Angle started to throw psyche out the window in exchange for trying to get the crowd going again. Point was when Eddie did two suplexes in a row and Angle pops up out of nowhere and gets the anklelock. I expect a little better from a world class worker, but then again, the crowd was dead until this match. Finish was unique and well executed. I will disagree with AS here and hope these guys continue to feud. ***1/2 -Taker vs Kane. Lame. They dropped the ball with the return of the deadman. I see some smarks points about Taker coming back in the same form he was buried in and such, but he was advertised as the deadman, and I got the feeling that some, not all, were disappointed. Match sucked a bunch. * -Three way for the title. Match of the Night, IMO. Benoit and HBK did what they had to do and HHH actually dialed it up a notch and wasn't horrible. I felt bad for these guys too because you could see points where the crowd was supposed to pop at points for certain parts of the match, but they didn't like HBK. It was awkward to see when HHH and HBK suplexed Benoit thru the table and HBK do the finger point bit with HHH, the crowd was supposed to eat that up with a spoon, and they rejected it because they were not behind Michaels. At all. This crowd wanted someone fresh to win and they got just that. Ending was picture perfect, both the finish of the match as well as Eddie coming in to put both belts on par with each other (something HHH refused to do). However, because the crowd wasn't into this as much as they should've been, this gets dialed down to ***3/4.
  20. Uh, it sucked. So did most of the card, save for the World and WWE title matches. If I want to see the Divas in their underwear, I'll order one of their magazines or go to their website and see all the gratuitous ass I can handle. Since the event is called Wrestlemania, I'll say the lingerie match sucked.

    The New Undertaker

He is no longer the Undertaker. Lets think of new names. When I first saw him, I thought he was a fucking cowboy. How about Underado? El DoTaker? WWE dropped the ball on bringing back "The Dead Man".

    WWE Hall Of Fame

Vince isn't the Devil himself, but he is far from a noble person. He doesn't honor contracts(Bret's "creative control" in his final contract, WWF turnin into WWE anybody), helped Jimmy Snuka cover up the murder of his girlfriend, and turned a blind eye while his employees Terry Garvin and Pat Patterson sexually abused ring boys in the early nineties, (Vince eventually "fired" both men, but Patterson was back on the payroll in less than 6 months, leading many to believe he wasn't really fired in the first place) and only took action once things went public. Other than that, Vince is a lock for sainthood.

    WWE Hall Of Fame

I never said Vince didn't offer them an invitation. My point is that at least 2 of them were (Sammartino, Hart) were invited and declined. (not sure about Backlund) Those 2 are THE most important wrestlers of their era, yet they declined to show. The reason being is because Vince doesn't have the greatest relationships with his star guys for one reason or another. Since this Hall of Fame is a sham anyways, it's not like any of those guys are going to lose sleep because they didn't get in. I expect the Hall to be used as a storyline gimmick sometime soon anyways, thus killing any reverence it may seem to have.
  24. How about they give us a treat and not have any of the useless "GM" characters show up, period. What can Heyman or Bischoff possibly offer to a match except ruin it with token interference? Personally I'd love it if they fired both their asses, but I know that ain't going to happen because WWE needs their figurehead crutch when going about writing their storylines.

    WWE Hall Of Fame

I find it interesting that 4 of the top superstars to ever step in a ring didn't make it for one reason or another. (Hogan, Sammartino, Hart, Backlund) Vince just knows how to have wonderful employer-employee relationships, doesn't he?
