Ooh, tonight on ESPN. Preseason action before the regular season begins. Spurs vs Rockets followed by Lakers vs Kings. Although these are still preseason games and won't mean dick, the starters minutes will increase as the coaches start to tighten up the lineups.

Injury updates. Ray Allen expected to miss first 2 games of the season with bad foot. Jamal Mashburn expected to miss first 2 weeks of the season with an injury.

I'm not that big of a wings fan. Not enough meat for me and I don't want to rifle through 40 of them just to satisfy my appetite. They are tasty though.

Personally, I don't have issue with a OAO NBA thread either. They had a Buffy thread go on for 2 seasons or so and it's now considered a classic.

Alright, now we're up to 21 players and counting. If we can get a good 30-40 players in our league, that'd be ok with me.

This is huge. And not in a good way for the Heat. If this was a spur of the moment thing, its fucked up because the players have already gone through training camps and preseason with Riley and now they have to adjust to a whole new coach. I'd bet it'll probrably be one of Riley's assistants, but still, I've had mid season coaching changes when I played organized and even if the same system is implemented, the way it's taught will be different and there'll be an adjustment period.

How is Walker a better defender than Malone? Malone is a 3 time All NBA Defensive First Teamer. Walker could only dream of making a third team, All Defense. I do think that there may be some chemistry problems at first with the Lakers, but if egos can get checked, they'll hit stride around January or February at the latest. The thing I am most worried about is the star power. If you think the Lakers got away with things on defense the last 4 years, it's gonna get worse this year. They are going to get calls left and right. I started to see it in last night's game. With around 17 seconds left, the Clips were trying to inbound the ball and the refs called a push off foul on Jaric over Payton. It was the wussiest push call I've seen in awhile. Laker haters need to be most worried about the murder they are going to get away with on the defensive side of the ball.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, they lost a ton of talent and got little in return. I liked Jamison. He was a good fit in Oakland. Now you get the potentially cancerous Nick Van Exel. You also lost Gilbert Arenas, one of the future stars of this league, to free agency. Your only hope is that Dunleavy steps up big and Troy Murphy continues to build on what he did last year. The Kings are going to be hurting a bit through December. Their bench isn't as deep as the previous 2 years. Bibby has to step up or he's going to get skunked by the Sac faithful (me being one of them). Stojakovic, Jackson, and Miller should keep the Kings in games until Webber can come back.

Around here, there are tons of mexican food stands and places that are tons better than fucking taco bell. NoCalMike can attest there is nothing better than an order of carne asada fries to go with a horchata on a warm summer day. I can tell you that Baja Fresh and Dos Coyotes are better as well, even though those places are considered a little more uppity. To answer the original post question... Del Taco > Taco Bell.

The Clips have potential. The problem with potential is it means you haven't done shit yet. I do like what I saw in Bobby Simmons. If he hits a protein shake or two, he could turn out very nicely. I like Eddie House coming off the bench for the Clips. That guy is a gunner. Kaman showed some good stuff as well. He needs to get a dietician. If he sheds some of that bodyfat and gets some guns, he could be hell to deal with someday.

There is an easy way around the Laker love, fellas. Just don't respond to it. Post about other things going on in the league. Exactly how did RVD look strong? He needed Booker T and Test to interfere to help him win. That is not strong. I am not blaming Rock for this, but one thing Vince and Co. did not do is make RVD look strong during the Invasion. They did everything in their power to make him look weak. Rock had a watchable match with RVD and that is all. Pulling someone to a watchable match a strong person does not make.

I understand the context you used the HHH speak in, Game. My indictment wasn't with you, I merely pointed out that CWM pointed out that HHH speak had been done a million times. After reading his quote, I went off on a mini rant about how ANYONE on TSM is a nimrod when they try to be funny using HHH speak. The whole HHH-uh bit is about as funny as an abortion. I see your points as part of the equation. I also see VINCE blowing the Invasion angle and the chance to create a believable brand split. The Invasion was when HHH was out of action. That was all on Vince. Vince also could've changed who went over in those feuds with Angle, Jericho, and Benoit, but he didn't. Also, Austin feuded with all 3 of those guys, yet he doesn't get shit for burying. Now I know he had good matches with Benoit and Angle (not Jericho) but he didn't put them over either.

While I have no love for Gowen, my vote went to Mr America. A lame costume to go along with arguably the dumbest fucking gimmick this year.
