I know I misquoted the wrong post, Parka.

That's a damn good team, HQ. I may have to consider what you have. I just can't resist Duncan's potential numbers against the weak interior of the Suns. Stoudamire is good and all, but he can't hold Duncan.

Dont trip, Cappa. Let's just get something in tonight. We'll get things really moving at the ppv.

    Nash's carrer in jeopardy!

Why don't Nash and Austin apply to be agents and stay the fuck off camera? We don't need to see you glory hogs taking camera time away from talent you want to bury. The talent needs camera time to get over, not Austin and Nash pummeling them which does nothing because the person can't get revenge on them in the ring. Memo to Nash and Austin: GO THE FUCK AWAY!!!!!

    ~The Official MMA News Thead~

I have to say that I'm not feeling the next UFC card. With Sylvia testing positive and probrabaly having to forfeit the title, I don't have any interest in an interim heavyweight champ. I am however interested in Pride Middleweight GP finals. I see it like Bas saw it. Silva getting an easy win from Yoshida and Jackson going through a war, with a rested Silva beating a worn down Jackson. I am not touching Nog vs Cro Cop with a ten foot pole. You'd figure Nog would have Mario Sperry training him properly for the awesome standup of Cro Cop. I sincerely don't know who to pick for that fight. I wonder what other fights will be on the Pride card?

    Best Tag Team of 2003.

I guess this thread should be retitled best US tag team because WGTT, Los Guerreros, XXX, and AMW can't hold a stick to what Naomichi Marufuji and KENTA have done this year.

    Better Steve Austin fued?

What's the criteria for this question? If you mean business wise, it's Austin vs McMahon hands down. If you mean what feud produced the best matches, it's Austin vs Hart. If you mean which feud was more entertaining, there are arguments for Austin vs Hart and vs Rock. You need to set parameters for these kind of questions, you know.

    Smartmarks VGM fantasy league

Whoo hoo, our league is up to 12 players now!! I hope you know I'll be on top for most, if not all the way and I anticipate I will make the leaderboard as well. (for those of you not in the know, making the leaderboard means you are in the top 50 players playing the game in the world. I made the leaderboard in the second half of last season for several days before I hit a dry spell)

    Fire Austin!

Give this man a prize. Fuck Austin and all the stupid ass GM/Commish roles. They are useless. No one pays money to see a GM come out and talk. These roles do not draw anything, period. Is Austin entertaining? Sure he is. So is Dusty Rhodes (in a weird sort of way) That doesn't mean I want to see Dusty go over all the talent. Austin's neck is fucked and he is done. Plus, I don't want to see him face Jericho anyway. The last match they had at No Way Out 2002 was a * star match and sucked the meat missle because Austin wouldn't give Jericho anything in the match. It was heatless and they shouldn't wrestle again.

    Fantasy Football

Whoo hoo. Team 2000 with another win, albeit from the worse team record wise. And I'm feeling pretty good about Marshall Faulk coming back. I am fucked this week though. No Coles, Gardner, or Betts.

    Fantasy NBA League?

I rejected your trade, Alfdogg. Not gonna work for me. You've got to give something to get something. I see you are trying to give me Bobby Jackson and Michael Finley for Steve Francis and Mike Miller. You are gonna have to sweeten that deal up. Jackson doesn't even start and averages about 12-13 ppg off the bench while Finley's numbers will go down now that the Mavs have too many gunners. In return you are asking me for Francis, the top guard on Houston and their best stat guy and Miller, the number one option at the guard spot in Memphis. No way. Throw me a better proposal with Zach Randolph or something and we'll talk.

Oh I'm Just Love How they treat Stacy

Give this man a prize. I was saying that last week. But I guess it's ok now after this week because Stacy was wrong all along. You'd better do what Ol' Stone Cold says or he'll whack you a good one. Just ask Debra.

    WWE news from the Observer

Here are some news bits from the 10/20/03 Observer -Next movie rumored for Rock is Terminator 4. Apparantly there have been meetings to do this even though T3 was slightly disappointing. (grossing around 150 mill) Arnold said he won't do moview for the next several years and suggested Rock for the role. The talks were to do release in the summer of 2005, which would mean work would be done next year. -A deal has been finalized for Rock to star in combo with cartoon and live characters in a comedy called "Instant Karma". He'll play a safe cracker who dies, and is reincarnated as a series of animals. It is a New Line Cinema project with a $70 million budget and will start filming in April. Because he has another committment for earlier in the spring, it makes his chances of him working Mania a long shot. -HHH is scheduled to get married next week, take a 2 week honeymoon, and be back on TV and house shows for a few weeks to build for Survivor Series and then goes back to filming his second movie. -Survivor Series on 11/16 in Dallas at this point looks to be Goldberg vs HHH, Vince vs Taker in a buried alive match, and Kane vs Shane in some sort of gimmick match. (yeah, more McMahon-0-Mania, nice to see they aren't going away anytime soon) -Bobby Heenan talked with Vince last week, basically telling him his health is good and he is interested in doing something and brought up wanting to do Mania. Vince told him, "I'll see you at Wrestlemania, if not sooner". They casually talked about some sort of television role.(crosses fingers and prays Heenan takes Lawler's spot) There has also been talk of Heenan working the TNA big show with one idea being as ref for Hogan vs Jarrett. Thoughts or comments?

    Celts: Twan Gone

Walker, Jamison, and Finley's fantasy values just took a bit of a dive. I can see that there may be too much firepower here. I remember the Blazers of 2000 had the best roster from 1-12 and they weren't the best TEAM in basketball, the Lakers were. That was because the Lakers had role players who were willing to accept less. Time will tell if the Mavs will be able to adjust.

    Celts: Twan Gone

Where are you reading about Arenas making the Wizards a playoff team? Anybody with half a brain can look at the Wizards roster and see that that squad is going nowhere. Arenas will have the chance to have better numbers in Wash. because he will have the ball on every posession and will be the primary playmaker now that Stackhouse is out indef. Arenas is also the nice age of 21. He still has a ton of room to grow. Walker's game hasn't really changed that much from 3 years ago and he's topped off. Everyone already knows what you get with him. I can see Walker and Jamison clashing for minutes and touches. That is my opinion.

    The new Smackdown GM

Why can't it be no one? Fuck the commish/GM roles. This is stupid. Why do we have to have an authority figure push the action. Why not just announce matches at the beginning of every show and go from there. The GM roles cut into skit, match, and interview time that could be given to wrestlers who need it to get over. Wrestlers get over when they get the chance to shine, not from the "rub" that they get from GM's. Not one wrestler has been given the rub and turned into a main player by a GM role. Not one.

    Celts: Twan Gone

I am not sure about this deal on both ends. The last thing the Mavs need is ANOTHER 3 point shooter who needs the ball in his hands to make anything happen. Walker's game isn't one that gets people involved and such. He jacks up threes and when he's motivated, he'll rebound. Not what the Mavs needed. They needed a bruising PF or Center and got a smooth, perimeter happy forward who is going to complain when he doesn't get touches. If that happens, there may be chemistry problems. I thought the Lakers would have the bigger adjustment/chemistry problems, but the Mavs may have surpassed them with this move. The good thing is the Mavs finally picked up a backup point with Delk. When the Mavs lost Van Exel and Raja Bell in the off season, they had no backup for Nash. Now with Delk, they get a guy who can competantly backup the point. For the Celts, this is just odd. Raef LaFrentz is an underachiever. However he is capable of putting up decent numbers like he did in Denver. For some reason, he didn't fit in with what the Mavs were doing. If he can return to Denver form, this could help the Celts tremendously. The other players involved in this deal are basically just throw ins. I heard the deal was also to help alleviate some cap room for the Mavs since this is Walkers contract year and Ainge has been looking to dump him since he got here. We'll just have to wait and see. Also, there is a one and only free agent and trade thread and thread should have gone there. Just saying.

    TNA bits from the Observer

Here are some bits from the Observer regarding TNA... -Latest on the 11/30 ppv is that the working idea now is to do it from the Nashville Fairgrounds. The reason is that it's cheaper and they only have to fill up 1300 seats. Hogan is against doing it in such a small venue. The company has had talks with The Orleans in Las Vegas, which has a 7000 seat arena, but nothing is concrete yet. The Nashville Auditorium which houses 9000 has also been talked about. -The only other match talked about for 11/30 is doing a second Ultimate X match involving AJ Styles, Michael Shane, and Chris Sabin. The idea is after Styles loses the NWA title to Jarrett on 10/22, barring changes, he'll be made into the star of the X division to give it more marquee power. -The storyline they are working on for Hogan besides playing off of Bash at the Beach 2000 is that he is coming back for his childhood dream of winning the NWA title, the biggest major title he has never held. -They are hoping to get Sting and Piper on the show, but neither deal is finalized and Randy Savage has been seriously talked about but since he has heat with Hogan, it doesn't stand much of a chance. -There was more Dutch Mantel influence on the show this week. The 10/15 show is said to be the last show with Russo and Gilberti writing the original draft, which Mantel, Jarrett, and Scott D'Amore then edit. Starting 10/22, Mantel is supposed to be the main writer with Jarrett as his editor.

    The new Smackdown GM

You should be given a prize. We don't need GM's/Vice President/Co Owner/authority figure roles anymore. Why do we need them to push the action? Why not just schedule matches and let the wrestlers and the matches do the action pushing? This retarded template of using an authority figure to make things spin in wrestling is a relic from Russocity. It's dated and needs to be eliminated from the shows in place of something new and fresh. GM's are stale and no longer entertaining. They don't draw ratings or money or buyrates. Fuck Austin, Bischoff, Steph, Vince, and any other stupid ass goddamn role that is like a GM!

Can WM XX exist without Hogan?

The Observer's top story for this coming monday's issue (I live only 3 1/2 hours away from where it is distibuted so I get my issue on friday!) it says that people in the wrestling business believe that WM XX will not exist without Hogan. Hogan has maneuvered himself into a nice position because he is going to do TNA in november and that is supposed to lead into that group possibly scoring a TV deal. This also puts Goldberg in the catbird seat because he becomes a free agent at the end of March and if Hogan and Goldberg were attached to an alternative wrestling project as the top 2 stars, the project may get off the ground. The questions here are... 1) Can WWE do WMXX without Hogan? 2) Will Vince bring Hogan back in time for WMXX so he can kill TNA's chances of getting bigger since Vince has vowed to not work with Hogan since he walked out on their program this last summer?
