Dangerous A

I have hated tomatoes, fish, and seafood since I was little. I was told when I got older, my taste buds would come around and I'd eventually like them. I've given them all shots throughout my life here and there and still do not like any of the 3 foods I listed. Again, I think it's just me.

I don't eat seafood or fish, period. It's just me, I can't stand them. Same with tomatoes.

All I can say about the Rundown is this. Eh. It wasn't bad by any stretch, but not great neither. This was a perfect fall action movie type. (although fall is death to the box office) Not too flashy, yet just enough to keep a pulse. I see where everyone sees Rock's potential as an action star. I like his action appeal more than Vin Diesel's. However on it's own, the Rundown was average in my opinion. I'd rate it around **1/2's.

Well since Meltzer and Bret himself have said that he won't wrestle ever again, that is good enough for me. The best any of you can hope for is a Bret appearance at WMXX, perhaps a promo. But that fool ain't getting in the ring. Ever.

Folks, this notion needs to get out of your heads right now. Bret suffered a serious stroke where he could've died. He has just recently learned to walk within the last 8 months and is slowly learning to do things like ride a bike and drive a car. He isn't going to wrestle at WMXX. Dream about it all you want, it ain't happening. If you want to dream about Angle vs Bret, take it to the fantasy booking forums, please.

I think we should have a new thread pinned with the order people are drafting in and how many rounds it goes. It should then be updated daily with whatever picks were made so that later on in the rounds, we know who is and isn't left on the board. It'll work better than reading through all the pages to see if the guy you want has been picked or not.

Actually WM and Summerslam buyrates since Backlash 2001 have been very good. It's the other shows that have suffered tremendously since WM17. The reason Goldberg and RVD aren't over as ratings/buyrate draws is incompetent writing and booking, not because of their talents or lack of charisma.

There is a difference between being over as a crowd pleaser and being over in regards to getting people to watch you. Goldberg and RVD can get the live crowd behind them. They are charismatic and unique enough that most crowds will pop for them when they see them. However, these 2 guys do not draw ratings. They get the people who are already there watching into things, but they do not get other people to watch/buy ppv's. If Dusty Rhodes came back to WWE for one shot, he'd be over. He knows how to work and pop a crowd. However he will not draw any NEW viewers to the table. He will not get people to fork over $35.00 for a ppv to see him wrestle. Same with Goldberg. He pops the crowd, but look at the numbers. Buyrates are shit with him and he hasn't drawn any higher numbers in ratings since he's been on board. There is a difference between being over with the current crowd that is going to go to WWE shows regardless of how bad the product is and being over in regards to drawing more viewers to watch your television shows and buy ppvs.

Poor Matt. He's gonna get his ass handed to him. Don't get me wrong. What Holly did was fucked up and it violated the trust wrestlers are supposed to have with one another, but he's going to get murdered by Holly.

Goldberg pops the crowd, but he isn't over as a draw for buyrates or ratings.

I don't hate HHH as much as your average HHHater, but I don't like him much either. I feel he still has one good thing left to do before he hopefully goes away and that's elevate the next ME'er to be a star. The trick is to get him to put a guy over before they are ruined by the awful writing and booking. HHH put Goldberg over clean and all, but by the time he did it, irrepairable damage had already been done to him by booking him to look like shit.

Raw w/out HHH has 1) An Unover Goldberg as champ 2) Shane vs Kane with Shane getting the better of the feud as the top program 3) Austin, a non wrestler, getting the better of anyone who crosses his path. 4) Nash returning into a top spot against Goldberg 5) The building up of Randy Orton, who most believe is not ready for the spot he's being groomed for I could go on, but this is just beating my head against the wall. Raw w/out HHH will suck just as hard. It's just the HHHaters will somehow try to make like Raw is better with no HHH. Raw w/ HHH = Raw w/out HHH

That sucks for DMX. Grand Champ is his best album since the first one, IMO.

Amen Brother Rant. Amen. I too, am a thief. Not on the scale of downloading whole albums and making and getting bootlegged movies and I've never stolen cable before but I have dabbled in theft and am subject to whatever fines and penalties they carry. I agree that some people need to fess up that what they are doing is stealing, plain and simple.

Vince deserves praise and grief. The product you see on your television screen is his vision. Yes, writers do have some impact on that vision, but he has the final say in what makes it on tv and what doesn't. In Wrestling Observer's from the past, Meltzer even says that Vince has actually (gasp) vetoed ideas Steph has had that were both good and bad. Vince is final edit of the tv scripts and main event angles. He is the one you want. Steph and Shane have influence on him, that's for sure, but Vince is the one who has the power to say no. Vince McMahon's vision of wrestling is scarily close to Vince Russo's. That's why the same template for the format of both shows is still the same from 1997. It's opening match promo, skit, match, skit, skit, commercial, skit, match, promo, etc. If McMahon could do what he does with even less wrestling, he would.

My picks are Silva over Yoshida via ref stoppage in about 3:00 or less. Jackson over Lidell via split decision. If this were to happen, you'd have a built in storyline of a top American Pride guy having defeated a top UFC guy going into Pride's first US produced PPV. I am personally pulling for Jackson, but I think Silva is coming out with this. I have nothing against Silva mind you. Jackson's badassness gets the better of me, plus he'd be huge here in the US. Silva however, has the path of least resistance.

For me, it was a little over a year ago around the time he jumped from SD to Raw. I didn't mind his feud with HBK so much, but his selfishness in not putting over RVD around this time last year was the turning point for me. While I am not a big fanboy of RVD's work, I do realize the potential he has for getting a crowd behind him and the way he, along with Kane and Booker were buried was just wrong. I will admit to liking him starting from his heel turn at WM 15 all the way up until the time I just mentioned about a year ago.

You folks that are hating HHH should be hitting your knees and praying to whatever god it is you pray to that HHH makes it in Hollywood. If he makes it there, then he won't be on your tv fucking up Raw. (although Raw is going to suck balls without him as well) With all the injuries he's had in the last 2 years, I could see HHH staying in Hollywood trying to be an actor. Let him succeed there, dammit. It's much easier to avoid him at a theatre than if he's on tv.
