He was thinking "By the power of Greyskull, I am HHHe-Man!!"

Don't let them tell you one brand is more dominant than the other. They are both on equal footing, I tell you!

Team England being out of the World X Cup fucking sucks and I've had it with Team Canada.
-
Can't say yes on the dinuguan. I've heard of it, but haven't had it. I've had puto (ok) and leche flan (pretty good). Can't say yes to the rest of it, although I may have had them, just that I don't remember the names because my mother (her side is Filipino) and her siblings would just shove food in my face and say eat it and I wouldn't ask what it was, I'd just down it.

I think Hogan would try his bag of tricks to steal the crowd, but Austin is pretty smart to that kind of thing and it would be fun to see Hogan try something and Austin counter it. I just think both men are too savvy. I could possibly see Hogan agree to job, but try to steal the heat at the end a la WM6 and WM18, but Austin pull something out to where that wouldn't happen.
-
Personally, I don't think they are going to do Austin vs Hogan. If I'm wrong, then I'm cool with that because I'd like to see that match. However, I just don't think they can come up with a finish either man can agree to. If one guy needed more money than the other, I could see someone caving in, but I just don't see either man agreeing to job to the other. They are too fiercely protective of their characters.

I don't think so.

Credit PWTorch... Kurt Angle spoke with a group of print and radio reporters. Q. You’ve had some injuries in your career, even before you got to WWE with your neck. Why do you still keep going? Why do you do it? A. "One is I get a lot of self satisfaction out of going out there and performing in front of the fans. Something that was missing for three years after the Olympics. I wasn’t finished being an athlete when I retired at the young age of 26 as an amateur wrestler. But due to my neck injury, I didn’t think I was going to be able to do anything else, having a broken neck in 1996. So I let it heal for three years and not telling Vince McMahon I had chronic neck problems, joined the WWE and found myself in the same position here. Throughout my career, I never told Vince until one day I couldn’t lift my arm and that’s the time I let the cat out of the bag. It was about four years later. I’ve had reoccurring next injuries. I actually have one right now. I have a broken neck, levels C7, T1, but I continue to wrestle. Because I love it. Because of the fans. Is it worth my health? No, but I’m addicted to wrestling. I’ve done it my whole life. 27 years, including amateur wrestling. So I’ll continue to wrestle as long as I can. I hate to say it, but you see some of these old timers that can barely walk. God forbid, but I picture myself being like that some day, because I refuse to quit. Vince McMahon is literally going to have to fire me in order for me to stop wrestling. Is about the money? No, it’s about the money. I really love to go out there and perform for the fans and put on the best matches. I do it most of the time if not all of the time. Shawn Michaels calls himself the show stealer. I agree with him. But I’m right up there with him." Q. Can you explain the psychology that goes into planning a one-on-one match as opposed to a triple threat match like you’ll have Sunday? A. "One-on-one, the psychology is simple. You’ve got one against the other and you find a way of telling a story in that match. Triple threat, there really isn’t much psychology, because you can’t really tell a story with the three guys. It’s more of an exciting, acrobatic wrestling match. It’s not a storytelling match so much as it is more action-packed. Instead of watching a drama, you’re watching an action movie. No better than Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio. It’s like a dream come through for me. Having an athlete like Rey Mysterio in that match with me just enhances my match. I’m just looking forward to keeping the title and moving on to my next opponent. This is the moment where I can still and make history at Wrestlemania as having one of the greatest matches of all time. I plan on doing that and I will." Q. Are you guys going on last Sunday or is Hunter and Cena going last? A. "There is no decision yet, but I’d imagine being a singles match they will probably go on last. But it doesn’t matter to me. They’re both great main events. They won’t have a better match than we will, but being a one-on-one, it’s more of a focus on that story. It’s really much harder to tell the story in a triple threat match even on TV week after week. Because you have Kurt Angle going after Rey but Rey’s going after Randy and Randy’s going after me. Then I’m going after Randy and Randy’s going after Rey. Those two BUTT heads. So there’s more of a deeper story there." Q. What about Wrestlemania brings all these people here? A. "They know that the athletes, the performers are going to go above and beyond what they normally do. Not only do they put their bodies on the line, they also put their health on the line. They put their lives on the line. They call them Wrestlemania moments because we do things we normally don’t do and probably shouldn’t do. We kind of stick our necks out. Sometimes we stick ‘em out too far. But that’s because the fans come to see you. The company breaks records with PPV sales and that’s why the athletes do what they do. It’s the biggest event of all time and every year it gets bigger. So we do bigger things. The bigger it gets, the bigger we become, the bigger things we do. And god forbid we get hurt." Q. Do you feel a need to one-up at Wrestlemania each year? A. "It’s going to be hard one-up my Shawn Michaels match. With Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton, two of the youngest, most talented wrestlers in our company, me being the old man of the group, it’ll be really good. We all have great chemistry. Rey and I have had some classic matches. Randy Orton and I still have matches to come, but we’re all looking forward to it. You look at the triple threat match a few years ago with Benoit and Triple H and HBK, and you’re going to get that type of match. Probably a little more action with Rey being in it. It’s more of an advantage having a Lucha Libre like Rey going out there and performing. I’m going to get to throw him around. It’ll be fun." Q. Any favorite memories of Chicago? A. "I like going on the Mancow show. He’s hilarious. The food, the restaurants are great here. My favorite moments have always come in the ring. I had a match with Chris Benoit that was incredibly good." Q. How special will it be when Eddie Guerrero is inducted into the Hall of Fame? A. "I love Eddie Guerrero just like any other wrestler does. I think it’ll be the first time anyone’s been inducted the (year they stopped wrestling). It shows what kind of athlete and wrestler he was. Eddie Guerrero not only understood wrestling from a psychological standpoint and from an athletic standpoint. He understood it as an owner, an agent. He was like a father to all the wrestlers. From having the history, the family, he had a sense of how to make his character make money. In my mind, Eddie Guerrero, the best entertainer across the board."

I am starting to have a problem with NFL defensive play celebrations as well. I can understand if you hold a team to a 3 and out in a close game in the 4th and celebrating here and there, but the defensive players are as bad as the WR's now in that they are over celebrating even the smallest and simplest plays. God forbid a quarterback gets sacked now in the NFL, because you are going to see a 25 step jig from whoever brought the QB down.

It's subjective, WP. There is a case that can be made for Em being #1. I don't necessarily agree with that, but a very good case can be made on Em's behalf. If you only know Eminem on that list, then you really have no business criticizing it because about 80% of the guys Carnival named deserve to be on it. I think you only knowing Eminem on that list says more about your lack of knowledge about rappers and hip hop than anything else.

Don't forget about the neutering they gave the champ. Angle is pretty much beat by Taker when Henry interferes during the SD rematch of the No Way Out ME. That was a key point in killing Angle. Taker had his arms crossed and there was no indication Angle was going to get up. They could've had Henry interfere at a different point in the match where Angle wasn't so vulnerable so he is protected. But no. Then last week Angle jobs to Henry. Angle is very much the paper champion Orton said he was going into Mania this weekend and whoever wins this title off him may not be the better for it.
-
He gets all the heat and push for WM behind his match instead of Rey's. The SD title match is the coldest WM ME level match since Sid vs Taker in 97. Rey backed in to the match. Orton has garnered no heat except cheap heat at the expense of exploiting Eddie and Angle was neutered since they decided to sacrifice him to heat up the Taker/Henry casket match. WWE has done a tremendous job letting us know that the SD 3 way means shit.

From the truly asinine department... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2390599 Looks like the league is going to put a ban on "men in tights". Whatever. They look kind of goofy to me, but if a player wants to wear them and it doesn't help them to cheat or get a competitive edge, then I say let them look like fools.

Seconded on the best team not winning the national title every year argument. I'd put that UNLV 91 team up against any team from any era.

RVD is very close to Cena was a year ago in that he is very over with the audience, but in ring he hasn't been good since his comeback. I think some of it is a lot of RVD's offense and crazy bumping when selling were a timing thing and since he's been back, that stuff is off. As far as the fusion neck surgery guys coming back and being on or off, most of those guys didn't work the style RVD does, so their transition was much easier. I'd say RVD resembles HHH coming back from the torn quad. Not saying RVD was very good even before he went on the shelf, but he was a lot better than he is now.

Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania
Dangerous A replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
However, there is also the trust issue from Bret's POV. Perhaps he feels Shawn will do something (not sure exactly what) to steal the spotlight from Bret's final appearance/speech with WWE? -
Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania
Dangerous A replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
Actually Bret waived his HOF appearance fee. Of course, you'll say he's lying, but whatever. I fail to see how his appearance now gets more DVD sales. People who wanted the Bret DVD already bought it. All the big Bret fanboys got the DVD the first week or two it was released. I doubt a HOF appearance is going to spurn more Bret DVD sales since people could've had it since Novemeber already have it and chances are people who didn't have the money either waited for the holidays or ripped it illegally. You make a point on Bruno and Savage, but you do know you are talking about the WWE HOF right? They aren't going in any particular order. Bruno and Savage belong there before 98% of guys they already put in. The HOF is just a vehicle for WWE to make more money. Shiek, JYD, Volkoff, Hillbilly Jim, etc should not be in before Savage or Bruno either. Another factor is Vince isn't obsessed with Savage and Bruno like he is with Bret. Vince will probrably wait until both are dead before inducting them. -
That seals the deal. Ric Flair is SO winning MITB now.

What's Balut you say? A delicacy of Asia and especially the Philippines, a balut is a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a hearty snack, balut are mostly sold by street vendors at night. Their high protein content is complimentary to the consumption of beer. The word balut roughly translates to mean "wrapped". Balut are most often eaten with a pinch of salt, though some balut-eaters prefer chili and vinegar to complement their egg. The eggs are savored for their harmony of textures and flavors; the broth surrounding the embryo is sipped from the egg before the shell is peeled and the yolk and young chick inside can be eaten. All of the contents of the egg are consumed with the exception of a hard white chunk (the bato or "rock") that is found in the bottom of the egg. Balut have recently entered higher cuisine by being served as appetizers in restaurants: cooked adobo style, fried in omelettes or even used as filling in baked pastries. Balut-making is not native to the Philippines. A similar preparation is known in China as maodan (Chinese: 毛蛋; Hanyu Pinyin: máodàn; literally "hairy egg"), and Chinese traders and migrants are said to have brought the idea of eating fertilized duck eggs to the Philippines. However, the knowledge and craft of balut-making has been localized by the balut-makers (mangbabalut). Today, balut production has not been mechanized in favor of the traditional production by hand. Although balut are produced throughout the Philippines, balut-makers in Pateros are renowned for their careful selection and incubation of the eggs. Fertilized duck eggs are kept warm in the sun and stored in baskets to retain warmth. After nine days, the eggs are held to a light to reveal the zygote inside. Approximately eight days later the balut are ready to be cooked, sold, and eaten. Vendors sell cooked balut out of buckets of sand, used to retain warmth, and are accompanied by small packets of salt. Uncooked balut are rarely sold in Southeast Asia. In the United States, many Asian markets occasionally carry uncooked balut eggs, though their demand in North America is not very great. The cooking process is identical to that of hard-boiled chicken eggs, but the eggs are enjoyed while still warm. Duck eggs that are not properly developed after nine to twelve days are sold as penoy, which look, smell and taste similar to a regular hard-boiled egg. These are occasionally beaten and fried, similar to scrambled eggs, and served with a vinegar dip. The age of the egg before it can be cooked is a matter of colloquial preference. In the Philippines, the perfect balut is 17 days old, at which point it is said to be balut sa puti ("wrapped in white"). The chick inside is not old enough to show its beak, feathers or claws and the bones are undeveloped. The Vietnamese prefer their balut matured from 19 days up to 21 days, when the chick is old enough to be recognizable as a baby duck and has bones that will be firm but tender when cooked.

Hmmm, I didn't know that. Well, Helms is out for a number of weeks/months, right? They could have done this "big" angle where the cruisers fought over the number one contendership in Helms' absence. The point is that the cruisers should have been on the show. I don't mean that really in a way where I'm saying they should care for the division, because we all know they really don't. I'm shocked they didn't have them on the show just because it usually makes for a hot match that gets the crowd really into the show. Seems like they'd want that on there. As of right now, there aren't really matches like that on the card, unless they blow their load and have the MITB match go on first. If JBL/Benoit gets 15, it can be a good opener and they like using secondary title matches as openers. No way JBL/Benoit get 15. No way at all. If they are the opener, they'll get less than 10. Bank on it.

Thank God I know what balut is. I will NEVER eat that shit. I don't feel bad that I cannot cook Filipino despite being Filipino. That's what Mom is for.

I'm thinking one of Tony's closest guys (Silvio, Paulie, or Christopher) gets whacked sometime this season and that event will start up the war between Tony and Johnny/Phil. I wonder where they are going with Bobby Bacala?
-
I get the feeling Lashley and Finley will brawl their way out of the MITB match. I could even see them doing one of those deals where they show them continuously brawling between a match or two after MITB is over.

$.99 any fast food= cheap fulfilling lunch. If you have no regard to your health or taste, Jack in the Box has 2 tacos for $.99 right now. I wouldn't recommend that unless you are really, really fucking poor and really, really fucking hungry.
