BIG announcement expected backstage on Monday

OK folks, the policy, in even more detail... Man, that's a tough read.

No, because Vince is no longer classified as "talent". Vince took himself off the talent roster a few months ago so he no longer gets a paycheck for being "talent". Vince instead rewarded himself with a $47 million dividend. This is how Vince is going to bypass the testing. Kind of hypocritical when you think about it.

USA Network to air 2006 Hall of Fame Ceremony

It won't. Trust me on that. However I have not watched any of the Hall of Fame specials and don't plan on starting this year either.

Why hasn't Brock Lesnar come back yet?

Brock is the Stan Hansen of the 21st Century, eh? Not exactly. Stan Hansen was actually a draw and is now considered a legend in Japan. I can't say the same thing about Lesnar if and when his career with New Japan is through. Although Brock Lesnar is on top in New Japan right now, business is in the toilet, although it wouldn't matter who was put on top. Things in New Japan are so bad, you could literally take anyone from the pro wrestling world outside Japan and put them on top and it would mean jack shit. New Japan is way more fucked up right now than WWE in terms of business. Lesnar just happens to get a way more favorable schedule and decent payday out of it. The schedule was actually one of Brock's primary hangups with WWE.

Here is an interested tidbit from Dave Meltzer back in November when they announced the testing would be happening....

One thing I'll say about Vince is even though he doesn't want to do this, if he's going to do it, he wants to be able to puff out his chest to show they are doing it better than anyone else. That said, he also had to do this because the mainstream media push to WM is coming and he needs this in place for when the media comes asking about the drug related deaths in wrestling, particularly coming off the heels of Eddie last November.

    This week in the NBA

Webber and AI are very consistent with what they bring to the table. However, Andre Iguodala is the one who needs to step up to become the Sixers Richard Jefferson. He needs to become a lot more consistent and become that 2nd or 3rd go to option. Then and only then will they become a threat to get out of the 1st round of the playoffs.

Here it is folks... Basically, first positive, month without pay. 2nd positive, 2 months no pay and/or substance abuse treatment program. 3rd positive, [Vince] YOUREEE FFFIIIIRREED!!![/Vince] However, everyone is getting tested today as a "baseline" test. It's realistically the 2nd test that will get you in trouble.

Why hasn't Brock Lesnar come back yet?

He should've figured that one out. If they aren't paying for your hotel and rental cars, they sure as hell aren't going to foot the bill for your own personal jet, no matter how up the card you are.
  10. I think the jury is still out on that one and it will be decided this year. Last year, the idea didn't sound very good and TNA went out and produced one of their best PPV's with the all cage idea. That said, it may not work this year for whatever reason. One thing that I think absolutely needs to happen this year is everyone needs to coordinate with one another about what the other is doing in terms of cage spots so that when one cage spot is done, the wrestlers who haven't gone on yet get it in their heads to not duplicate what has already been done and the show doesn't suffer from redundancy.

    Adam Morrison vs JJ Redick

This stems from an ESPN segment with Digger Phelps and Jay Bilas. Basically, it's a two man race for College Player of the Year, Duke's JJ Redick and Gonzaga's Adam Morrison. Questions here are.. Who will be the Player of the Year? and Who will turn out to be the better pro player? I think Redick will get the nod for POTY because Duke gets more exposure and plays a tougher schedule. However, I think Morrison, because of his height, will be a better pro. Redick is still a better pure shooter, but he really needs to find the right team and personnel at the pro level to achieve real success since he is undersized for a shooting guard and his handle may not be pro level to play point guard. Still, if he finds the right system, he should be fine. What do you think?
  12. He did get get an eggroll with it though. What kind of eggroll was it? A more traditional Chinese eggroll or perhaps a Filipino eggroll? There are subtle differences, you know.
  13. Sometimes, a garnish is needed with soup. But not tomato soup. You just dip a grilled cheese in there and you're good to go!
  14. I'm thinking it's more a call for tomato soup.

    Warrior's writing online again

It's weird, because I want to quote some stuff in particular to laugh at the insanity, but I honestly don't know where to begin. I'm not sure anyone can purposely write stuff this funny.

Ultimate Warrior speaks on TNA !!

It would be a joke because no one believes or buys into Warrior anymore. BTW, the entire rant, where he goes off on Sting, the internet, Abe Lincoln, etc is in the General Wrestling folder right now.

    Appeasing Smarks & Marks

WWE will always try to appease the marks, or at least do what they think marks would like. Smarks, at least a high percentage, will always buy what WWE sells no matter how bad things are. It's the marks who's money counts most in WWE's eyes since they also outnumber the smarks by about 10 to 1.

    Autistic HS Senior basketball player

Got it. I saw some news clip where they just showed him making baskets and the crowd going apeshit and then the commentators were putting it over as this huge feel good moment. Now that I have the real context, I'm mad I wasted any time in this thread.

    Autistic HS Senior basketball player

So it wasn't in a regulation game or something? The news reports I saw made it seem like this was in a real game or something. This is just stupid then. Basically it's "autistic kid does shoot around".

Comments which don't warrant a thread

A long title reign with the WWE Cruiserweight title? I think the Vince McMahon Kiss my Ass club has more prestige in WWE-land.

    Autistic HS Senior basketball player

Too bad. He's in a varisty sport and if he wants to play it, he gets the equal treatment. I don't care if he thinks his name is Bunny Wabbit, he's playing and he's hitting big shots. He gets fouled. He's not a baby and most of em don't want to be treated like one. And the kid obviously worked hard to make the team, least anyone can do is treat him like a player and not a side show act. Why don't you man up and play some D instead of fouling a retard. Would you foul a random kid who was making shots? The way I play, I'm always D'ing up. Now, if I'm just playing on the playground, I don't make a big deal if the guy I'm guarding is hot. However, if I was in a high school game or league game where the game counts, then I may have to foul the guy to try to stop him, especially if he's hot from 3 point land. I'm not saying I'd hard or flagrant foul, but I'd definitely make contact with the shooters arm and let the ref decide if it's a foul. Autistic or not, that's what I'd do if he were the guy I was designated to guard. The bit about me "tackling Rain Man" was a joke. You can keep your spurs from jingling and jangling now.
  22. Ace may love Samoa, but Vince has the final say. That final say would have Joe wrestling barefoot, eating raw fish or something.
  23. I see where you are coming from a little bit more, especially since you said you don't like her. Thing is, I'm not sure being a big star is what her goal is in the immediate future. Right now, just getting away from the pro wrestling business and parlaying that into something a little more respectable and higher paying is probrably the priority.
  24. I'll let you in on a little secret in Hollywood... Quite a bit of the women can't act their way out of a paper bag. If she gets any acting gigs, it'll be based on her look, not her ability to deliver a line. I know some people starving in LA trying to make it and all of them have lost out on a part to a person who they were clearly more talented than, but that person had the look casting directors or producers were looking for. As for modeling, you're crazy if you don't think Stacy would make more money doing that than wrestling. There is a ton of work for her in print ads, magazine work, commercials. etc. Yeah, she might not be on TV every week like she was in WWE, but she'll be making more money doing less deplorable work.
  25. Very much so. It's the whole bubble thing where some fans live in a wrestling bubble (or music bubble like you cited) and cannot fathom that someone from their bubble can succeed outside of it, hence gems like this...
