Writer assistant from Smackdown writes to Meltzer
Dangerous A replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
Nothing official from any sites, but all indications are he's at least extended his time somewhat, if not outright re-signed and is not a pending free agent. -
If that's the case, then Gasol falls under the Melo category of being worthy of an All Star spot, but the position in your conference is competitively fierce. BTW Slim, I think that Bonzi Wells injury was a blessing in disguise as Adelman had to play Kevin Martin and he may have just discovered a 20 ppg type in the rough.

Until business starts to tank and these paying customers stop paying for ppv's, merchandise, and the like, WWE will continue doing whatever the fuck they want. As long as fans continue to accept and pay for complete and utter shit, WWE will continue to provide it. -
I am a fan of both. Because I am a fan of worked, fake fighting, which is what both WWE and TNA present. Both have their good and bad qualities. I take the good with the oversided bad in both cases. I also am a fan of Lucha and Puroresu, which are vastly different than both TNA and WWE. Man, you are something else.

Pau got gipped something fierce. I don't even like the guy, but he got fucked today. Okur is worthy, but Pau is more worthy to me.

Why, so they can kill him dead with revenge booking? No way they put him over strong in any way after what he's tried to do to them legally. WWE won't look past that to do any business.

Here's a hypothetical thrown at you guys... Let's say hypothetically that Lesnar were to have his no compete thrown out and could participate with TNA and hypothetically TNA signs him. Throw in Goldberg to the mix. Could TNA re-do Lesnar vs Goldberg and not have the crowd shit on it? Or is the stigma already attached to this particular matchup? Does TNA even have the moxy to properly book and promote a Lesnar/Goldberg rematch?

Booking philosophies and disciplines
Dangerous A commented on Dangerous A's blog entry in The Good Stuff
RRR, I seem to remember something on either WOL or F4D between Alvarez and Meltzer where they said TNA should concentrate their energy and efforts on trying to make just 2-3 select guys stars with the adage that if you can make 2-3 guys, they can carry a promotion whereas if you try to make 30 guys into stars, you will not make any. The thinking of how to book from a television POV is very interesting. It also works. There's that story that Vince always pushes where Ted Turner called him up shortly after purchasing WCW and said, "I'm now in the rasslin' business" to where Vince replied "Well, Ted, I'm in the television business". Right there, Vince was already ahead of the game in terms of the war with Ted and it wasn't until Ted opened up his pocket book and gave power to Eric Bischoff that WCW became more of a television product. HTQ, one of the other things about Jarrett booking is the even-steven aspect of it. One part is tv time, specifically on ppv's. It seems everyone gets 8-12 minutes to do a match. Word I've heard is because Jeff wants to be everyone's friend and not step on anyone's toes. (unless they badmouth him publicly) He also doesn't want to offend his friends or anyone from the "Attitude" era who he feels are stars and so everyone gets this equal time and no one gets over. Sort of goes back to the bit where they should concentrate on just a few supercharged storylines and characters instead of everyone across the board getting the same treatment. While I understand that he wants to reward guys that have been with the promotion from day one for being loyal, he needs to step back outside the bubble (in an ideal world) and see where the promotion's efforts should be directed. -
Actually, a lot of it may have to do with the UFC PPV which was that same night. If the replay has a significant drop as well, then Sting may be a big reason why.

I want a music video with the souls of Mama Benjamin and Eddie in illuminated light, looking down on the roster and showering them with heavenly rain and the roster looking up at Mama Benjamin and Eddie and smiling. All to the tune of Bone Thugs N Harmony's "Tha Crossroads".

Fuck this, Art Monk should be in. Nuff said. Fuck Peter King. Hall of Sham for me until Art Monk is in cause this is some bull fucking shit.

Good first show, Adam and everybody. I struggled to hear some of the UFC guys when I played my iPod in my car, but with my earphones it was good. Are you guys (RRR, LOTC, LT, and YPOV) doing this for every show? JHawk, very well done as well. As you know now, it can be difficult to go alone with nothing but your thoughts and still make it compelling. If anyone lets me know if and when the pro wrestling roundtable is going to happen, I'd gladly take part.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan & Goldust - Tag Team Champions?
Dangerous A replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
No. Just, no. -
From sites, no. I wouldn't doubt that they go with Rey vs Benoit in an Eddie exploita...er...memorial match of some sort since they don't know what to do with 2 of their top 5 workers.

Chelsea, that could be the Howard Stern syndrome you have, except it's towards right wing talk radio. There was a poll done awhile ago that showed that more of Howard Stern's listeners hated him than liked him. It was figured that there is something to listening to something you hate to get a reaction out of yourself. Like a drug or adrenaline junkie. I think quite a bit of the right wing talk radio listenership suffers from what you do, chelsea.

Hogan is still steamed about Michaels post Summerslam behavior and Michaels is still peeved Hogan didn't want to do an extended program where Hogan would have to, gasp, job. I still think Hogan will find a way onto this show, just not in Shawn and Vince's match.
-
Uh, what Art Sandusky said.

I think Shawn's WM match will be handicap with Vince and Shane vs HBK so Shane can do most of the work while Vince will just do a handful of spots so he can get his mug on TV. I just don't think that a 60 year old man (even one as fit as Vince) only a year removed from tearing both quads is going to have a passable singles match.

I'd love to see the Gen Next guys (Strong, Aries, and Shelley) come in the ring after the X title 3 way at AaO and just lay out Joe, Daniels, and AJ. Sort of make a statement that they want to make an impact and such and what better way to do it than laying out the 3 guys who they were bitching about taking up all the tv time. Then you have 6 guys with a ton of possibilites for matchups. I'd even let the Gen Next guys get some early wins due to outside interference and being on the same page with the thinking that since they are as one, the 3 of them can conquer the seperate entities of AJ, Daniels, and Joe. (all the while you'd have to protect Joe still) Then eventually AJ and Co. would get their shit straight and comeback and what not. It could end up making 3 stars very quickly while putting on entertaining matches. Also, I'm a mark for themes like "United we stand, divided we fall", which is what I proposed is.

I also think Livingston can be good if he stays healthy. Thing is, the guy is like 6'7 and 180ibs. He won't be able to take the normal wear and tear an NBA body goes through without getting to at least over 2 bills in the weight dept.
-
While I don't think there is a way to find out if the same people watching the first airing are also watching the replay, I can just tell you that I have never watched the replay. Don't need to. I would never watch a replay of a regular tv show for either TNA or WWE.

Using Eddie's death in storylines - So, are all of you finally aga
Dangerous A replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
Gotta love Meltzer: "I am outaged at the WWE exploiting Eddy Guerrero's death for monetary gain or publicity! Here's a plug for my radio show where you can hear all about it!" He was plugging Konnan being on the radio show. Meltzer said in his mailbag that the Guerrero exploitation actually doesn't make him "outraged" or mad, it just confirms what he thinks about how McMahon and Co. do business. Nice try, though. -
Chris Benoit on the Mic vs Chris Masters in the Ring

You guys are better than I, eating tomato soup plain. I can get with tomato soup being the base for something bigger, like a killer minestrone soup, but I just can't bring myself to get with plain tomato soup. Can't stand V-8 either. -
bob, you are very much up to speed on ROH. What and/or who do you think the surprise is?
