Coffey, you touched up on one of the fundamental problems that TNA has right now. Lack of direction. Where are they going with Abyss and Sabu? Why does Abyss fear the barbed wire? Not to go RRR on you, but this should be examined, at least a little. It would certainly get us to give at least 2 shits about them before they are cut to ribbons in a match. Good point about the being different and being an alternative. Even during promos on TNA, they still duplicate what WWE does and have theme music interupt whoever is talking. That is just one example. They should not be doing backstage skits (also because they look terrible), they should be doing everything out in the ring or ringside area. If you are going to be different, really be different. Also, now that they have a national slot and have expectations to Spike TV, they should stop pandering to the lockerroom and not worry about feelings. They feel they have to have Team Canada, AMW, Jeff Jarrett, 3 Live Kru, Kip James, etc on at least once a show or somehow feature them because they'll be mad if they don't get some air time because a lot of those guys were there from the get go or these guys were former WWF stars. This is going to kill them in the end. No one wants to pay to see these guys and none of them are going to become TV stars, especially Jarrett, no matter how many times they get on TV. The shows are the same. TNA right now is playing in their comfort zone. The way the shows are now are the same as when they were on FSN and the internet. There is no feeling of the Spike show being different. It's the same ol, same ol. Christian is the only bright spot right about now, along with Samoa Joe and the X Division. After the brutal Genesis match and some corny promos, I've soured on Monty Brown. I'm not saying to kill his push. I'm just saying he's not hot anymore IMO.

Kazakhstan threatens to sue Da Ali G Show
Dangerous A replied to MrRant's topic in Television & Film
Tom Green was a hack. Ali G is worlds better. Ali G's movie also smoked Tom Green's movie. (which isn't saying much) -
TNA iMPACT got a 0.7 rating, the lowest since it's been on Spike TV. From PWTorch.com They really need to focus on creating TV stars and characters, like right fucking now. Not good going into Genesis. (although I think with the death of Eddie, that'll be the built in excuse, and it's actually a viable one)

Perhaps they will release a matches only DVD like they did with HBK and HHH.

Reasons why WWE wants nothing to do with Savage 1) He's actually more unstable than Warrior 2) He won't cooperate in any way and is uncontrolable, which the McMahon's hate. 3) He has it out big time for Hulk Hogan, who WWE still sees as a profitable commodity and they don't want to fuck up relations with a drawing card right now. In time, they'll probrably make a burial DVD about Savage. It's sad because Savage actually deserves to be in their Hall of Fame just as much, if not more than any other person alive or dead.

This is the best take on this subject in all of this thread.

Hopefully, we get a hint on who will be heading the Invasion with Bret

Eddie's match versu Rey at HH 97. You can't beat a five star affair. A lot of Eddie's Black Tiger work in NJPW from 93-95 was awesome, as well as his AAA work as part of Los Gringos Locos. In WWE, my favorite Eddie match would probrably be his title win over Brock because of what it meant to him.
-
Actually, I watched the show and it wasn't a special about Eddie. It was just a segment on Rita Cosby's show. The whole show wasn't dedicated to Eddie. Hell, Natalee Holloway got more play on the show than Eddie did.

They need to hold off on Christian and not hot shot anything to him. Despite being one of the top stars right off the bat, he still needs elevating. I think this Monty/Christian match should be a test to see if Monty can hold his own. If he has a good match, then it'll indicate he can at least be carried by someone. If not, coupled with the poor performance against Jeff Hardy, I think you have to take Monty down a peg or two.

Angle potentially dying could be the one that opens the flood gates about drugs in the wrestling industry. You have an olympic gold medalist who enters pro wrestling and dies young. Yeah, that one would be pretty big.

Vince McMahon's "Viva La Raza" was incredibly awkward and annoying. The rest of the Raw tribute was fine.
-
After seeing Monty's match with Jeff Hardy, I'm not so sure he's ready for a spot at the top. I'm questioning a Monty Brown title reign now.
-
Why is that?

Picked this up at Best Buy last night for $19.99 Copped the last one too. Still haven't watched it yet. Still gotta watch Joe vs Kobashi, which came in the day before.

I need to hear that proceeds from the show go to Eddie's family for me to sign off on this.

Even then, it pretty much doesn't matter because Raw doesn't get any of the ad revenue no matter if it gets a 2.0 or 8.0 rating. Basically, from here on out, they should be primarily concerned with the rating for the Raw before and Raw after a PPV, since that indicates how many people were watching and perhaps influenced to purchase the show. The follow up is just as important. BTW, glad to see RRR in full force this afternoon, saying what needs to be said since there is an elephant in the room and no one is talking about it.

As Laz brought up, they are the same ass kicking persona, but one is a loud and outward personality and the other is more quiet and subtle. Joe's body of work is more solid, but he also had a lot more freedoms and Taz was already working with a repaired broken neck when he started his big ECW push. Would still have been a killer matchup.

What Will Eddie’s Death Ultimately Mean.....
Dangerous A commented on a blog entry in Straight Shooting
As twisted as that sounds, it's not far from the truth. I also echo RRR's sentiments. The shows are par for the course. They don't deserve a pat on the back for shit they should already be doing. When they go above and beyond, then give me a call. -
God Bless this post and this poster.

I've had the same piece of shit stuck in my head for about a week now. I only ever get the absolute worst dreck stuck and that is certainly no expection. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't think anything could be worse than this drivel by Black Eyed Peas. Then I heard "Laffy Taffy". I want to die now.

Howard Stern makes fun of Eddie Guerrero.
Dangerous A replied to iliketurtles's topic in The WWE Folder
Bet that the 'E' forgets about all this when one of their wrestlers or representatives goes on his show to help hype either Playboy or Wrestlemania. -
They sure didn't. Nocioni is not supposed to be your leading scorer with 17. Everyone was just off on the Bulls.

This is correct. The only way "average" looking guys get over in wrestling is if they 1) are allowed and can execute blowaway things in the ring a la AJ Styles or 2) if they are charismatic and have presence on the mic. Bigger guys just have it easier because they don't have to do as much. It's a big reason why the WWE Cruiserweights are a joke. They aren't allowed to bust out stuff they need to get over. They are told to get over using WWE style of how to work. How are the fans supposed to get into Spanky and Frankie Kazarian punching and kicking each other and they are the same size, if not smaller than the fans whereas if Taker, JBL, or whatever Main Event WWE guy are doing it, it works for them because of their size.
