The Bucks are stacking up on big men, trading Desmond Mason and a 1st Round pick to New Orleans/Oklahoma City for Jamaal Magloire... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2204385 It's as if they think they're going to make the playoffs and need the big guys or something.

If you are judging Em's work from just his albums, then I can see where you might say he's overrated, especially Encore, which was awful. However, the albums before them were excellent and if you listen to his freestyles and mixtapes, I'm sorry, he's still spits as good as anyone in the game today.

Tivo is the only way to watch WWE these days, I'll tell you that much.

Thing is, if more sentiment like this keeps coming up, it shows they are killing towns with lame stuff like this carny shit. Hell, they've already killed most towns since they haven't sold out a Raw or SD taping forever and the only ppv's they've sold out this year are WM and Summerslam.

Lashley needs a mouthpiece for him because when he starts talking more than 3 sentences, you start to notice he sounds like a gay male. Personally, I want a reunion of Kennedy, the Tolands, and Jillian Hall sans the mole. They were gold in OVW. Problem is, again, since creative doesn't actually watch the shows, they probrably aren't going to let Chad and Tank be Chad and Tank. Just like they won't let MNM be MNM or the Heart Throbs be what they were in OVW.
-
It's too bad creative doesn't actually watch OVW because Kennedy is a fantastic antagonist on that show.

Yes, but those guys are the exception and not the rule. For every Foley and Rikishi, there are a ton of other guys who they made out to be clowns. Hell, Rikishi didn't even have a very long run on top, although to be fair it was doomed from the start because it made zero sense for him to be the hit and run guy for SCSA.

So Joe'll be wiping his ass in other guy's faces? Or pretending he's Japanese? Or teaming with another Somoan as a primitive barefoot savage? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's also one of the reasons Joe didn't want to sign with WWE. They had a vision for him (probrably eating raw fish and wrestling barefoot) and he wanted to be himself. He also didn't want to compromise the style he works because they would tell him he's too dangerous and they wouldn't let him work Japan or Indy shots.

As long as Monty is protected and the build is done, it's not a bad thing to hold off his potential reign. You don't want to rush it, yet you don't want to pull a Heyman and not pull the trigger when the people are hot for him. Same goes with Joe.
-
I love how they did his heel turn on the internet instead of television. They must have a ton of confidence in him as a character to pull that. Hopefully, he'll be having some great matches. On the internet of course. Cause that's where all the WWE action is. That's where you'll get casuals to care about Hurricane. Not television. Not pay per view. The internet. You know, cause that's where TNA made all that buzz when they went off of FSN. Oh wait. That didn't happen. Helms is dead and you all fucking know it.

I understand the reasoning of getting the title off of Rhino, because there was nothing for them and they probrably have some stuff laid out at least a month or longer out. Still, a little longer reign could've left Rhino as an Abyss type player, where he is over as a threat but you really aren't trying to build the company around. Rest of the tapings sound solid enough and I'll be watching, especially since it looks like they are building Daniels/Joe.

One thing I recommend doing on this 2 hour special (hell, start doing it on the next Impact) is get some mic time for X Division guys like Shelley, Aries, Dutt, Sabin, etc. I'm not saying they all need mic time right this second, but they need to develop some kind of personality for these guys or else they just end up as faceless cruiser guys who kick ass in the ring, but why do we care if they win or lose? They don't even need a lot of mic time, hell, a couple of lines right after a hard fought match can go a long way in determining whether a guy like Rod Strong is a face or heel. Right now, him and a lot of X Division guys are in character purgatory.

See this is the thing that I hate more about Jarrett than anything else, including his stale promos claiming he's King of the Mountain. It's the finishes of his matches. They end with one or all of the following: ref bumps, guitar shots, run-ins, non-sensical turns. Thing is, because Jarrett is a heel, it's acceptable that he wins in cheating fashion. Problem is, he won't lay down clean and when he jobs, it's just as screwy as his wins. However, the face doesn't get over that way. (case in point, Jarrett jobbing to AJ in June because Tito Ortiz beat Jarrett, not AJ)

Well, the Observer site only lists 3 matches (U-X, NWA title, tag match) so I'm banking on at least 2-3 more matches on the show.

I'm actually glad that Team 3-D will face Team Canada as opposed to the obvious AMW match. It also depends on which members of Team Canada they face. Petey will be in Ultimate X, which leaves Roode, Young, and A-1. Roode is very underrated and Young 0wns because he did a Flair flop from the apron to the floor and bumps like no one's business. A-1 is pretty much worthless, so yeah, I want Roode and Young.

I think it stayed the same for weeks 2 and 3, but it's good it went up for the show right before the ppv. Baby steps. They need to think baby steps and they need to think "what would WWE NOT do in such and such situation". As RRR pointed out, TNA isn't in WWE's league right now, so they need to not worry about them and put thier focus and energy on the next show and especially the prime time special, since that has potential for more viewers than their ppv's.

Here is the entire blurb from Meltz... Viva TNA and UFC I say!

I thought it was funny how Palmer Cannon mentioned the Tolands, but the Tolands were never introduced as such when the attacked the Mexicools. To casual fans, they probrably still don't have an idea who the fuck the Tolands are. While SD is leaps and bounds better than Raw now, they still have quality control issues.

13. Ref bumps for TV and PPV Main events.

I believe SK gave it a full monty (five stars) at first. Even then, while I thought it was very good for the time, I didn't think it was full monty. Back in '01, SK had a lot more clout and wasn't yet exposed as the hack he is known to be today, so a lot of the IWC got their cues from him.

And my love for wrestling has just died...

This was brought up on Bryan Alvarez's show with Meltz as a guest. Ultimately it's Vince. Steph just carries out what she thinks Vince wants. Vince has even had times where he didn't agree with something Steph and Co. presented him and things changed to fit Vince's vision. Hell, almost everyone in creative was against the Katie Vick angle except Kevin Dunn and Vince. What Vince wants, Vince gets. He doesn't want opposition to his vision. He wants yes men (and his daughter). -

I stole this from another message board and it sums up my feelings perfectly about the situation... post.of.the.day. ...from some other message board poster. -

My love for pro wrestling doesn't die so much as things like this make me embarassed to be a fan. -
WWE does the shit they just did and scratch their heads and wonder why, even when Raw would get ad revenue, the ad rates sucked and were half what the ad rates are for things that do only half the ratings. I'm sure if I'm an ad executive, I'd want to advertise on a show that does faux anal surgery. Sometimes, I hate WWE.
