That seems like a decent idea. I say give someone 24 hours to make their pick, then after that the next team can skip ahead.

EA Sports Locks Up NFL License... Again

This is terrible...ah well, I still have 2k5 so it's no biggie. That Eagles team with TO is pretty good. -
She was the worst gladiator on that power rankings blog...it was linked a few pages back. They might have dropped her for being so bad at the game.

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

Why would Vince throw money at Joe? I mean...they already have Umaga. -
Triplets would be funny. Which one would get pushed? Maybe they'll bring the six-man tag title out of mothballs for them.

You can get jail time for that in a lot of countries, but I don't know if it all adds up to life. Here's an example from Canada: If she behaved well, she would have gotten out after serving 1/3 of her sentence, so 6 months actual jail time for obstruction of justice. Not sure what Aruban law is, but even if they get him for obstruction then it could potentially be a short sentence.
-
Really, you're an expert on the Aruban legal system now Nightwing? They aren't prosecuting him in the US.

UFC 83 - Serra vs. St. Pierre 2

You're not thinking long term here. It's probably worth it. I mean, I paid $250 to practically sit in the upper deck at a Wrestlemania once and that was when I was a poor college student (aka $250 = months worth of beer) but it was worth every penny. How often are you going to get the chance to see UFC live? Half the PPVs are in Vegas and they are increasingly moving to more and more locations meaning that if they come to your neck of the woods it's what? Once a year or less? I don't know what your financial situation is but even though it might seem like a lot at first, it's worth thinking about. Like Mik, I don't know how you're set up financially but if you've got a rewards credit card you may want to see if you've got the points for a free room (I'm probably using my SPG points for a family trip to Vegas. Hmm, taking a 4 month old to Sin City... pretty sure that's never a good idea...). If you don't have one, I highly recommend getting one (the cards compared are all no fee Canadian credit cards) Thing is, Vegas is a much cheaper trip for me than Montreal. The flight alone to Montreal is a good $800, probably more with tax. I'm paying half of that (probably less) for Vegas. Then dropping the 200-300 bucks for a ticket isn't so bad. Of course, Montreal + GSP sounds like it will be an amazing atmosphere...but it doesn't look like I'll be going. Vegas is much easier and cheaper. -
I'll take Seattle.

Ah, for everyone awaiting Bill Simmons crow column, here you go. Delicious.

It's pretty interesting how the general public viewed the Lesnar fight. I was on the Skytrain home and someone overheard me and a buddy talking UFC. Him - Did Lesnar win? Me - No, he lost in a minute. Him - The dude literally had his mouth hanging open for a minute. I thought he was going to say something, but he didn't. Finally his girlfriend laughed and made fun of him to snap him out of it. It seems like a lot of wrestling fans knew about the fight and expected Lesnar to kill Mir, or something. I guess it shows that WWE can build guys up fairly well with the general public.

I liked that episode. I had no idea it was hated. Skinner - "From now on, you'll see a new Seymour Skinner!" Agnes - "Oh no you won't." Skinner - (hangs head) "Yes, mother."

For some reason, I was expecting the seats would be a lot cheaper. I mean, 100 bucks for the rafters? Yikes. No Montreal trip for me. -
Havlat? I know he's injury prone, but he's young (only 26) and a pretty talented player. Is he on the last year of his contract or something?

Crush is 2 in the rankings, but 1 in my heart. Her not being in the last episode was a crime against humanity.

sigh...god please make it stop. please. why don't they just fucking do away with the wwe title and call it the cena heavyweight title. I like how a fued that could have been built for months is being blown off in three weeks, on a show that already has two (2!) Elimination Chamber matches. -
Does LA still have goaltending problems? They could use Ray Ray, maybe for one of their goalies and a depth player. Or they could trade Emery to Chicago...I think they have a cheap goalie there that has been playing well lately. Add him and Ottawa can't possibly lose.

That was hilarious. I love how the commentator was basically laughing at her. "Oh my!"

Only in America can a centre-right candidate be called a socialist Centre-Right? I understand the differences across nations, but calling Hillary Clinton "Centre-Right" in any sort of spectrum is pretty questionable. Hillary would be centre-right in Canada. She's at about the same side of the political spectrum as our Conservative party.

Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling
LaParkaMarka replied to geniusMoment's topic in General Wrestling
Just friends, IIRC. Bret mentions that he hated the dirtsheets, but it sounds like his opinion changes after Montreal. Pretty much right after Montreal he talked to Meltzer for the first time to tell his side of the story, and after that he doesn't really have anything bad to say about the sheets. The argument before about how he should have given Hennig more credit...yikes. Read that section again, the guy talks about Curt Hennig like a little brother about his idol older brother. He basically says that Hennig made him with that IC Title win. He also gave props to a lot of the early guys who helped him break in like Dr D, various Stampede workers, and especially Piper. Anyways, I wanted to say that I thought the book was pretty amazing, despite the sad whimper of an ending. He actually did let go of some of his apparent grudges...he had a lot of good things to say about Hogan, he says that Bill Goldberg was a good man, and he says that he understands why Vince did what he did from a business perspective. Based on the book, the screwjob was bad not because they took away some prop. At the time, he thought he was becoming friends with Shawn again, and he always saw Vince as a father figure. He took it really, really personally because of that. It sounds like Vince and Bret would have buried the hatchet after Owen's death if it wasn't for the wrongful death lawsuit and Bret's role as Martha's spokesperson. The stuff with Ellie and Bruce faxing all of the lawsuit documents to Vince was pretty terrible...no wonder Martha gave the whole Hart Family a big "fuck off forever". -
I don't understand this hate of Hillary coming from the Democrat side. Really, you'd vote Communist and be ok with McCain or Romney or Huckabee as president? Really?

Isn't he about to film a movie in New Orleans or something? -
I haven't watched TNA in forever, but I was a bit curious about Jay Lethal's gimmick so I caught his match against Kurt Angle. I like Lethal, but the crowd was terrible and the commentary was even worse. Are West and Tenay always that bad? West was atrocious, he just kept talking about nothing when Angle was setting up Lethal for an Olympic Slam...then, Lethal reverses into a DDT and West basically butchers the whole thing. Then, the ending...they didn't put it over at all on commentary. They basically said "I can't believe this loser won" instead of "A star is born". Lethal should have been celebrating in the ring and put over by commentary, instead of hiding outside the ring and basically being buried as a jobber who got lucky. One thing I did like: Lethal's entrance music. That's some good stuff. He pulled off his gimmick pretty well, though it would probably work better in the WWE.

I doubt theres very many men in America who havent thought the same exact thing but I wonder how many would have the guts to say it on a nationally aired radio show? Maybe this is why you have bad luck with women.
